When I start mission 1 the whole game is back screen except for lens flare effects. It only does it on mission 1, and it's pretty weird because it didn't do that the first time. Any got the same issue/knows how to solve this?

Calibur to close gaps, Shuffle cancels, the triple jump ability (hop off i think was called?), the Air taunt and Gerbera like you said, and also side rolling and jumping have i-frames on the start up animation, funfact, if you get hit by Urizen's timeslowdown balls and start jumping you will be completely inmune to damage during it's entire duration since it multiplies your i-frames by 4 or so

Something you should add if you can, the game itself says that human blood is the source of demon power, Nero is more human than Vergil and Dante, so would sorta make sense of why he is stronger

If Dante had answers, he would've used them during the Savior fight. He didn't because he couldn't. He had to rely on Nero to handle it from the inside. They even imply he's having a little bit of trouble, why else would he tell Nero to hurry up?

You know, I once heard Todd Howard say that he wants to "make people proud they bought" [his] game. Now I've never felt that about a Todd Howard game, but am I proud I bought this game. I'm proud i preordered it even. How long I waited for games to come out and they fall apart, they're shit, their developers don't care what their players want. Not this game, this game knows what you want and is happy to give it straight to you. After rethinking how the levels are actually designed, and I do think now that their straight paths and lack of puzzles or large areas is meant to keep you focused on thing: Fighting demons, this game is an actual 10/10. Game of the year, looking at future releases this year, is easy at least for me, but this game pushes game of the decade for me. Physical OST when?

The environments themselves are rather varied, but the use of colour in the game gets very samey at the halfway point. It makes it all kind of blend together and become unremarkable.

It was kino for the final fight but on repeat playthroughs it's kind of stupid that it just materializes when you're out of Devil Breakers (The game tries to write this off as being "gloves" but it's clearly not since they're the same robot arms.) Also his human arm seems to clip with his Devil Trigger.

Also I sort of wish the Devil Bringer was actually the Devil Bringer and not just the ghost arm.

What does Balrog look like as a demon?

It's explained in Before the Nightmare. Basically, Lucia was having trouble with a demon on the DMC2 island and called Dante for help. It turned out that after defeating Berial in 4, a new demon showed up as the leader of the Fire Hell. Dante and Balrog fought and it was a neat match. OG Cerberus got wrecked in the process though. Balrog realizes he's fighting the Son of Sparta and basically gives in and forces Dante to take him along as a Devil Arm, saying that the time he'll spend with Dante is training so that they can have a rematch some day. Dante also tries to get him to stop talking but he refuses.

I put Devil Breakers on the D-pad and Devil Trigger on the LB. It just feels right.

It's 80 maple bucks here. I like the music and the coverart is pretty nice, just wanted something physical since I bought the game digital.

Balrog gets rid of them just by jumping.

Jumping usually works pretty easy, but you can jump Circle/B with E/I in Gunslinger to shoot them off. I think Cerb can break them pretty fast for melee option as well.

V wanted any help he could get, Lady and Trish are pretty strong and Dante was surprised they lost to a demon. Looks like Morrison isn't really familiar with Nero, at least not enough to work with him. And Dante would probably refuse

Lots of ways, you can uses Kalina Ann's gunslinger air move close to the ground. You can shoot your shotgun, DT, jump with Balrog. Storm swords in this game is super non threatening.

Tomboy is too strong so to balance it they nerf the style gain, you have to kind of incorporate it into a combo as a finisher rather than use it outright sadly.

So if devil arms can become weapons voluntarily and can even deny their wielder's desires at times, is it plausible that the devil bringer is just a really fucking clingy Devil Arm that Nero got by accident while fighting that refused to ever let him get other ones by binding itself to his hand.

Maybe its cause it has like 4 moves? Have you tried turning it off more often?

No, Devil Bringer was just an unconscious manifestation of his own demonic power. Since Nero grew up hating demons, the prospect of being a demon himself was just too foreign. So his power manifested in other ways. When he was accepting of his heritage as Vergil's son, he was finally able to properly manifest it with some motivation

I'm still getting loading stutters/freezing but after everything's loaded, the game's fine. Needs a beefy cpu in general I feel, way more than what recommended specs say.

When the taunt is complete it bumps your rank by a letter, sometimes a letter and a half (ex taunt bumps you all the way to S) there's a huge cooldown on taunts affecting style so you can get off maybe one, two tops if the fight lasts long enough. Air taunt and ground taunt shares this cooldown and the difference in gain doesn't seem much different so there's no drawback to airtaunting, especially with Nero who can rev during it or use it gain air while Dante's seems to count as a hit and juggles. For the most part ground taunts are for looking cool but can be impossible to use on aggressive enemies so they're forgiving on the air ones. I also notice taunts seem to have a hard time bumping you into SSS, so if you do it on fresh A it'll put you at high A for example, but I've used it on a partial S and gotten SS so it seems to be a set number of style points. Also if you get hit at any point it seems to instantly reset the taunt timer, I find it best to use taunts around the B/A range or liberally as Nero just to get around in style. V is the exception, his entire gameplaying is built around him taunting and chilling as his demons go Devil Trigger automode letting you get easy SSS ranks while listening to some classical tunes.

there is but it takes wayto long to come out like i kill 3 enemies with the Y combo before Nero jumps and smash everyone on the ground who was getting hit by it, its prety crazy but getting it is the problem

I felt the same. Dante feels much smoother and I like the wide variety of options it gives. Also like he's not as impossible to control as he was in 4. I can finally be cool with him again without clawing

I'm not sure about dmc5, but you can find them for dmc4. that's how I learned to exceed properly and my timings carried over to 5 easily

I would say that it's pretty cut and dry that the summons are why V is dying and the merge forcing them out is what saved Vergil and was V's plan.

for 10 try to S+ every single fight and look out for any chance to fight, for 18 S rank the cat to secure to style points or do the same as 10, ignore random enemies that doesn't block your path unless you can get enough style on them

Silent Hill 2 used to be my favorite "feels" horrorkino, now its SOMA. It's definitely a walking sim (though there *are* monsters that can kill you, it's just that they can be disabled if you want but its plenty spooky without them all the same. I've played both with and without.)
