They basically removed social playlists and replaced them with a custom game search option where you say what games(CE, 2C, 2A, 3, 4)/gametypes/game sizes you want and it searches faster for you and your party. They also improved network stability so parties drop players less frequently, though it's still a picky game that demands a good connection with a strong NAT. A custom server browser is rumored to be coming in a few weeks, as is Halo: Reach integration.

Halo was not originally supposed to be an arena based shooter after the first game but rather focus on large scale multiplayer battles similar to Battlefield. The multiplayer lead has said this multiple times with only Halo 5 having the time to follow this with warzone.
Halo Infinite has "unlimited" time so I would expect more of that.

They've fixed the multiplayer. It works perfectly fine now, although it's mostly just slayer variants across 4 games. There is a "Matchmaking Mixtape" feature that allows you to choose specifically what game mode to play though.

They're planning on adding a server browser like Halo 5 has this year, as well as Halo Custom Edition map support for Halo 1. They are also very aware of the demand for Reach, and will be the enxt thing they work on probably after a PC release.

Hmm. All of the games in the MCC run at 1080p/60fps, or at least very close, though. I thought the only things that were 30fps were some cutscene animations. For instance, Halo CEA in the MCC plays and feels a million times better than the PC port. If the version that's currently in the MCC is what's getting ported I really don't have any issues.

The hall campaigns are peak early-mid 00s shooter design. Every level is visually distinct and all have unique, memorable combat encounters. There's a few levels in Halo ce that get old fast and some in Halo 2 (and one in 3) worth skipping entirely (mostly related to the flood). But they're genuinely great single player shooters. Mouse aiming is the only missing ingredient.
