Also, if you come on one that’s submerged but their bump is still visible above the water, pop it with a single shot to make it jump up out of the water. I really find that starting with Claire A / Leon B (hardcore of course) is the best way to go. Just the encounters in that setup end up being much more tense (such as Leon B having to deal with the west hallway licker after not encountering it the first time around, a double-twist to anyone who played the original)

Ps4 fag here (standard console, not pro) If you run around too much, you can actually catch up to the game loading an area. So basically, you can open a door, see nothing and not be able to enter.
It usually only happens in the station, and only if you move from one side to the other a bunch of times. Never encountered it anywhere else.

Anyway, RE7 never did this, so it seems that RE2 is either woefully unoptimized for standrd PS4's, or it's just more demanding on the console.

Play it with the newer OST first so you can get an appreciation for it. It does have some pretty good boss themes and you will hear new takes on the older music when you first get to a save room as well as the main hall of RPD.

Almost through Hardcore with Leon. How the fuck am I supposed to get through Claire without a shotgun to kill zombies in one shot? The grenade launcher? I feel like ammo for that is even more scarce. Especially when acid grenades are actually boss viable instead of having the flamethrower.

For her, I find it best to just shoot the zombies legs off and slice them to death long-ways down from their head to their legs (to do the most damage per knife-cut), if you wanna kill them using as little ammo as possible. Each cut takes about 1-3% durability from the knife. You're gonna be doing a lot more juking and stunning+running with her though, especially if you don't get the SMG. Guess the advantage is that flame grenades are so fucking strong and can kill 2-3 zombies in one shot if they'r close enough together, or a licker on the ground in one shot (even on hardcore). The burning damage is really high.
Her B revolver is also pretty good at killing zombies with focused headshots

Meanwhile, Ada was considered hot right away because she's always been the sexy character (unlike Claire), plus she had none of the goblina-memeing and badly-animated cutscene expressions before release that Claire did.

Claire's also not bossy or bitchy at all and seems very caring and friendly, not to mention thirsty for Leon, which makes her seem accessible and less intimidating than Ada (who makes him thirsty for her). She's charming and grows on you
