Also, Japan has not done the "games as a service" model, they also have some love for the games that they make and want to make them good. There are a few western developers that i like, but now i look forward to Japanese games more than western games. Like Sekiro, Nioh 2, Granblue Fantasy Re:Link and Babylons fall. Only games that i want that are Western is Cyberpunk 2077 and Outer Worlds.

Yeah, the whole thing with Japanese developers was, after Western games took off, they went into this huge existential crisis. Can thank Keiji Inafune for that one, at least partly. Took a few years for the moonmen to realize foreign audiences liked their games for what they were.
