This game is actually amazing what the fuck
This game is actually amazing what the fuck
I know, right? Easily better than Tidus' game.
The dress changing is like if I was playing a magician girl game with amazing tranformation sequences.
The story, most of the music, and the overall tone are all pretty bad, IMO. Everything else was okay though.
Combat is the only good thing about the game. Everything else sucks ass.
Artificial difficulty
I love the soundtrack
The story is just as terrible as it get shit for and finding certain things or getting 100% completion is absolutely retarded without a guide. The music is also a major step down from X. The combat and job system is easily the best aspect though and one of my favorite in the series and it's the only thing that redeems the game and makes it worth playing.
I honestly don't get what people see in ATB, like turn based is straight up better to me
you're right, if someone prefers x-2 combat to x then they go on my rpg shitlist
Tension and timing actions. You may not accept it, but that's it.
As a kid the only FF games I ever owned were 8 and x-2.
I liked them both desu.
Combat is excellent of course, but the story and tone is absolute slap in the face to fans of FFX. Yuna went from death cult summoner to a fucking pop star. I'm still salty about this shit. My chick at the time, who was forced to sit through dozens of hours of FFX, fucking laughed when she saw it.
Fuck you, Squenix.
The ATB in X-2 is like Chrono Trigger though, it flows incredibly well and actually enhances the combat.
FFX system was great, if easily exploitable.
ATB is better because you can input commands while animations are playing, making you more consistently engaged.
It felt like it got too easy if you do all the sidequests though due to levels. I wondered if there was a way to keep the difficulty up to a decent level.
Why are the HD remakes so bad! I hate it!
It was OK but I think most people praised it for the cute girls and playing dress-up.
Not me, I don't like them. It's all about the dresspheres' level up customization freedom and the battle system, which gets way too easy and lowers the game below V and III as a Job System game, even if it had the potential to surpass them, but I'll take it.
This. This game is way too easy. All the options are completely useless to me since I just use attack button to win. The final boss is pathetic too. I think 5 normal attack from YRP is enough to kill him.
I liked the job system in Bravely Default, pity about that one infamous bit or it'd be a pretty solid game.
people hype up the ATB but as only one action can go on at a time, if everyone is doing like 15 second long attacks it might as well be turn based. I don't like how the "post-game" basically requires you to cheese it either.
Yep, longing to replay them for years
Still got both the x and x-2 originals lying around somewhere but no console to play them on. My toaster is incapable of emulating either
Sad times
I liked the imrpoved ATB system most myself, the way some skills/spells would effectively lock the character using it and the target in the animation but other characters could still use 'immediate' type skills
It felt so satisfying cheesing the bullshit bosses using 10,000 needles, the high crit on low health accessory with bullet time, and the third character doing a bit of extra damage or healing as needed, and otherwise fucking with turn order
those moments where all the mechanics come together like solving a puzzle are what really makes good jrpg's worthwhile
