Ace Combat

How do I git gud at multiplayer? What's the meta for parts?

You don't.

don't bother. MP is a shitshow. just try some wacky builds out like fishbed with full gunpods and mig31 sanic speeds and call it a day

also

>lend game to friend
>a week passes
>ask him how he likes
>"uuhhi got stuck on mission 12, i might try it again at some point i dunno"

jesus how can people actually be this bad at the game. i understand not getting good ranks but not being able to pass the missions on normal? what the fuck.

Attached: 1548078020084.jpg (444x501, 26K)

I'm playing it right now and it's pretty fun
Though I am doing EML only builds so that's probably why

SASM or QAAM spam, because that's what everyone's going to do to you

i can't into EML at all. in MP i only enjoy low point no special wep lobbies where i build for guns and spray niggas down or going FAST in the mig31 with SAAMs

MiG-21. Seriously. Get the parts that make your missiles faster and home in better. The rest is up to you. I like to have extra acceleration and deceleration and lower stall speed parts.

Just try and watch normies play it on youtube. Most don't know how to switch targets, will fire missiles that will obviously miss, fire at targets that aren't locked on, accidentally switch to special weapons and not switch off until they use them all, use flares the second their HUD turns red, try to shoot enemies 100 miles away with the guns, crash into the ground, try to make sharp turns with full afterburner, and of course play with beginner controls.

Qaams and sasms can easily be evaded with the right parts
The EML is legitimately game-breaking, it doesn't give a warning and it can't be evaded, I once MVP'd a match with 2 minutes to go using nothing but the EML

Attached: download (2).jpg (1920x1080, 291K)

i warned him about most traps man. i told him to track enemies with Y/triangle holding, told him to go for "expert" controls from the start cause "normal" ones are gimped. he's played plane games before i just trusted that he wouldn't be an absolute retard.

i'm actually dejected over this. i thought well of the guy, now i almodst see him as one of the endless mouthbreathers on the internet.

>barely ever anyone playing on PC

P-PC Master race...

on the bright side, you're not missing out on much

Of course there's no one playing on PC, they'd have to actually buy the game to play MP

i still see/get into plenty of lobbies user, though it is unironically more lively during bug people primetime
like other people have said, EML is meta for spw lobbies, mig-21 is meta for non-spw lobbies unless you're running unlimited cst
i have come to believe EML is even more overpowered than QAAM now since there are a few ways to shake QAAMs, but the minute someone turns inside you with EML you are dead, guaranteed
i've only survived 2 EML shots, out of over 300 games played so far, and my highest score was like 210k in a TDM lobby using it, it's absolutely disgusting

the sad reality of pc gayming

Are there any upgrade parts not worth it in your opinion? I was trying to get the ace on mission 13 and I realized the damage, range, and reload upgrades for the standard missiles weren't making a noticeable difference to me.

you can thank reddit for organizing the review-bomb that killed the game

Attached: 1551975691497.jpg (1063x396, 95K)

Unlimited no spw rooms are fun.

lock on range, speed, and homing for standards
load limit for sp weapons is a must

damage upgrades for reg missiles are useless. reload can be useful if you're just THAT fast with lining up shots. flight speed and range are overall the most useful upgrades for standard missiles.

Of course it was leddit that bitched about 'muh flightstick!'

damage tends to fair better on specific spws in my experience, you'll need to play around with it to get a feel for what seems stronger/more effective though, i always run damage when using PLSL and TLS for example, and sometimes with HCAA
for missiles, homing+reload is always enough to me
for body upgrades, queens custom and then speed parts, switch out for maneuver parts for boss fight missions

Then he can go play Ass Whore with his flightdick. AC7 is a good game and it's strengths greatly outweigh its shortcomings.

Music to my ears knowing that people aren't eating up that dogshit of a multiplayer

>mig31 sanic speeds
Shit that sounds fun. How viable is it?

imagine not knowing how to use x360ce

quite viable. you'll be flying through the clusterfuck at 3000+ kph. by the time someone turns around to get a shot on you, you'll be out of lock on range.

make sure to get the level 2 performance parts otherwise you wont be FAST enough

Attached: MiG-31_01.jpg (1600x1067, 336K)

your success depends entirely on how smart the people in your lobby are
if they're a bunch of straight flying slow speed shitters you're going to have a field day
if they're actually decked out with proper parts and know what they're doing i don't think you'll do much
it's extremely fun outrunning missiles though, especially when you get a group of shitters on you and they not only can't catch you but their missiles can't either, and even if they do get a hit if you're packing something like bulletproof 2 it won't matter lmao

even if the enemies are smart, if you play smart yourself you should at least score a couple hits and no deaths

Should i pack some acceleration parts too? How viable is this strategy in non-spw lobbies?

i pack the acc+spd lvl2 and the spd lvl2 parts. you'll only be decelerating near map limits anyways.

not very viable i'd say. the extra damage from LAAMs or SAAMs. the range is arguable. i haven't decided if it's better to fire from ~4km or waiting to get closer and essentially shotgunning them at mach3.

also, spw flight speed lvl2 helps immensely

I wish the game had Ace Zero style ace squadrons, I feel like every game should have squadrons you fight around the beginning, middle, and end of the game

You're not wrong. It's always fun to get in dogfights against ace squadrons, no matter how easy or bullshit they are. Half the fun in an AC game is feeling like some aerial demigod, and there's no better rush than annihilating ace squadrons.

bros...

>Total Cost: Unlimited
Fuck NPCs who only play unlimited. They can't appreciate other planes or playstyles at all.

Attached: 60016.jpg (989x768, 67K)

Rafale with HCAA to kill qaam shitters. Don’t bother though 95% are just the host double/triple teaming in free for all with their faggot friends.

The AC2 remake was cool for adding in Ace squadrons AC0 style, I wish it could've been made for console or PC as well instead of just being a 3DS game.

I'm thinking of starting a AC2 remake
Is it any good? Does it emulate well?

no only flight time
don't ever use checkpoints unless you restart as soon as you hit them

it's only good for farming QAAM kills

waiting for mods and a sale

Just pirate it or play one of the older entries first. You can always buy the game later.

>actually replying to the antiAC7cuck

>only just now unlocked all the ace skins
>haven't even begun S-ranking every normal mission yet
haha... hah...

who says i havent played it or any previous titles already

it's nothing, try the 76500 challenge

tfw sniping plebs with EML

>dabs on everyone with EML
>everyone uses their EML planes on the 2nd round
i fucking hate this

>everyone uses their EML planes on the 2nd round and they're shitters so they can't hit you regardless

lmao I dab on these f22 QAAM shitters all day. sniped one from 10,000 km the other day

I'll take reload over flight speed any day, it's just more useful and homing does the job better.

actually, i used EML as a close range weapon and i always got in a furball on battle royales, that's why as soon as i hit 1st place, everyone had their EML on my ass, i hate it when that happens

Randomly died off screen. What the fuck.

Attached: ph_444_02_small.jpg (214x270, 35K)

Georg should've died not him

So I'm getting into the series starting with 4, and I feel like a retard asking this but how can I be sure I'm lining up shots with the machine gun properly? Should I be lining up the reticle that's just one circle with 3 lines on the enemy?

His fault for not sticking with trigger.

Kono said most of the finale was changed at the last minute because it was "too boring", like Daredevil wasn't even composed until the very final stage of development

i didn't care about the mechanic lady at all, the story should have ditched her, cut right to trigger getting arrested as the first mission, and spent most of the game focusing on the convict squadron instead. That concept along was way more interesting than anything else in the game

The plotline could have easily been filled with the redemption arc, instead the setup and strider missions feel tacked on. I would have kept the Spare arc going until the faceoff with Mihály, then had the redemption arc on the final coalition mission at the space elevator

yeah, line up the reticles and then fire

I enjoy shooting down EML shitters with my QAAM

That explains why the Raven Ravens just appear out of nowhere at the end to be a boss fight. I always thought they showed up incredibly abruptly.

Are you sure you're watching normies and not sub-80 IQ neanderthals
I mean holy shit AC7 was my first AC, I struggled for the first few missions but you basically HAVE to git gud in this game

ace combat narrations is always done by irrelevant characters
>AC4
the boy
>AC5
Genette
>AC0
Pixy's interviewer
>AC6
Victor, matilda's mom
>AC7
Avril, Dr Schroeder, Rosa

its literally impossible to get hit by missiles if you're good though. even QAAMS. missiles are just fundamentally weak

There are 3 'reticles' aside from the boxes around allies and targets. The W shaped one denotes which way your plane is facing. Theoretically it should always be in the center of your screen but obviously that will change as the camera moves. Then there's a circle with 3 lines that denotes which direction your plane is moving. If you're going straight it will be on top of the W but as you turn it takes a small amount of time for your plane's movement to catch up with the direction you're now pointing. Then there's a big circle with markings and a dot in the center. This will appear when you're close to a targetted enemy. Just line up the dot in the center of this circle with an enemy and your shots should hit. Sometimes you still have to lead your shots a bit ahead of the dot. Also, you don't always have to wait for the guns reticle to show up. Your guns have the same range as your missile lock on but the reticle only shows up when you get closer.

>Avril
>Schroeder
>Rosa
>Irrelevant
oh (You)

he's right though

>Are you sure you're watching normies and not sub-80 IQ neanderthals
What's the difference? I'm not subscribed to any ebin gamer youtuber, that's just what I see when I look up AC7 footage.

From all the stories Kono is telling, AC7's development was fucking Hell on Earth. I'm just thankful we even got to play this game at all

true, but you could have just had the cunt on the side, instead she was the focus of half the cutscenes. Schroeder was fine since he helped set up the Mihály and drone plotlines, and while the princess was annoying at least she was only in 2 or 3.

The vast majority of missions should have been spare squadron earning redemptions and clueing into the real reasons behind the war, instead it's only 10 or so missions, and the guy who tries to develop the plot gets teamkilled by AWACS, and then it only moves on once the Spare plotline starts

nothing is right when you barge in an emotional speech of a developer with 'i congratulate you, but your game sucks and you should die'

i think the game is rushed as fuck in terms of plot, where's mage and golem? what happened to bandog and mckinsey? i thought there are supposed to be multiple story paths but its pretty linear

Avril is relevant. She gives you that overpowered upgrade part to your plane. The part you keep even after she gets sent to shithole island and isn't maintaining your plane anymore.
That part is pretty stupid.

Aren't both of those issues already fixed by third party software?

when's the next bamco publisher sale

>Thinking the Belkan actually died when in reality he called in the two super AI

I've skipped the cutscenes after my first playthrough because of how cringey they were and don't remember a lot of things that happened. What upgrade are you talking about?

you mean the queen custom? i guess that's useful

You shouldn't need third party software just to make a stick work though. The devs went out of their way to disable any stick that wasn't one of the ones they were selling. That's really fucking lame.
People with ultrawides should probably just deal with it though. I don't know how they aren't used to games not supporting them by now, it's not like it's rare.

>10 thousand kilometres

That's Berlin to Madrid bruh

The writing for this game is a mess. I wonder how much executive meddling was on the part of Bamco. Remember that the microtransactions in Infinity convinced Bamco to give AC another chance.

>forgetting about the refugees and the radio and the lighthouse
l o l

*Beijing

I think most of the bad and confusing writing comes from the translation being really fucking weird

This fucking thing. Once you get it you should put it on every single plane and never take it off ever. Except in multiplayer, obviously.
It's fluffed as her taking extra special care of your plane but you get to keep it even when she's not doing that anymore, so that's pretty dumb. Though the plane tree is stupid in this game anyway. The story acts like Spare's planes are just restored junk, but the game doesn't think so. Just keep using the planes you unlocked as Mage. It's dumb.

Attached: qc.jpg (1920x1080, 189K)

That's called gameplay and story segregation you autismo.

What the fuck were the rest of Usea doing during the war? It seemed like it was just Osea and Erusea duking it out.

mage should have been a thing for one mission, just to set up how trigger went to prison. Too much development time went into setting up the war and arrest, when it just could have been asserted and then explored throughout the rest of the missions. Bandog's friction with McKinsey and the squadron should have also been a bit more fleshed out, there were great dynamics and plotlines that weren't fleshed out in favor of typical action plot and moving onto generic squadrons and the overarching plot being fisted into your face.

here's how it should have gone down
>1: Same as the in-game Rescue mission, War is declared and Trigger is a quick responder to rescue Harling. Shootdown happens, etc etc
>2: Attempted escape mission. Avril gets a plane working, time escape mission to teach evasion mechanics across the desert, end up getting caught but gives decoy idea to McKinsey
>3: Same as 444, word for word. More focus on bomber attacking to help teach attack angles and reliably hitting missiles/guns
>4: Another defensive mission, but this time against fighters, ends the introduction of concepts. Make it an evening mission that fades to night, to help new players get acquainted with instruments and UI tracking
>5: Offensive ground strike mission. Unlock A10 for players, teach ground attack mechanics, have the squadron offer air cover for Trigger to show off squad dynamics and flesh out character relationships and tension
6: Another offensive mission, Spare squadron stumbles into a bigger fight with Osean and Sol Squadron forces, barely escape with their lives. Introduces Mihaly plotline, makes Osean command aware that Spare squadron is somewhat competent, and also could be an opportunity for a token tragic death that always happens to a squadmate
>7-12: General wartime missions, not much plot development but cool scenarios like escorts, retrievals and that one canyon mission. Dive deeper into background of the war and the behind-the-scenes
cont.

i think most of them joined the IUN, just like most of them are ISAF back in 4

Yeah and it's dumb. The other games were silly in the same way with the having to buy better planes thing, but they didn't draw so much attention to it like 7 does.

>tfw didn't know that AC5 was a pre-order bonus only

poor lad, i guess its emulator for you

Why is Avril such a cuck?
>gets her plane she spent the past decade working on shot up the minute she gets in the air
>breaks her leg
>gets stuck in jail
>fixes planes for no payment
>gets attacked by dogs
>sees phone, notes that she could call for help but doesn't
>tries to strike a deal with the commander guy, he betrays her even though he had nothing to gain from doing so
>gets stuck on shithole island
>polishes Trigger's plane, he doesn't even say a word to her

(s)he fucks princess for living

Runs like shite unless you have a top tier PC.

>sees phone, notes that she could call for help but doesn't
>tries to strike a deal with the commander guy, he betrays her even though he had nothing to gain from doing so
I think the idea is that she did call in help, and that's why the commander allowed her on his plane instead of telling her to fuck off. Just then they decided they didn't like that plot point so she got left behind anyway.

>13: Spare squadron relocates closer to the enemy lines, strike runs against Farbanti. Quick, fast-paced missions. Bandog gets sacked by McKinsey, friction between the Major and the Squadron, big deal about defection or desertion, since you're not really soldiers anyway, brings emotions between squad members up before the next mission
>14: Satellite crash cascade, Spare is in deeo shit since they're in enemy territory, and aren't even identified as Osean since IFFs are down. One big escape mission with a shitton of enemy AI on your ass, or an escort to protect transport planes from attacking bombers, brings the desertion plotline to a peak when Osean fighters attack you
>15: out of shit since you lost a bunch during the previous mission, Shilage castle mission ensues. Mihály isn't dead, but is shot down and has to grow as a character since he isn't perfect anymore. Belkan drone plotline thrown in the mix, Spare Squadrons goal is now to take out the drone servers
>16-19: Spares bunting down drone-related stuff, getting allies along the way and uniting the splintered Eurusean rebels and whatever osean forces they find along the way
>20: keep as-is. fine mission, just make the tunnel less retarded.

>just make the tunnel less retarded
what's wrong with the tunnel? it's a pretty solid level design at least for me

i found that the doors weren't timed too well, and the random boxes on the floor are just there to fuck you over. Mainly, the drone fight at the end was way too lackluster, I would have made it more spacious, made the drone tougher, and had a bit longer of a fight, with the focus being on navigating around the bridges and the centre tower

Trailer
>You're going to be in a penal unit lol
>You killed Harling
>"Penal units turning against their allies"
>"BURN OSEA TO THE GROUND"
Game
>You're in a penal unit for 3.5 missions then get pardoned
>A drone killed Harling and nobody bothered to check any flight records lmao
>don't rebel against your allies
>in fact you end up converting your enemies to your side
>don't even attack Osea

i agree the drone is pretty sluggish alright, i think the tunnel is fine as the way it is, the only problem i had with it is that it encourages high speed throttle with it's linear path which slams my plane to a closing door when i first time played it

this, i thought we're going to play as an outlaw for most of the game but its literally just an unnecessary plot point

I would love to have an Ace Combat game where you play as an ace in some kind of rogue/pirate/bandit/mercenary squadron. I know Cipher is a merc but it hardly feels like it because you're taking Osean orders for the whole game.

well AC5 made both Osea and Yukes your enemy but it hardly counts because you're still Harling's cocksucker

I mean a game where you really play as a bad guy. Not even just "oh no we had to commit a war crime or two because of the circumstances of war :(" I mean straight up attacking and stealing shit and threatening the world with nukes like you're MSF from MGS Peace Walker

and you'll have a path where you either turn over a new leaf, do fuckall with the conflicts and concentrate on your personal gains, or unleash hell upon the earth, i liked that

kinda reminds me of Crimson Skies
youtube.com/watch?v=A_GtGjExSJc&list=PLF464A004839F02F5

>sp focused game
>~12hr campaign
Yeah, most casuals are going to drop it after beating it once and I don't blame them.

That's too bad, AC7's multiplayer was a major disappointment, but I still had some fun with it.

HAWX is basically the same. You start as a merc but practically join the USAF and fight other mercs for them

Hilarious considering how boring the story still is.

>implying mission 19 wasn't hype as fuck

no, you start off as an air force pilot, work as a merc for 3 missions, then go back to being in the air force
also hawx is liquid garbage

>playing on pc
>want to play with spw off
>every lobby is unlimited with spw on
>join one
>shit on entire room with eml x-02
>get kicked
>join another
>repeat
>suddenly no rooms to join
>make spw off lobby
>maybe people will take the hint
>no one joins
it's almost like no one can play without their qaam/eml/sasm cancer and only if they're winning
no wonder multiplayer is fucking dead already

Last time I played it, there were more spw: off lobbies than ones with them on. But that was a couple weeks ago. I think the bigger issue was that those other lobbies already had people in them and yours didn't.

>appear out of nowhere
It was pretty well-established where they came from and why they were at the elevator

>tfw no persistent servers with airfields where you spawn on the ground and have to land to rearm if you run out of ammo

it's worse anyway, you can make your missile a makeshift qaam with right parts and there's no fun in vanilla missile kill

how about a tunnel map? dogfighting in a tunnel seems fun and infuriating

just make the tunnels part of the greater map

that would just make everyone avoid it, what i want is dogfighting in a tunnel based map, it would limit furballs and make vanilla missile more viable

not if there was an incentive to use the tunnels like a killstreak stonehenge volley

AC3 lets you join any of the factions involved, including some terrorists who want to kill every single person in Usea and upload their consciousness into their internet.

Why did i think CoD mechanics are good here? i'd unironically love to call an arkbird or Aigaion to help

There's no ending where you actually stick with Ouroboros though

Cipher>Phoenix>Mobius 1>Trigger>Blaze

>Still the best OST of the year
hello? developers? are taro and co the only one capable of topping it?

actually
>Aimbot tier

>join unlimited tdm

>pretty even spread of planes on team

>entire team switches to pic related
while this was hilariously fun i won't deny that these were some of the most cancerous matches ive played yet
by comparison the teams we fought tried to counter us with qaam, then plsl, then most of them ended up leaving and new, completely unknowing people joined
it was a glorious but dirty slaughter

Modern gaming nowadays considers sniping as a top tier skill

When will we ever have an Ace Combat game that lets us play as the actual good guys?

Attached: 1412328001597.png (484x1541, 31K)

Are you on PC? I'm pretty sure I was in the exact same match. Were there two planes with the default skin, one with the Erusean skin and one with the Mihaly skin?

This is what V2 is for

Attached: 1552281629820.png (2238x1424, 1.24M)

yes, I was the one in the Mihaly skin
good games man
i was keking the whole way through

Lol I was on the opposing team, I was the only one with the X-02, meanwhile the rest of my team was flying shit like F-2s and Mig-31s
Needless to say we got annihilated by you guys

yeah, each game we played had us fighting different spreads of aircraft, whereas we just stuck to X-02 cancer, for awhile I was seeing the F-2 guy a lot, I give him props for sticking to it in the face of that shitshow, since he did pull out his own X-02 at one point but went back to the F-2
If you were the guy I'm thinking of though you had some pretty on-point eml shots though mang

nah I just played with the X-02 for about two games before I left after it was apparent my team didn't want to change their strat at all

Attached: 1552282741248.png (2250x2564, 2.39M)

Lmao, this guy is still making drawings? Now that's the kind of autism I can tell my son about.

My strategy is using a F-14 with LAAM's works well for me i at least get a 3rd place or higher

What was that manga where the girls were planes? Was it flight highschool?

>Trigger never gives her her plane back either

He didn't like being called a dumbass

Strike Witches? Girly Air Force?

Never mind, it is the one that gets posted in these threads now and then.

>TLS cancer
>sucks
try using it to pick off damaged craft when you respawn, works wonders for me, as for the furball, try upgrading your missiles

>tfw you make sure to die a couple times because you don't want the entire room RQing

EML is just too easy bros.

First Ace Combat game and I got stuck on every mission. Almost thought I'd never beat it on mission 6. Usually it's some simple strategy I'm missing.

>mission 12
Use A-10C.

Going to hope onto multiplayer, I'm expecting cancer. Maybe I'll just stick to vanilla rooms.

actually, you made it too easy if you're not 1st consistently, everyone chases the leading craft like a magnet, giving you a hard time to aim your EML

Especially since PC users can turn everything around once they get VR working on the whole game.

TDM is passable because you're not CONSTANTLY dealing with cheesedick shit, but that's just because your teammates can't cheese you.

Belka did nothing wrong

ahem, fuck belcunts

I miss the Falken

Trying Musketeer Fishbed now if anyone joins the damn room.

Wait until early summer and you'll have it back

If you bought the season pass

should have server where only regular lock on missles are allowed and nothing else

...what have you been playing?

Is it worth getting? Do they plan to make DLC missions or anything or are they seriously going to charge us $25 just for a few extra planes?

3 planes and 3 missions

youtu.be/6C2GM1InwNc
It'll be 3 planes and a 3 mission mini campaign
The only details we know about the story is that Trigger will be fighting the most evil character in the series

Kek that was fun. Got sniped by an EMLfag though

what's the most useful part in general and why is it pitch maneuverability up lvl3

You can't dodge bullets if the sky is full of bullets.

>room is full of EMLs and QAAMs
And now the fun has stopped.

>not dabbing them back with SASM

They outsourced english translations to Bamcos Singapore branch

MSL homing lvl2 and flight distance lvl 2 so your standards can act like AC4 QAAMs

How do I git gud with EML?

no, its just repetitive

The meta's set in stone and everyone is doing the same thing, I got bored after dunking on everyone.

Exactly. It couldn't possibly be that it's horribly imbalanced instead. It's totally fair that EML can instantly delete people from 10,000km away in one click while TLS needs to hit 5 times or more for the same result or anything like that.

I'm playing mig 29 fulcrum should I just play that or install ace combat 5

S-sauce?

Are you blind?

Whew, all right never touching multiplayer again.

Couldn't dodge those QAAMs eh?

Noob

No, just dumb

ac5

It got tiring, entire room full of QAAMs.
Enjoy your dead multiplayer buddy

Practice.

Mig-21 low cost machine gun pod only is my funmode set. Just did a team match, but one guy on the other side disconnected at the start so it was 2v1. Had to stick to machine guns only so the other guy wouldn't immediately die after spawning.

dabbing on QAAM spammers and EML niggers in my F-104 with HPAA is too fun

Is holding triangle to look at the enemy mandatory in multiplayer? I never bothered doing it in single player since i like to play in cockpit view, but every youtube video on ac7 i've seen seems to heavily utilise the feature.

Attached: 1535925097675.jpg (640x480, 42K)

If you use cockpit mode in MP you will get slaughtered.
