Hour long cut scenes the game

I will never forgive Namco for cutting the budget for this game & preventing us from getting our 6 episode series. They really should have released it on the GameCube, it would have sold far more copies

>Amazing story & characters
Hahahahahaha

Why did they change everyone’s look in 2

T. Never played it, the story is genuinely amazing in the first game before it went to shit in the sequels

Persona 2

Horrible gameplay = horrible game

Planescape: Torment
Earthbound
Never got that far in either because they were so boring.

Albedo did nothing wrong.

>edit out the knife for the US version
>instead he brutally tears his own head off with his bare hands making the scene twice as violent
Albedo was great.

Sure user sure

> Literally molests a little girl
> Is actually a faggot whose in love with his brother
What did they mean by this

This

Man I loved the old Xenogames.

You're right about the gameplay at least. The turn system is a butchered version of FFX's and the boost mechanic violates all common sense in game design.

First game didn't hit 5 gorillion units, so the publisher went through and fired the entire team except for the writers. Did it again going from 2 to 3.

Why do both of these things always happen with sequels? Do game companies always kick the old team before starting part 2 or what?

Well, seems like my questions in was just answered 3 seconds before I posted it. And I was right.

>molests
Torture and mindfucking isn't the same thing you brainlet. He was literally using and discarding them to fuck with Rubedo and get his attention it worked.

>6 episodes
Way too ambitious

I thought they disposed of the writers too part way through development of 2, with 3 being this entirely new thing.

Though in fairness the original plan for 6 games was ludicrously hilariously ambitious. Like holyshit, even a trilogy is ambitious in modern vidya, tons of stuff doesn't even manage to get a sequel, 6 games planned out for the story? Nah. I truly admire the ambition and I enjoyed the first game a lot despite its flaws, but it was too much for this earth.

How big was thing again?

>I will never forgive Namco for cutting the budget for this game & preventing us from getting our 6 episode series. They really should have released it on the GameCube, it would have sold far more copies
>six eps
yeah only way that could have ever happened if some richfag billionaire was backing it and would give bamco $50m a game or whatever and not even give a single shit about its financial success. like some renaissance noble patron or some shit. no way otherwise.

I think they kept on Takahashi throughout the project, but it's been so long since I dug into it. I remember a few years back when Harada was trying to drum up interest on Twitter for a HD remaster, and getting super pumped. My wife and I shared our first kiss during the ending credits of Episode 3, so it's a special series to me.

Nier

1000 km long on its longest point, not sure if official height/width were ever given but could probably estimate it from the game models given that dimension. Seriously it's a holyshit huge ship, probably one of the bigger ones to ever appear in vidya.

yeah that's big, moon is ~1700km radius for ref. it's a colony too basically, all of vector's main facilities are there. like macross ships though even bigger.

There were complaints the characters looked way too uguuu, which they do.
Still don't see why they had to go that route since apparently nobody gives a fuck and the uguu look is mostly a staple of xeno series now

I'll literally never get this.
If anything, IS is just easy as fuck, but I don't see how the gameplay is anywhere bad, it's just mostly default turn based which characters repeating moves until you cancel for new ones

>first game has fun casino minigames and even an original card game
>second and third don't

You didn't post Xenogears for some reason.

>like some renaissance noble patron or some shit
If I ever win the lottery this is exactly what I will be doing.

Pretty sure Nintendo could have easily done it if it was successful enough, although knowing them there would huge gaps between releases
