Killer Queen is kinda slow, and couldn't block a slow shard of glass coming at him when it caught him by surprise. He was only able to block the second one when he knew it was coming.

In that stupid novel it turns out Cars "remembers stands" when he sees them, and he gains the ability to talk anybody's stand into working for him. When they switch to his side, he gets a super powered version of them. So he gets a massively powered up version of The World, Made In Heaven, AND Killer Queen if I remember right.

Because stands in part 5 are physical, that's part of the reason Beach Boy is so powerful, it's one of the few stands that can just go through stuff.

Well again, his "stand" was just that he could steal anybody's stand and have a super requiem version of it. The only reason he wasn't unstoppable evil guy is because in that novel he's suddenly a good guy, because he came to respect Joseph and the Joestars after Joseph beat him.
