>PC VR is the futur-
Oculus Quest it is then

friendly reminder that VR needs to be untethered, not require setup and be standalone to go mainstream

Dead technology thread?

Yeah, I'm looking forward to escaping setup nightmares of current VR.

VR isn't dead, only PC VR is.

There is a steady porn market across all devices, the only space where game development actually allows games to profit right now is PSVR.

The Oculus Quest, as limited as it's hardware is, can easily move as many units as the Oculus Go while being the first standalone headset to allow for 6 Degrees-of-Freedom input.

>Kinect

I've only seen 360 kinect, is that the boner model? Never seen tracking so accurate that didn't bug the fuck out on kinect.

What all games are coming to quest beyond beat saber?

>play The Forest in VR on oculus
>almost all buttons have a purpose
>no free hands at all to manipulate stuff as you want
i think it's the first VR game i played where i got so confused about the controls, feels like it wouldn't be so different with just a controller in hands.

any game recommendation out there with GREAT controls? so far i only played games with guns so i'd like to try something completely different for once. i fucking love shooter games but i need a break from them

oculus are porting robo recall, dead and buried and the climb
QuiVR is confirmed
superhot was demo‘d at their reveal
sairento vr (that slow-mo ninja shooter ) is being ported
Moss is confirmed officially
Rec Room devs said that they were optimizing for mobile hardware and two weeks later they were listed as a Quest dev, go figure

There are supposedly 50+ launch titles so there is a lot of stuff that has not been revealed or hinted at. But honestly I‘m mostly waiting for rec room, it has so many gamemodes and is actually really fun if you can ignore the squakers

SONY ALWAYS WIN

Yeah, same on RR, though what I want is just more variety of games now that quest could give people a platform that is more than "buy and set up a ton of shit in a specific room". Hoping it gets some more non-simulator games too.

>play The Forest in VR on oculus
Does it still run like complete dogshit

if either pavlov or onward are getting a quest port I‘d buy it

i legit love my htc vive though
it works exactly how you expected it to work and every new game is a unique and exhilarating experience

vr is only "dead" because of poorfags and lazy game devs to spooked to make a game thats not a third person lootshooter

VR IS NOT DEAD
YOU'RE JUST POOR

ran fine for me, complete 60fps and my rig is basically entry level for VR

I love VR games but the setup sucks and I can't be bothered to do it again.

Also both their controllers broke and are real pieces of shit
You know you have a faulty product when googling "vive trackpad" gets you these result. Doesn't help that their costumer service is shit tier apparently so I just fixed them myself.

Happened on both of mine after a short timefrime. The rubber connection that registers clicks literally wears out, you have to put a very thin piece of plastic inbetween.

You just plug it in, start up SteamVR, and pick a game. This is only slightly harder than pressing the power button on a console. I really don't understand what people are doing to make this a difficult process. The controller however, is in fact horrible and you are actually giving them too much credit. The rubber connection doesn't register the click. The pad just pivots over the rubber piece, which has no electronics at all. My rubber part was completely gone when I opened up the controller and I fixed it by super gluing a few pieces of card stick to make the pivot nub slightly taller.

I moved an need to drill holes for the basestations again

then I remember how front heavy the vive is, how I keep accidentally pulling on the thing ripping it half of my face, how I keep accidentally pulling out the power cable out of the 3 port connector and then I don‘t bother

It‘s a clunky experience, maybe you mostly use it seated and thus have a better experience?

I do have a tendency to get the cord wedged under my fun when crouching and then pull partially off my face when I try to stand up, so I will concede that one. I mostly play stand up games, but I try remain aware of the cord and not move too quickly. I also make mostly use the track pad for movement and just stay near the center of my room although I will also admit that I have punched my wall and ceiling a few times. However, I can't relate to the other comments. Putting in four screws that will likely be there for several years seems like a small time investment. I haven't tried the supposedly more comfortable headsets, but I have never felt the Vive was too heavy or uncomfortable even without the extra audio strap. I only recall pulling the power out twice in the two years I have had it.

It's coming back baby
