They are actively working on a Souls game right now. They just won't say anything until after Sekiro is out.

Yes, it's very good. I marathoned it over a few days last year. Second season is a little less put together than the first, but overall it's a great show.

To be fair the creator didn't even want to do a second season but was pressure by Adult Swim to finish it.

after Dark Souls 3, I'm glad that the Souls series has gone dormant. It would be so easy for them to print money just rehashing DS3 and I feel they would because DS3 had already run dry on ideas.

Well that was also stupid because the first season finale was a massive blue ball. I mean the series finale was Chiaki typical but it was still a better ending than what the first season could have given.

Well, because it took 3 years after DaS 1 for DaS II to come out, and 2 years after that for III.

Dark Souls 3 is the grimmest of them all, its message is EVERYTHING IS FUCKED AND THERE'S NO FIXING IT and it takes a big retroactive shit on any character that linked the fire back in 1.

And Bamco didn't so much murder it as force it to live longer than it should have.
DaS2 was handed off to others within the studio (for better or worse) while Miyazaki made Bloodborne, and then he cobbled together DaS3 with all of the stuff that didn't make the cut for Bloodborne.
All to satisfy the Bamco contract that started with DaS.
