How did overwatch seemingly die overnight?

Cooldown shooters should've never existed anyway. Fucking infinite ammo too.

terrible balancing followed by politics pushing

>view bots

proof?

Tf2 still alive and probably whit more players than cancerwatch

It didn't die overnight. It's been months since there aren't new players. They are surviving on the Overwatch League and smurf accounts. And people get smurf accounts because the ranked system is fucking trash. And a big part of ranked being trash is because characters either deal way too much damage or do way too much healing. And it's been like this pretty much since launch.

So yeah, it didn't die overnight. People got tired of waiting Blizzard to do something and jumped off the sinking ship as soon as a better/cheaper alternative appeared.

They added Ana. Ana had an incredible amount of burst heal as well as being a sniper who could delete people. So they buffed Mercy and the other healers to make them more competitive supports.

Mercy became incredibly overpowered, now you have two absolute must pick supports with crazy healing, this means tanks just can't die. Dive meta and ult economy become big deals. The high mobility heroes like Tracer and Genji are the only ones who can break through by assassinating the healers. This persists for an entire season.

Then they add Brigitte to counter them, except she is completely unbalanced and counters everyone not just those two. This again persists for an entire season.

Mercy gets reworked, tanks get nerfed, Brig gets nerfed. Now Tracer and Genji reign supreme every game, burst meta and ult economy never fixed. But the damage is already done and they did very little to fix it for years and years. Everyone is sick of this shitty meta with fixed comps and boring conservative playstyles and "press Q to win" battles.

Meanwhile they start banning people for using off-meta picks or just talking to each other.

Mostly due to Battle Royales.

It was the game to copy for a while and devs would have continued to make their "inspired" version of it, but battle royals became the one to rip off.

There are a lot of players that just play whatever is popular.

Not him, but they do give out skins for AFKing while watching OWL. So basically bots, no one actually cares

because pic related
