It just works, you can try it right now if you have a spare keyboard. Obviously you still have to have one player use WASD+UIJKetc while the other uses arrow keys+numpad but it's still more comfortable than crowding around a single keyboard.

it plays exactly like you would expect a fighting game to play. the only difference is that when you are far from your opponent the A and B buttons also launch projectiles, but once you are close they act like normal light and heavy attack buttons. (C always launches projectiles and D dashes).

I really loved how Capcom translated Nemesis into a fighting game character for MvC, but when it comes to fighting game originals, I have to go with Maxima. Being a grappler is fun, but being fucking drenched in Super Armor is much better.
