Equalizing buffer
Sometimes you produce so many items, you need stops in place so your belts don't get overclogged and nothing moves

Is there a guide on how to connect stuff to a bus?
I know how to make them and how to feed factories out of them but what does the start of a bus look like?

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, how do you about having to use 3000 belts of distance to get your initial Iron and Cooper connected into it?

Do you just say it and do spaghetti belts?

Trains and unloading stations.
Identify the site for your main bus and then create a large area around it where trains can come and just offload a product onto the bus
See image

There are tons of ways to design and unloading station but you always wanna have the trains moving to meet demands

I should add: I have an array of smelters behind my main bus that are fed from unloading stations.
Don't be afraid to experiment and play with designs, find what suits you. Bots really make this less of a chore

It's like an RTS where you control one single builder unit.

Sell me on this so I can but this instead of BallisticNG
