Why is Vergil so much easier to beat as Nero?
I'm not even talking about buster and regenerating DT. On DMD Vergil is so unrelenting when fighting as Dante, but against Nero he suddenly has almost no hyperarmor in DT and does piss poor versions of his attacks.
Does that mean he just goes easy on Nero on purpose?

How the FUCK do you S Rank mission 18? Nothing I do can get me to hit the S even when I actively prolong the fight. Do I seriously need to rely on the no damage multiplier for this mission? There’s a 0% chance I’m not getting hit in the boss battle, dealing with V’s 3 summons all at once is a fucking Nightmare (pun intended).

So been playing around with the character switcher CE table as V, a couple of things I've noticed.
>V has no animation for entering the qlipoth blood stream pipes and will softlock until you skip the cutscene. He'll still come out bloody though
>V cannot finish any other diverging point, at the part where all 3 see each other, each of their own respective enemies are immune to damage and lockon by V and his summons but can still hurt V and his summons
>V cannot kill Gilgamesh as he never turns vulnerable to a checkmate
>M1 and M17 still have their respective proper characters voiceovers play during the boss fight
>Enemy Shadow and Griffon are larger than V's version of them, Nightmare is same sized
>V cannot kill shadow and griffon, their orbs will be vulnerable to checkmate but doing checkmate will do nothing
>So far Vergil is the only one who has a unique V kill animation/quote, though as stated above I can't test on KC or Malphas

Based on what I've seen so far with V it depends. V and Dante should be able to go through sections where the grapple point is just used to cross a gap with ground underneath it as long as they have enough movement skills(ie:diverging point Nero's first grapple point). On the other hand when the grapple point doesn't have ground under it(ie: Nero's submerged buildings in mission 3) an invisible wall literally prevents you from jumping off so it's a no go for those ones.

Only tested the M17 Urizen but it's fairly generic, no voiceline either. For additional reference V does his standard backflip kick to finish off Nightmare, and he clips inside the Qliopth root in M1 for a quick animation as well

Can someone who has played SoS/DMD ending confirm for me is the infinite DT regen still a thing? Got nothing for mission 10 since Balrog is an easy S generator and I don't remember how I did it for M10 all that much. For mission 5 though spend as much time in S+ ranks in the regular fights because Geryon is a bit of a slog. For Geryon alternate your pets as one doing damage while the other acts as your main dodging tool. If one gets hit to below half HP swap it with the other pet. Neither of your pets should really be dying in the fight nor should you be dropping style all that much if at all due to getting hit. If you want to play it real safe save nightmare for rezzing/healing the other two or an i-frame in case you get caught in a slow field.

There’s a shower in that van. After beating the game on occasion Morrison is there talking to Dante and one of the girls while the other pokes their head out of the shower from time to time to listen.

It did with V, but they weren’t even his bosses. I feel like maybe they considered a boss rush for the Diverging Point missions and chose to condense them into just V’s mission for brevity’s sake. Still the most content in a DMC game to date but yeah the pacing in the last act is pretty iffy.

You only get infinite DT for 1st walkthrough, after that you won't have it even on easy or normal.

If you kill enough as Dante Vergil admits he won but the battle has just begun, if you fail Dante says it's a tie and wonders if they'll ever settle this.

That bit wasn’t affected by anything, it plays no matter what. If you beat enough enemies in the Nero credits sequence Nico says something like ‘you rock, little brother!’ and if you get more kills than Vergil or tie with him in the Dante bit then their dialogue changes too.

I hope DMC6 has Sin Dante Angelo and Sin Vergil Angelo boss fights. Then in the second last mission to see if you’re strong enough to take on the final boss you fight both of them at the same time.

Can you beat Secret Mission 12 without using Faust? I don’t have it equipped and it didn’t auto equip it so I figured it wasn’t mandatory but I can’t get this Empusa cunt to drink more than one blood puddle.

Not him and I don’t have it saved but the only character who looks any different is Nico, who has a more angular face in the concept art. The rest all look really close to their final designs.

Shadow can reliably snag a few hits after a side dodge but generally Griffon will be your most reliable tool in doing damage and keeping your style up against Geryon. You can also try DTing them to up their damage if need be.

How come vergil as a boss just either detects he's fighting V from the start or goes into grey execute me mode when the final blow's delivered with V's attacks (which is how i'd program it)
But V's bosses all have this weird scripting that doesn't let dante or nero kill them. they should adapt.

Sometimes the game looks blatantly PS3 game though. Especially city setting environments that is boarder than that bio-mutant setting space and the fields illuminated by bright lighting. fighting with Urizen outside is really ugly looking. Cut-scenes are precious, but in terms of in-game graphics, still sony first parties, such GOW and horizon top this. Well, maybe they compromise FPS, then they would make it more rich though.

Anyone else tried playing dmc 5 with steam controller? Its so good I’d even go as far as saying its how the game was ment to be played.

What's so different about it?

As good as the RE engine is, it took some sacrifices to get a game like running at 60fps on a base PS4, let alone 4K 60fps on a Pro and for there to be basically no drops. I can forgive some of the environments looking ass for that.

Ability to reprogram the bottom triggers as well as the placement of the d pad make combos even more fun to pull off

how do I time taunts? I feel like the window for taunting and actually getting style is weird this time around.
Also is there a way to tell if a taunt is actually working? sometimes I taunt in scenarios where I think it should work, then they take like 30 fuckin seconds to finish, and then I get no style from the taunt

I played it at a friends house and it seemed pretty good, guess it was just a low stress area for the system. I’ve been alternating between PS4 Pro and PC.

No idea about Pro, I imagine its doing fine. Base PS4 though, the demo was all kinds of fps drops everywhere.

ground taunting in this game feels a little useless to me, actually. It doesn't stop your style from sinking while you're performing them, and it just barely boosts it above the point where you started it, IF you manage to finish it while staying close enough to an enemy without it hitting you or running away. It only really feels useful as V, because you can build your style meter while taunting.
Air taunting is the way to go, but then agayin they're not nearly as fun or unique as the ground taunts.

The right thingy being a pad instead of a stick kills it for me.

It makes more sense when you view each mission as it’s own ‘episode’ of sorts but as a singular narrative it’s pretty much all over the fucking place. Trying an episodic format in the game where a single cohesive narrative was needed most was kind of a misstep imo.

She was kinda inoffensive in 4 I guess, but her sole role being a damsel in distress when the past three female leads (yeah I’m counting Lucia she was basically the only good thing in 2) were all heavily involved in the plot and did things of importance was pretty disappointing.

Yeah you can. Also I dunno how exactly to explain the timing but it’s pretty forgiving, just try it out yourself and you’ll figure it out quickly. I’m still not entirely certain on the timing to Max Act it but ordinary Exceed on it is really easy.

You know, that really bugged me. The first fight with Vergil had some nondescript music playing and the second one had electronica playing with the Devil Trigger remix playing. Hype at first but now that the hype has worn off I wish they had given Vergil's music more care into it rather than using more bland music and a remix of an existing song. 1, 3 and even 4 had some pretty dramatic music for their final bosses that stood out from the rest of the songs in their games which helped them stand out. All I'm really trying to say is I wished they followed the tradition of using orchestral music for the final fight for 5.

I don't think I'm finishing this game. The second half is garbage. Nero is the only fun character to play as. There are just too many badly designed enemies like the nobodies, the scythe dudes, and the big worms, where none of them telegraph their attacks at all so you always get hit if you're not at a distance spamming guns.

There's potential here but as it stands this is a 5/10 game at best.

Same here. RE2 runs like a dream but I get occasional stutters here and there which are fucking unbearable. Mission 1 is literally unplayable for me now since I always get a black screen on "HOLD THE LINE" cutscene. Updating my drivers fixed my crashing problems immensely but it wasn't a perfect fix. I've heard switching from DirectX12 to 11 helps but I'm sick of hearing that since it was already on 11 to begin with.

Upgrade. i5 6500 8GB DDR4 here and any graphical tweaks or changing directX wont help me in that regard. Didn't help me and I've got it on an SSD. The only thing that keeps it from from being unplayable is a GTX1070 thats doing all the work but the game has serious paging issues and they cause micro freezing during cutscenes and in-game. Until everything's loaded and then the game runs smoothly but its still an unsolvable issue.

PC gaming still raping wallets is inexcusable but gotta sell those overpriced chipsets each year I guess.
