You can knock him out of it before he starts flying around with Dual Kalina's last Gunslinger skill. Forgot the name, but the foward + style giant laser. If you hit him from the start of the transformation animation, he will get as far as getting airborne before exploding and falling down out of DT.

SinDT is only a win button on lower difficulties, higher up its a huge risk/reward to dump that much DT gauge and sin DT itself isnt that good since you can still take massive damage while in it.

New to the games? Not mocking, seriously asking. All I can say is muscle memory, I can't really explain it but in playthrough 1 I got hit a ton but now I'm on DMD and know movements and enemy animations, I'm S'ing most encounters and no damaging some missions outright.

Hell and Hell will destroy me though so by no means am I bragging.

dante: switch to trickster literally any time and dodge
nero: save your double jump for air combo dodges and time your rolls so they turn into sidesteps
v: use proper spacing so your minions tank the damage instead of you

Do checkpoints count against the trophy to beat Mission 19 and 20 without continues? I did it and didn't get the trophy, I thought it was only refering to Red and Gold Orbs continues.

Build up some Royal Guard gauge before hand and just use Royal Revenge to EZ mode it since it requires no skill to Royal Revenge.

ive onlyplayed the game for a few hours but im an old dmcfag and basically any level where you can reliably get an S rank works well.
the level before you switch to V for the first time looks like a good spot to me. there are a bunch of red orb spider things (that rooftop secret area has 3 alone) and the fights are pretty easy to get high style ranks.

Mostly that you don't get as much time playing dante as you do in 3, so the difficulty/learning curve isn't quite as smooth.
Not knocking on 5, it's a ton of fun but there are drawbacks to having 3 characters within your missions.

You practice the game and look up moves and experiment.
Tutorials will also be coming out soon probably.
I know many people dislike Chastertech, but his tutorials are still a good source of learning and he's said he's working on getting an introductory guide to Nero out in a week or so

It said that the cause was either a render error or my GPU overheated, which is bull since it doesn't even get above 80c and 100c is the cut off point for my card to go into shutdown. DMC3's fight was so much harder than this I still have nightmares. Only managed to beat Vergil using the style that slows down time and jump canceling with the kick attack from the air.

I don't normally get attached to fictional characters and I feel a little silly saying it, but I really do love Vergil. Just seeing him return and have a bit on fun at the end of 5 was oddly satisfying and exciting in a way stories rarely are to me. I guess fanservice really is great when it panders to you.

It's pretty open. But he had no real reason to them that he was sorry for what he did, even if he was weaken. And also he didn't seem to continue the whole destroying the world thing, he actually just wanted to fight Dante. He didn't seem to want to kill Nero because he didn't even know he was actually his Son, not until Dante told him. And you can even see it in his voice that he seems a bit apprehensive about fighting him. I don't think Vergil is evil, I think V just wanted to go back to being Vergil and what he said was true, or at least partly, he wanted to fight Dante again, but as a whole being, not just a DEMON or a whimpy goth. After being whole again, I don't think he had any interest in being the king of the underworld anymore.

beat DMC3 on DMD quite recently before DMC5's release. Vergil on devil hunter in DMC5 is FAR harder than any of the vergil fights on normal in DMC3.

I think Urizen reopened the portal that allowed the tree to finally grow again in the human world. It sounds like it was a regular thing before Sparda separated the worlds, since Mundus also ate the fruit to become the king.

He wanted power.
In his chase for power, he got bitchslapped by Dante numerous times.
After going through brainwashing and getting near killed, he basically lost any reason he had and the only thing that kept him alive was his desire to actually win against Dante.
By the time he recovers his form (and his sanity) back, he's already prepared to die for what he has done but at least he wants a proper match with Dante before he goes away.
Nero interferes and ruins the atmosphere so Vergil misses the opportunity to die dramatically. He opts out for the next best thing - going into exile, but now Dante interferes knowing how fucking autistic his brother is and goes with him so he won't do more stupid shit.
Vergil now is mostly recovered from his autism and Dante is there so he won't have a relapse, so everything is good.
I loved the story, to be honest.

It was his way of coping with the childhood trauma. Dante adopted this wacky wisecracker that never really takes anything seriously personality, despite being profoundly miserable both due to what happened in his life and his condition as a human/demon which means neither he nor his kids will ever have a peaceful life, even if he enjoys a good fight on occasion as much as Vergil does, owing it to his partially demonic nature. Vergil, on the other hand was more direct about this, the feelings of helplessness and loss he had experienced as a kid when his family was destroyed left a tremendous imprint on him and he began viewing power (both physical and more general means of asserting your own will upon reality and all in it) as the ultimate means of security.

Eh, I find this hard to believe. I caught up to the DMC franchise back in July to prepare myself for DMC5 and Vergil 3 is still the hardest boss in the entire series (was playing on DH difficulty). Died fucktons of times against Vergil 3 but the number of time I died against Vergil in 5 was under double digit.

honestly Dante and Vergil are way too busted. If there was ever a DMC6, it should be a Sparda prequel instead of a continumation from 5. Can you imagine a game with Dante and Vergil teamed up? It would be rad as fuck but it would be like 4 where there would be absolutely no tension in the story because they are just overpowered as fuck

Took me about 17. If I were to exclude every single time I died and had to replay the level, that would still only add up to like 14 hours.

This is a made up story. You can just make a stronger bad guy, it's magic you don't gotta explain shit. You could de power them with something. You could make that be the new bad guys power.
This is a hero story. The good guys aren't going to lose. Saying there is no tension purely because of power levels is nonsense.

2. They power down the characters, meaning you start from scratch again in the next game
3. You can only play as Nero + 2 new faggots in the next game while Dante and Vergil are DLC or not in the game at all
