Gaming isn't dead, but its pretty bad for actual gamers. Gaming has become big business which means that its less about catering the gamer and more about hitting demographics.
Tim Follin said that he quit gaming once it started to get REALLY corporate because "creativity died". Even though he was known to not especially care for video games, this was the straw that broke the camels back for perhaps one of gamings greatest composers. But at the point is that he was 100% correct, and he said this shit 16 years ago, or thereabouts.
You can fight back over gaming being dead or not, but you are being disingenuous if you think its good or better than it used to be.
