I think they did this to deliberately fuck over the fandom's perception of Heavy.
Just like what they did woth Soldier.

I always assumed the change was because the voice actor couldn't make his voice like before, so they made him a silent character.

This and also remember that TF2 is 12 years old already and Heavy/Demo's VA was kinda old when it came out.

Heavy's quiet behavior occurs more often in the comics though, where voice acting wouldn't be an issue

Because none of the others follow the actual principles that valve has stated, given talks on, and published papers on. For example: clear silhouettes with rim lighting to highlight the silhouette against any background enables all classes to be distinguished at a distance, on any map, in any lighting. Having colorful characters is only one piece of the puzzle.

Re-reading them I did find them a bit annoying. Still like them but there are things I could care less about.
Soldier and his Russian thot were annoying and I found the Medic resurrection to be such an asspull. I thought it was really trying too hard to be funny and honestly shouldn't have had done it, especially since Scout and Sniper did similar shit right before.
