So when does it get bad? Aside from a couple of shit squadmates and some repetitive environments I'm having fun

Then keep playing because that's pretty much the whole game.
>So when does it get bad?
about 1 game ago
>So when does it get bad?
>I'm having fun
It's not bad, just enjoy it.
played it some years back, it was good, the ending boss fight was better than origins, in my opinion.
The repetition will set in soon.
They only have a few art assets and the enemy wave system removes any tactical depth.
No, the waves add tactical depth. They just dont make sense.
The reaction to DA2 was overblown. Repetitive environments is a million times better than DAI's shitty open world
>some repetitive enviroments
I enjoyed it more than DAO, dare i say i even had fun with it
This. Also, the writing is literally r*ddit tier, figuratively
Yeah you have probably played all of the maps already, not even memeing
The shitty "action combat" implementation gets so boring so fast
I just did the DLC before I finished act 1 and go my shit pushed in.
every single bioware game is full of reddit writing
Sure as fuck not, at least the evironments in DA:I are comfy to explore, having the same brown dungeon all game in 2 is just a fucking insult and people who unironically defend 2 should have their right to vote reverted because they are clearly mentally disabled
Dragon Age Origins wasn't reddit, just generic
alistair is the most reddit character ever made
>some repetitive environments
>some
The entire game is repetitive environments. Every cave you go to is the same cave just with different rooms walled off.
Game was bad but act 2 was amazing.
The voice acting on some of the characters was the only redeeming feature.
Nah he's a whiny bitch and those exist in large numbers outside of reddit as well. Like over here
he's a whiny bitch and also reddit humour incarnate
He's the "whiny male character who uses humor to hide a secret/dark past and starts the game with you" that every bioware game has done since they started doing their cookie cutter games
Well fine. In DA2 every character is literally Alistair then
more or less yeah, as i said bioware can only do reddit writing
If you like the beginning of the game then it really won't ever get bad for you. You should keep playing it, you'll likely enjoy the whole thing.
DA2 isn't nearly as bad as it was made out to be. Some of the criticism hurled at it was rightfully deserved, particularly for some of the lazy shortcuts the developers took in regard to dungeon design and relationship building, but the majority of the seething hatred people felt toward it was because it was nothing like its predecessor, as there was a clear shift from Origins being a game wholly intended to be played on PC to DA2 being far more of a console game.
The last game before the fall of Bioware.
Fun reminder critics LOVED this game and fellated the shit out of it
Da2 music is way better than inquisition
However, Dragon Age Origins had characters that were not Alistair
DA2 was a good game.
>as there was a clear shift from Origins being a game wholly intended to be played on PC to DA2 being far more of a console game.
Everything you said was right up until this.
Is there any other game where you can decimate a group of enemies as a mage like on this one?Magica doent count
wat, he's completely right about that
Not really, go look it up on Metacritic if you don't believe me. It got mostly 8s, 7s, and more than a few 6s. They weren't half as hard on it as the audience was but aside of one or two, critics didn't "love" the game and they sure as shit weren't fellating it.
>Origins being a game wholly intended to be played on PC
have you never played origins, it's pretty clearly a console game at root
Does anyone else miss the tactics menu from 2?
The tactics in Origins were also great, but 2 really improved upon it and I had a lot of fun just setting tactics for my AI companions and tweaking them to work exactly the way I wanted them to.
HE literally makes Whedon-tier jokes
All the time. He embodies the “we start with characters being sarcastic” mentality towards character writing
He's spot on about that though. Have you ever played Origins on PC? Everything about that game's layout and control scheme is built specifically for a KB+M setup, not a controller, and has a system integrated for you to fight pre-tactically like most classic PC RPGs had. DA2 is the exact opposite, everything is sped up and streamlined like a console RPG with a control scheme perfect for the XB controller.
Also, to add to this, DA2 is mostly bad due to its budget and dev cycle. Unlike Inquisition, DA2 actually tries some new interesting things even if they don’t pan out.
I really enjoyed the variation in friendships and rivalries
>at least the evironments in DA:I are comfy to explore
I'm so glad that RPGs have become exploring sims because of people like you. Who cares whether the world is filled with shitty copy-paste content, the only thing that matters is how "comfy" it is
What are you smoking? Origins is thoroughly a PC game, from its top-down, pause and play CRPG gameplay to its myriad of menus that were clearly designed to be manipulated with something faster than just moving down each option.
DA2 was more of the console game
The environments in DAI were fucking lifeless. Kekwall was too but the difference is that DA2 had maybe 18 months of development time and DAI had what? 4?
>the “we start with characters being sarcastic” mentality towards character writing
Why do Americans have such an irrational fear for anything that might be interpreted as even slightly melodramatic?
It actually isn't terrible like everyone says it is, it's just an average game that could never live up to origins. But yeah, the repetitive environments suck
he was even based on whedon dialogue
I mean, yes the menus and layout were made to work best on PC, but they were also made with consoles in mind which is why they work so well on them too. Yeah yeah I'm sure you'll say the whole game is a giant throwback to ancient text-based rpgs or something ludicrous like that, but the reality is that it was made with every system in mind. It just werks best on PC cause mouse>controller for all those menus.
christ
fuck bioware and fuck obsidian for having writers like this
Because, particularly since the 90s, looking like you cared has been a sign of being naive. The sort of bullshit cynicism and nihilism that a lot of movies and TV shows glorified made its way into the collective subconscious.
So a result of that is that everyone has to look like they don’t care or else you’re just a starry eyed underage
>youtube.com
>he doesn't have a Swooping is Bad t-shirt
Sure but I would say that just makes it a good port job, not necessarily a Console game
If you want to see a game that was actually made with consoles-first in mind, look at Anthem’s fucking UI
I think this is why I liked Anders in Awakening more. Sure, he was also kind of jokey but the kinds of jokes he told were less sarcastic and more just cheeky
Holy fuck this is the most wrong post I've ever seen
>inb4 hurr see he doesn't care!
You asked why America doesn’t like melodrama and it’s because it’s seen as taking things seriously when a cool person would know better and be cynical and think that nothing matters much.
That’s how I’ve interpreted it at least, I was only 9 in 1990 so maybe I’m remembering things wrong
>It just werks best on PC cause mouse>controller for all those menus.
No! It's because it's an isometric RPG where selecting, moving, controlling, and switching between party members is much easier with a KB/mouse and because you don't have to deal with an absurd radial menu if you want to do anything more complicated than using one of your six main abilities! The console versions even tone down the difficulty and friendly fire settings because the control scheme is so miserable to deal with! Ugh!
>when does it get bad?
About the time you realize there is only 2 dungeon maps recycled ad infinitum, tactics don't matter because lol spawn around you, everything is gay and retarded, the dialogue system fails espectacullarly and your companions are absolute person-shaped garbage that will betray you to the first retard that offers them a moldy crust of bread.
For starters. Then it gets worse.
