no idea user. Also never played neverhood but looking into it rn
>might be nier/nier automato
>experiments a lot w gameplay systems and storytelling
>spastic combat
>calm atmospheres making you reflect on life itself
>looking like will be regarded as a classic
im going to get killed here but
>thinking it could be sekiro
>experiments with souls formula
>slow phaced ambient exploration
>but also high frenetic combat
however it's not that unpopular of a genre anymore plus it'd take years for us to know whtever it'll be regarded as a classic. Given From's pedigree i dont see it hard
It's a bad album, and Aphex is overrall a mediocre artist, there is no way around it.
aphex' albums were shit but he was actually very good live.

NeoTokyo is first to pop in my head, but it wasnt an unpopular genre

Gameplay was spastic high octane bunny hop across the map, and also super slow stealth ambush with atmospheric level and music.
Experimented with the visual/cloak system that no games done before. One guy can turn camo, one guy can see heat signatures, one guy has vision that senses movement.
Definitely a cult classic
But Round based FPS games arent popular genre, at least not at the time. There arent many now, Just CS and R6 siege with roundbased no respawns. There were a million back then.
arent *unpopular*
Wheres my reddit edit button.
