One of my favorite games this gen but I don't think Nier really fits in with this chart

Wonderful 101 should be god tier, so should God Hand, DMC 5 in great tier

DMC3's only good bosses are Beowulf, Agni and Rudra, and Vergil 3. The rest range from mediocre to actual trash. Need I remind you of Leviathan, Arkham, doppleganger, and gigapede? None of the enemies are that fun to fight either. It was god-tier back then because there wasn't much else like it. Nowadays its not as impressive compared to what else is out there.

Streets of rage 2 should be on the list and on elder god tier.

So, why is DmC considered shit tier? I thought it was pretty fun, but that's literally the only game I've played from the list, so I don't have much to compare.
I've watched gameplay from revengeance and God hand, but not actually played if it's worth anything.

Needs Wonderful 101 in God Tier and Transformers Devastation in Great Tier (even if it's God Tier in my heart).

Combat system is overly simplified, and it doesn't help that its attached to dmc. If it were an original IP it'd probably land on ok tier considering God of War is edgy shit too. dmc2 is significantly worse than DmC so I have no idea why anyone would put them on the same tier outside of just being frustrated by its existence.

DmC is really half-baked in its combat and has really unintuitive controls, not to mention really mediocre weapons, relatively bland if decent platforming, and only one good boss fight (Bob). Not to mention the hilariously bad story and poor sound design (the shotgun has less punch to it than the pistols of every mainline DMC).

That said, DmC is easily better than DMC2 and Dante's Inferno in all ways but visual design and story.

DMC4 is great, this recent retcon of reality is very bizarre. If NMH is great there's zero excuse for DMC4 to not be there.

People give God Hand and Viewtiful Joe leeway because they're closely associated with people who made other games near the top of the list. Some people throw Vanquish into their rankings even though that's a cover shooter.

Madworld is more of a traditional beat-em-up than VJoe though.

Bayo 1 definitely superior to 2 in the long run but I think 2 is still a solid game. Certainly better than anything in OP's Shit Tier. More fun weapons than 1 and Tag Climax (and Rodin/Balder with it) really prop it up.

Also Bayo 1 is part of the trifecta mostly because it represents Platinum's style which contrasts with DMC and NG's styles. if you need a Platinum game I'd rather it be W101, so the Trinity is DMC3or5/W101/NGB

DMC1 is more grounded but it will feel familiar to a small extent as it started the series and sub-genre. It started life as a Resident Evil title so it feels like a cross between that and a hack and slash.

DMC3/4/5 are closer to DmC but obviously have much better controls, visual design, bosses, weapons, etc. 4 was a very rushed game but the core combat is there (and 4SE's five unique characters give you plenty to play with).

Please. Story is very subjective I personally find it shit. But for the love of god the combat is awful. Even if you can pull off combos in this game smashing the same attack button has the same effect. The skill ceilling is so low it makes the gameplay bad.

Actually explain why you think it's bad, because I like it specifically because it does a number of things no other game in the OP image does to great effect, like changing the nature of weapon loadouts by having them all available at once and accessed via different motion inputs. The shmup/arcade-style sections are way better than Bayonetta's, and the QTEs are way less punishing and give you unique comedic clips if you do manage to fail. It's also got one of the better stories in the sub-genre, even if only a handful of the characters have time to get developed.

I think more people need to try the indie takes on these types of games. Marlow Briggs, Assault Spy, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, Aces Wild, etc. All really solid games. They're not masterpieces but they fill the void if you're burnt out on the games you know but don't want to switch to another genre.
