It's not hard, you're just trying to play it like a Souls game by dodging enemy attacks. It's actually way easier than Souls games, you just have to block everything. Dodge is basically useless in Nioh, and blocking is 100% immunity to damage no matter what, and you can start blocking in the middle of taking a combo to the face.
It's pretty arcadey like that.
