There was one unit that was a human torso on treads and he featured prominently in the loading screens
I thiiink there was a high-tech faction with mecha? Bipedal thing called a spider mech for some reason? Might be a different game.
IIRC it was called L.I.N.T. but that never turns anything up in my searches
