It's like getting a rebalance stat buff, only more fun and an interesting take on teambuilding. You can also put this on Mega Regigigas so now when three regis die you send out Regigas, mega evolve, and have 250% defenses before accounting for your actual stat buffs from Mega.

All the trios suck because in combat they don't actually have anything to do with eachother. Half the time their best thing is sharing a theme but you generally don't want to run them all together, so you just pick the best of the group and the others are forgotten because they're just not as good.

Many would argue the anime is not canon (or at least not as much as the games, where it's two syllable), which is also the only place where Regice says its own name. However, it does say it a lot more than anyone says it in the games.
Movies are less than that tertiary, but there's also instances of trainers saying it in the normal anime.
Pokedex 3D pro is where most of the "official" pronunciations are found. Also where I first saw Pineco pronounced as Pine-co rather than Pine-eco.
The point I was trying to get across is that it doesn't matter, both pronunciations are considered official. You can say it either with two or 3 syllables, neither is actually wrong.
