i just can't get morrowind to click.. i get frustrated trying to find the random door i need, consulting a map feels tedious having to alt tab, in game map is garbage..

the icons for items are all really ugly and don't look like something i want to pick up, i did get a mod for icons but it's not much better

Starting out the leveling system seems a bit grindy but I don’t want to be that guy who complains about it, combat doesn’t seem as hard as people make it sound but moving around does seem very slow

Both are really understandable issues, actually. I've been playing since the game came out on and off, and I mod both away.

For leveling, get something like Galsiah's Character Development, or Natural Growth and Decay. This removes the need to micromanage your stat increases and sleep to level up, and allows you to simply progress by playing the game. It's a huge relief.

For speed, there's plenty of mods that up your movement speed, and I'd get something that increases carrying capacity and whatnot too.

Yeah, that kind of thing really pulls you out of the game. You probably also want to get one of the state-based health mods, one of the ones that gives some minor magicka regen based on willpower, and probably one that reduces the effect of low fatigue somehow.

In terms of making it "feel" better, there's lots of UI fixes that will bring it up to something near modern standards; high res fonts, journal mods, things like that. You can really kind of just look around and find mods to alleviate almost any issue you could have. You mentioned an icon replacer; there's several of those, you could try some of the others if the one you found is no good.

I know there's some really nice map mods, too, higher resolution and things like that.
