This game will forever be one of the finest games i've ever played
youtu.be
user, this game is on Wii U and Switch, not PS2.
Oh... I see what you did there, you’re insinuating that the game has awful graphics by posting it in a thread about PS2 games being pushed to their limit graphically, a console of which is nearly two decades old, implying the Switch is outdated and that Nintendo still can’t compete graphically with other current-generation consoles. Simply epic, my friend!
God of War games.
Pretty much everything else looked and ran like shit.
Supposedly MGS3 pushed it as far as it could go
What? GoW ran at 30, there were plenty of games on ps2 that ran at solid 60.
Damn, I didn't know ps2 did 4k
Shadow of the colossus
Silent Hill 3 did some crazy shit with textures and effect. Still can't get it to emulate correctly on my machine.
>durhur graficks are all that matter
zoom zoom zoom
FFXII looked really fucking good for PS2, to be honest. The character models and especially the faces were top-notch.
That is a great game. Some good times with that. it came bundled with the 1980s movie when i had it
Still a fucking shit game
post that room from 3, you know the one
>GoW ran at 30
No it didn't.

>60fps
>physics
>interactive environments
>ragdolls
>over 30 guns
>split screen and online multiplayer
and the framerate showed it
Heh
eh it was average. Fun for 10 hours, then the gimmick wore thin and you saw how shit the open world was, and the rest was pretty average. Still better than most garbage that comes out.
>posts emulator screenshot
GTFO.
>60fps
That's not true, but the rest is.
It ran at 60fps too I think
Cold Winter on ps2?
Not a chance man.
this game is fucking incredible
played it so much when I was younger
No the Transformers game
run it on software mode
>PS2 game still BTFOs snoycucks
based nintendo
In a thread specifically about graphics, yes, it is all that matters.
cold winter was perfect, the story, the soundtrack, the gore. i loved it
This is not a "Best games of all time" thread user
it was a joke why are you guys so defensive about it what happened to Yea Forums
I think 'it can go to 60fps' is different then 'it runs at 60fps the whole time'
I do remember Cold Winter feeling pretty fuckin smooth.
just finished this game a couple days ago, it was fun. ocelot is the best character.
>"hey, let's have a thread about the based PS2!"
>"NOOOOOOOO I NEED TO SAY HOW MUCH I HATE ZELDAAAAA!"
Rent goddamn free.
>posts an image of zelda
>doesn't classify that he hated it
?
>Getting this huttburt over a joke
Maybe resetera really is invading wow.
Anyway pic related.
Valkyrie profile 2 silmeria
/thread
I remember thinking this game was just the Wii version with PS2 controls and would have online play. When I bought it full price.
>Valkyrie profile 2 silmeria
>side-scroller fixed camera angle
Hardly. Yes, the graphics looks amazing, but it achieves that by showing extremely little of the game world at any time.
motherfucker was 1080i able
shit's ridiculous by ps2 standards
>FFXII looked really fucking good for PS2, to be honest. The character models and especially the faces were top-notch.
The graphics from a technical perspective are good, the art direction sadly isn't. Everyone is dressed like an overdesigned Lady gaga nIghtmare, weird porcelain wax doll faces and most environments have very simplistic geometry. It's also Shades of Brown: The Game.
>2019
>Sonyfags are still seething over BotW
wew lad
this
dude it was a joke
LOL
>Shades of Brown
Did you go to Giza Plains at the start and just stop playing there?
I actually like the game but this still got a sensible chuckle.
Holy fuck, really?
I remember this game looking fucking good at standard 480i res. How?!
it warms my heart knowing that the ps2 is still going strong and is still popular in shithole countries even with bootlegs.
1080i isn't the same as 1080p
1080i means it only renders half the scene every frame and blends the frames.
Basically same performance hit as 540p.
not in any way, no
The rent is all yours considering that awful outburst.
>Did you go to Giza Plains at the start and just stop playing there?
No, I just looked at the screenshot you posted, which depicts yet another predominantly brown environment.
FF XII , still amazed at it. The first PS3 game if you ask me.
>FFXII has no brown environm-
I find it aesthetic
Not trying to be a console war kiddie but this game literally looks like a switch game its crazy good.
The first 3 Spyro games are technical and aesthetic masterpieces. The speedway levels especially are outstanding. It's a shame this sort of unexplainable quality was lost in the Reingited versions
>Indoor environment in an archaic setting is brown
So you didn't play it at all.
Basically a PS3 title by the standards it did
not ps2 but quake 2 for the ps1
>ps2 thread about graphics
>post a PCsx2 screenshot
everytime
Crash Bandicoot was also a technical achievement, Naughty Dog managed to tap into the power of the PS1 that Sony themselves wasn't aware of. Every curve and hill in the path of N Sanity Beach is specifically designed to put as much graphical detail on screen as possible without overloading the PS1.
>Crash Bandicoot was also a technical achievement, Naughty Dog managed to tap into the power of the PS1 that Sony themselves wasn't aware of. >game with static camera can have more graphic detail than game with free camera
Well, duh. That's hardly a 'technical achievement', it's just common sense.
user the switch is outdated, even the Wii U is stronger
Still at least the exclusives aren't total trash
Spyro 2 manages to be even more impressive with the introduction of underwater levels, and levels like Hurricos where the rain and thunder combined with the music and sound effects creates a 10/10 atmosphere. Once again, this effect is greatly diminished, even nonexistent in the Reignited trilogy. A true, not meme example of Soul Vs Soulless
Nothing from that gen will ever look as good as the rouge squadron games on GC
Well fuck me, time to download this and regret never giving it a chance
Looks like you ruffled the Nintendies' jimmies user. That's not allowed here.
Still impressive, and a brilliant way to create a competitor to Mario 64 without having to create a control scheme or levels nearly as complex. Remember, this is the 90s, where higher quality graphics were a huge selling point. Take, for example, all the statues and tikis that are on the sides of the path. Gives the world character and makes the game more impressive to look at, especially when placed next to Mario 64
Does it run with a DualShock 1? I have a chinese DS2 but the analog stick is fucking awful. My other option would be emulate and use m+kb
posting the best/most impressive and unexpected game
Any good? How good are the other ps2 CoD games
And of course Crash's personality was very unique at the time. Looking directly at the player at the start of Hog Wild, looking back at the boulder that's chasing him in 2, and just his idle breathing animation is funny because it makes it seem like he's out of breath and all this running and jumping is giving him a good workout
it's basically running on a modified cod 2 engine (i think) to feel like waw's and if i am going to be honest here, you should only play it if you're bored or need more waw-action i guess.
the other cod games are good. big red one is epic.
>Still impressive, and a brilliant way to create a competitor to Mario 64 without having to create a control scheme or levels nearly as complex.
And without having to create gameplay mechanics or level design anywhere near as engaging. Sure, they succeeded at pushing things graphically, but the result is a forgettable and archaic game that is literally on rails.
Killzone 1 push the limits on ps2. The ps3 verison is what killzone 1 should of been.
Why wouldn't it?
I think I have the og WaW here for xbox but since i'm lazy to set it up i'll probably play the pc version if its any good too. Thanks m8
I kinda want to play Killzone 1, played once and liked the enemy design
They're ports.
All CoD games back then were made for the PC.
Some games don't support DS1, Ace Combat 5, RE Code Veronica X and Siren being three. AC4 had no problems with it, can't remember if RE Outbreak supported DS1.
Kinda weird knowing that my fucking ps1 dual shock works till this day while my og dual shock 2 fucked up after few years
Lol
oh absolutely, gameplay wise Mario 64 destroys Crash 1. 2 and 3 add more depth, but 1 has aged super poorly.
But at the time, the higher quality graphics definitely gave it an edge over Mario 64
>that time where a self /thread is actually real
Nice
also mandatory Gran Turismo meme
youtu.be
shadow of the colossus and gt4.
what song is that? what genre?
Don't need to emulate it, just install the PC version with the fixes.
The game meaby have an uncapped framerate, but it deeps way below 20 in certain phases, just because of the phisychs. Nice shit dou.
Weird didn't know. I guess I only have games that work with DS1.
>All this defense after this reply
This is how you know you're on Yea Forumsintendogaf. If this was a movie game joke you know it would be different
Be thankful. I never understood why some games don't support it.
Nobody talks about Burnout Revenge?
What about Mercenaries or Tekken 5?
Those have amazing visuals.
Oh, and The Getaway BlackMonday.
this game was neat and i liked the no hud gimmick they went with. though i always thought the vocal ammo count was silly.
user didn't say there weren't any brown environments in the game, just that there's more to the game than those.
WIi U isn't stronger you dummy
How about games that pushed the Nintendo 64 to its limits?
kek
SPBP
thank you so much user
GT Sport may have a disappointing single-player, and it may focus too much on online, but goddamn if it doesn't have the best menu music I've heard in a video game.

kek, i can't believe this game is still a topic on Yea Forums.
...
What's wrong with brown environments?
that kind of music is so fucking good, love to drive while listening to it.
Also, does anyone hates when you give a ride to someone and they fucking complain about the music or even try to skip it?
Based
HAHAHAHA true game looks like shit
>Also, does anyone hates when you give a ride to someone and they fucking complain about the music or even try to skip it?
It depends on what I'm listening to when I drive. Most of the people I drive, I put on my music and they don't mind. I'll put on some house, some electro, maybe some prog rock on the occasion. Most of the people don't mind.
I do have this one friend that always asks for the AUX after I play one song, and they immediately switch it over to nothing but anime OPs. The music gets annoying after a bit, especially if I have to take him somewhere during rush hour.
I like to listen to random eletro that's not fucking David Guetta or same old ones from the 90s(like those but ffs its always those) that I find on spotify playlists. Most are pretty chill but holy hell if my friend is in the car and the track doesn't sound like generic David Guetta/Gigi D'agostino/Ivan Vananfas/Depeche Mode remix he goes EWWW THIS IS BORING/LET ME PLUG MY USB DRIVE
>listening to bowie heroes
>ewww this is boring
>he thought the Wallflowers version was the original
Wanted to open his door and throw him out of the car. Fucking hell man, I thought it was kind of a social rule to never complain maybe if its anime shit about whatever the driver is listening to
Maybe i'm getting autist. And no, I never got visually angry when this kind of thing happened, always try to look cool and just laugh it off
/thread
Oh jesus that looks awful, which one was this again, 2?
>>listening to bowie heroes
>>he thought the Wallflowers version was the original
Dafuq? But I agree, usually it's just best not to complain about whatever music's on the AUX.
Now I want to open a bar and have this kind of song playing it
Yeah, it's DS2. Looks like the PS3/360 version to boot.
Yeah, I looked at him like wtf man. Then I pressed skip like a little bitch because killed my mood
The PS3 HD port is the best option. The game runs at a stable frame rate, fixed the loading in textures and the bugs in the ps2 version. The game-play is just a lot smoother now on PS3.
bowie's heroes is an excrutiatingly boring song. there's no real reason to listen to it multiple times.
t. extreme david bowie fan.
I guess, not gonna disagree but it was on random and it was ages since I've listened to it. Even have it at the bottom of my actual bowie playlist(not the one I use when driving).
i mean it doesnt mean hes not a whiny teenage cunt, its just not a great song.
Yeah, too bad the AI was fucking spot welded to the racing line
I like the TV on the Radio version.
>necroing a thread just to troll
MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA
But I do. I like TV on the Radio.
Daily reminder that GameCube was more powerful than a PS2 and the only reason PS2 sold was because it was a fucking DVD player.
didnt they have some song about a werewolf or something, that was good
i remember it from about the time of minecraft
ive been playing games since commodore 64/NES and in my opinion the gamecube is probably the worst mainline console of all time.
it has one game, eternal darkness
>smash brothers!!!!!!!!!
nobody outisde of your little nintendo head communities cares about that shit whatsoever, just being honest.
