I guess the real takeaway is that the other two tanks are even worse, not that DRK itself is fun, but that's how it be.

And we don't have an exhaustive history, but the game makes it abundantly clear several times in the MSQ that the Ala Mihgans are routinely exploited and have been for most of their time there.
Ishgard didn't want an expansionist neighbour. They just don't think Garlimald is an immenent threat, also they had omens of Nidhogg waking up so they were in extra dragon mode.

You have to do the sidequests that open up to unlock the raids, trials, and dungeons. Google em.
Look for a quest called Legacy of Allag in Mor Dhona (I think) to get it started.

Really it's time we just face facts: they are using an objectively worse, obsolete control scheme in an MMO. Don't even try to defend them here, that's completely asinine. The way crossbars work you have to click 4 different buttons to reach a skill that doesn't happen to be one of the few available on the bar you are using. Even worse if its on the pet bar. And you still have to switch back when necessary, more button presses. They end up spending three to four times as much presses to do what a M+KB is doing. And then the targetting! Fuck, a controller player has to scroll through EVERY. SINGLE. TARGET. To get what they want. With a mouse you just click, and done. Like .5 secs if you have fat hands. Plus mouseover macros, another amazing tool out of the reach of controllerfags.

You can't level them fast without money.
You can use both at the same time. Its common for people to use controller to play and have the keyboard hotbar hover above the controller layout to monitor cooldowns and use text/marker macros.
Also look into using the extended controller hotbar in the settings. It will allow you to fit like 50 something skills on controller.

But there are still some that live in Gridania and work as soldiers and Wood Wailers. Speaking of Wood Wailers, the masks they wear are because even when undertaking tasks given by the Elementals and Padjal, they still accumulate Woodsin. The masks are meant to try and disguise them from the wrath of the Elementals, and even then they have to undergo regular cleansing ceremonies. Elementals are fucked.

Tanks are the easiest/comfiest role by far in the game. You have first in queue privileges, always get bonus rewards because you're in demand in duty finder, and you don't have to worry about optimizing hard like healers or DPS just only keep aggro and not die.

It used to have meaning when it was first introduced but now it's a joke since anyone can obtain it by buying level boosts or botting crafting/gathering. They really need to update the requirements for 2019 because it's still stuck in 2016. At the very least make each crown type have it's own unlock requirements. The controls are made for jumping. The problem though is that how far you jump is tied directly to your framerate. Same with other physics things like boob bouncing. Lower FPS = more exaggerated jiggling and the farther you jump.

They hired out as THE premier mercenaries for a long while. They also basically controlled the passage between Aldenard and Ilsabard which made them an important part of the trade route from Aldenard to Othard. This lasted more or less until Ul'dah gained control of Thanalan and established eastern sea routes. Ala Mhigo didn't really have a major port, given the location, so their trade importance quickly dwindled as it was quicker and cheaper to go over sea than over land.
Their incursions into Gridania were basically attempts to gain more farmland. When that ended in disaster for Ala Mhigo, there were a bunch of dissatisfied soldiers who came home empty-handed. This is the period when the Fist of Rhalgr order came to religious power in the nation, but later Theodoric came to power and well, that whole mess was why the monarchy came to an end and why Ala Mhigo was subjugated in the first place.

WoWfag here, the amount of buttons in FFXIV are about the same as it was in Wrath/Cataclysm so I'm used to it. What takes time getting used to is the global cooldown and netcode when it comes to passing things like tethers.
duty finder/party finder is a datacenter wide thing, so it doesn't matter what server you pick. it only matters what datacenter you play on as that's what you will see. also, next month or so they're introducing cross world visiting through the aetheryte so you can visit other servers on your datacenter and take advantage of their auction house or higher population. you still retain your double exp bonus too since your home world is on a preferred world.

WoD only had 3 raids and nothing else added to it. Unless they cancel a patch BfA will total 4 raids and a two-boss miniraid, as well as another megadungeon and two new zones. Also 2, maybe 3 Warfronts total.
In the end, BfA will have as much content as Legion. They just fucked up big on their scheduling so the mini-raid and megadungeon are coming in the latter half of the expansion's lifespan instead of in the first half year.
People got bored fast as a result, and the Azerite system being ten times worse than Artifacts didn't help either.
But when I see these comparisons to WoD I can't help but roll my eyes because really, it was so much fucking worse. There's just this massive (granted, somewhat deserved) bias against AAA devs and publishers at the moment that is warping perception.

You can only reroll in pyros. You have to do pyros. Once you upgrade past Pyros, you must complete all Hydatos steps except the BA step if you want to reroll.

Explain why wow has the most rewarding and hardest endgame content then? XIV hardest content is cleared the day it comes out. People aren't paying 500+ dollars for an xiv carry and regularly do with wow. I love xiv but I don't lie to myself and pretend it's some kind of insane game when you can click and still do fine. Having a bloated 40 ability kit doesn't mean the gameplay is harder, you have an entire extra second between which is a lot. You don't need nearly the same level of reactive skill

Besides them there are another 130-210k which are always returning or new players which coincides well with the fact that most Census have had active characters floating between 530k and 610k active characters each patch.

You cant stomp around telling everyone they're not allowed to enter BA once their gang has joined your instance. Theres no such thing as 'sniping' something you dont own. Also I have joined them before and reported their healers that didn't revive me the one time I actually died. Yes im aware of how reviving works in there. I did successfully get some of them banned since they stopped logging in after that night.

XIV isn't gated, XIV has tons of quality of life updates that literally makes progression easier. XIV world first teams have literally 2-4 crafting teams for the groups competing in the race so that they're all Day 1 BiS to take on the fights. XIV has an actual rotation and or priority system on every job that makes most WoW classes laughable. Do everyone a favor and kill yourself faggot. I don't even need to go into the fact that it's clear that you're talking about savage (latest tier wasn't killed until the 3rd/4th day btw), but not even counting ultimate which took the best groups non stop raiding for over a week on both fights.

Exodus is pretty comfy. Mid pop, good balance of sprouts and veterans. A decent amount of people that have cleared ultimate and BA here. Also it's easy to find a house and chill FC here than on Leviathan/Gilgamesh where all the houses are taken and the FCs are mostly drama induced mass invite ones.
