non linear ruins the story in a game
how do i filter images?
And as we all know, story is the most important aspect of a video game.

What the fuck hair style is that supposed to be? Zoomers don’t have hair like that and I say this as an 18 year old literal high schooler.

I love the procedural generation tag because it immediately tells me the developers didn't think themselves capable of producing any content worth my attention.
Because back then they were seen as an elusive goal not just because of the technical and hardware limitations, but because the developers chasing it intended to flesh out that space as closely to a real world as they could. These days, take your average talentless zoomer JS "coder" who uses any number of canned tools and asset flips to get away with putting in little effort. They flock to EZ-Bake world creation tools not because they want to use them as the primer for a masterful paint job, but because they can say "lol it's coated with something; I'm done now".
He finna boutta be slaw.
Nothing wrong with that.
I just like to pretend I am 8 years old again.
"Make it open world" remains the absolute dumbest, laziest input anyone could have for the future of any vidya franchise.
After it ages like fucking garbage in MGSV and BOTW people will wonder what was wrong with us
Well, Sonic Mania used CD quality audio, but yeah

It's funny how zoomers want non-linear open world games, but when they're given the option to just "roam around" and "do whatever they want", their gameplay just descends to following the main mission and eventually giving up with the game because "there's too much to do"
For me, open worlds today are too much of just hollow nothing, good example would be Borderland games, all that travelling with vehicles and occasional running on empty planes are fucking boring and waste of time, if it was constant action and sometimes resting at the occasional hub areas, they'd be better games. I haven't finished a single BL game because of this flaw.
Rarely are there open world games where you're constantly engaged and don't have boring moments of just running from point A to point B.
Yeah these are some serious red lights

How do you guys feel seeing Early Zoomers taking over and posting childhood nostalgia for the late 00s-early 10s things like Mineycrafta, iPhones, iCrappy, and Justine gayber? It feels kinda surreal, because that stuff used to widely be considered the "Downfall into shit era".
I would love an actually good open world, post apocalyptic base building game but those don't exist because every single one is made by some indie dev with 3 people and the games are on early access for 10 years
Amused, because I'm old enough to have been through this a couple times already. I would at least agree though that, for example, Minecraft nostalgiafags are even more tasteless than FF7 nostalgiafags. The bean counters follow the lowest common denominator, but instead of it having the decency to bottom out on a nice whole number, it's a tricky fractal. No matter how microscopic quality gets, you'll always have a new crop of acolytes ready to defend it until the day comes that they are shocked and appalled to see something they considered beneath their notice sprouting the new parts of the pattern.
