There were really many great games, gameplay wise probably BB is the prime example, however input lags and performance due to PS4 power made it really frustrating to play (even after beating it once, after a while of break it made me feel like Im playing something else again, since inputs are so damn annoying). Meanwhile there is like audio-visual masterpiece as Persona 5, really fun full of trope game Yakuza 0 (overall probably the most solid game out there, except outdated engine that forces you to load shitload of scenes and some retarded maxing bars that takes years combined with these loading screens), excellent overworld exploration (literally 10/10 felt like a kid when it comes to this one) Zelda BOTW, audio-story masterpiece Nier Automata or visual-gameplay masterpiece The Witness, however this is totally different kind of game compared to the others.

Favorite aspects of the game?
I like the stagger and visceral attacks plus the fast saw cleaver, seen many a player in pvp who just go hard on big attacks with the chainsaw, ludwig, HMS only to be taken down by a shot or just quickly blasted with the cleaver. After defeating them several times they either switch to cleaver or rakyuo, though some guys got me with blades of mercy.
Also fuck pvp gank squads.

-Bloodvials require you to either grind enemies to drop them or grind enemies for the blood echoes and buy them. This is super fucking annoying when dealing with any tough bosses
-Lanterns don’t let you teleport between them in world meaning you need to go back to the fucking hunters dream and wait for that loadscreen every goddamn time you want to go anywhere else
-Shares the stupid hitstun mechanic with DS3 meaning that light spam weapons are the best thing to use
-Dodging and healing are both nearly instant and unpunishable, spamming dodge + heal basically removes any “”””””””””””””””””challenge“””””””””””””””””” the game could have had
-The online connection is completely fucked leading to extremely laggy fights
-The online balancing is completely fucked, most notably how a gunshot hitstuns you so 2-3 people can just spam that shit at an invader and win 90% of the time

Why isn't Bloodborne as acclaimed as other games this gen like Witcher 3 and RDR2? It's an absolute masterpiece and one of the greatest experiences I've ever had with a game. It never gets the praise it deserves for standing leagues above most games in this utterly shit generation with its level design, presentation, lore, art direction, literally everything. We all know that the Last of Us 2 is going to come out and every fucking journalist known to man is going to call it the best game of the gen and the best game ever made. How anyone can have faith in this industry when God of War 4 gets more attention from critics than Bloodborne is beyond me.

Hard and long games are already less likely to get too much attention, and the exclusivity of the title makes it more obscure by restricting access to other players on different systems while also leaving it prone to consolewar shitheads. Also, games with lore tucked away require an interest beyond a surface level.

Just look at how exclusivity effects BotW. I guarantee more people would love it if it was available on playstation. Or for example the lore in destiny, which is very in depth but hidden away, making only those who are interesting in looking aware of the interesting story. Factors such as these all limit the casual players ability to appreciate such titles on a deeper level.

Just my guess anyway. That said, people here suck bloodborne's dick. Hope it is as good as you people say because I still need to get around to playing it.

I agree with you overall, but Breath of the Wild is a unique situation for an exclusive. The devotion ($$$) to getting BotW playable on CEmu/PC was unprecedented. Breath of the Wild was playable on PC before most people could even find a Switch for sale.

once i discovered how fun the beast hunter saif is i couldn't go back

currently going a NG+ run using one thats under upgraded, which by the way if youve played the game a million times and are bored, is the best way to set the difficulty to be as challenging as you need it to be while also allowing you to use whatever weapon and armour you want right off the bat. its been a breath of fresh air for me

its a fun and rewarding action game with some great creature designs and absolutely god tier boss fights where game play, visual, and sound design all come together in the best way possible to create genuinely memorable experiences that will leave your heart racing and your mind begging for more. its certainly not perfect but its strengths far outweigh its weak points. also the DLC is a 100% must have
