The only kinds of game I think Berserk would work with is either a hack-and-slash like the two we already have, or a Zelda-like where you control Guts on a huge adventure in a vast open world and you need to both solve puzzles and fight enemies.

Make a more grounded DMC-styled game with the atmosphere of Demon's Souls.
Add in a lot of wandering around and exploring large environments and towns and there you go, Berserk game.
This will never happen because the IP isn't profitable enough and the only studios who can do it justice are occupied with other games, or simply don't exist.

thats not the same thing at all. the boat took a long time because he fought a bunch of fucking pirates and monsters and there were mermaids and shit. casca got her mind back after maybe 5 issues in her dream world, and then he switched to fucking fast-traveling griffith and friends for 3 chapters, and there was months of waiting between then when i thought it would continue with the real story.

I haven't completed it yet. But it does start with golden age. They use a lot of cutsenes from the movies though, up until the eclipse. After that its in-engine, witch some questionable facial animation and dialogue
