Halo Infinite comes out as a launch title for the Xbox Two

>Halo Infinite comes out as a launch title for the Xbox Two
>Also available on Xbone
>Also available on PC

does MS seriously think that Infinite is going to be a system seller for their new console?

People love new things so they will buy the console regardless of if Halo is exclusive or not.

People won't play it in the W10 Store anyway

>does MS really think their most valuable IP is gonna sell consoles

it's probably going to run like absolute ass on base x1

If that happens it maybe will have 13 million or so combined sales across all platforms. Halo 5 had like 6, 7million or so after 5 months on shitbox 69 only.

of course it will, theres a good chunk of people who went from 360 to ps4, thats the type of people m$ is trying to get to buy the xbox two. it being on pc also helps sales because most people either have a gaming pc or a console and if they have both its usually a nintendo console.

If switch could handle it, they would've ported in on there, too.

the problem is: Infinite is already most likely going to target 60 fps on the Xbone. The Xbox2 version is going to be nothing but a resolution update. That, and people who already have a good PC will most likely buy it there.

MS probably thinks that this will work, since it worked with BotW and the Switch too, but that game only sold consoles because hardly anyone had a WiiU before, but the Xbone will still have like 45 million units out there before the end of the gen.

>Xbone will still have like 45 million units
fake news. m$ stopped releasing sales numbers a long ass time ago

>does MS seriously think that Infinite is going to be a system seller for their new console?
Do YOU seriously think that MS hasn't realized that they'll make more money by allowing their games to be played on more hardware than they will by continuing to try to force people to buy their hardware, which isn't popular worldwide?

the problem is that if the ps5 does indeed have ps4 BC then it will keep the ps4 players in their economy, since being able to play their already existing ps4 library at a higher performance is a good selling point.

yup because BC on the ps3 definitely helped out sony during 7th gen.......

you don't see the bigger picture, and MS didn't see it either when they announced their "play anywhere" program. They thought it will be nothing but a selling point for the Xbone, as if the consumers would get "2 games for the price of one" with every purchased xbox game, but it didn't work out.

if people buy Xbox and buy games for Xbox that means MS gets profit after EVERY game sold on the xbox.
If the people go to PC then MS will only get profit after their rare MS store exclusives, but people will buy every other game on different stores, not giving MS anything

there are a lot of differences

first, ps3 BC literally backfired because it made the console more expensive, because they literally had to build in a chip for it

also, it wasn't enhanced BC, meaning all games still run the way they originally did, meaning that it wasn't a big selling point for the people who alraedy had a ps2 (aka: pretty much 80% of the gamer market)
the ps4 would use the same kind of emulation the Xbone is using, meaning it would be enhanced BC with better resolution and frame rate without extra costs on the console

>emulatiing ps3 games
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

?

>being in denail
classic snoy

I'm an idort
otherwise I just don't see what point you are trying to make

you imply that ps3 emulation is not possible, or that it isn't relevant? Also how does this exactly relate to the ps4 bc on ps5 keeping costumers on ps?

its not possible and snoy isnt gonna do it. you are retarded, they make more money by putting older games on psn

Microsoft's primary concern is not to sell you hardware anymore.

But others keep track and we get semi accurate estimates this way.

Microsoft is focusing on broadening their available platforms. Thats why theres now going to be an Xbox for every pricepoint.

Sony is so far ahead after winning every console war since the PS2 that MS has concluded any platform sale, whether its a cheaper Xbox or Xbox One S/X or Windows 10, is a succees to them. If the Xbox isn't moving numbers anymore than they'll have less need to force support on it, just move on to cheaper streaming consoles and whatever sells.

riiight, like vgchartz? kys.

I doubt they would ignore BC at least with the ps4 considering that it would be biggest selling point of the ps5 against the xbox2

also, it is very questionable if they would make more money with NOT enabling BC even with older consoles.
I'm pretty sure the Xbone makes a lot more money with it's BC, bringing a lot of attention to older games and selling them on xbl as if they only came out a year ago, than sony does with selling a handful of old titles on psn that most users don't even know they exist.

Xbox Two will be called Xbox like the original 2001 console but with a Pro and Arcade Edition. Halo Infinite will be crossplatform to Xbox the same way Halo 5 is crossplatform to Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X.

you know less than 5 percent of xbone players use bc right

that's definitely a lot more than the likely 0,001% users who buy ps2 games on ps4 store

or if you mean that BC wouldn't be important selling point next gen, I just think it is going to be more important this time. There isn't such a noticeable graphical leap between gens anymore, especially since pushing for native 4k and 60 fps is a new priority instead of just graphical fidelity.
tldr: current gen games will still be more relevant on next gen hardware when it comes to their visuals, especially if they get an fps and resolution boost. It won't be the same thing it was when the ps3 cam out and the ps2 games suddenly looked outdated and less desirable in comparison.

>that's definitely a lot more than the likely 0,001% users who buy ps2 games on ps4 store
source?

no source, I just find that a reasonable statistic
-there is only a handful of games like this on the store
-they are at such a hidden part of the ps store
-there is absolutely no marketing surrounding them
most of my PSfag friends didn't even know that the ps4 had some ps2 games on it

>no source, I just find that a reasonable statistic
thats a nice contradiction

Honestly, if Infinite is an incredible game, then it WILL push sales.

Hell, love it or hate it BotW did the same thing. If people think it's the next big thing, they'll buy it on the shiny new console as opposed to the old one.

Infinite is a launch exclusive for Xbox2. If they target it for Xbox One, they'll cannibalize their own market. Also Halo 5 was a complete shitshow because of being limited by One's specs.

They want to completely delineate Halo Infinite from Xbox One/X generations and move that IP into its own generation + PC. Doing so will sell the new console, because Xbox2 is expected to have 12TFLOPs of GPU performance + an 8c/16t Zen2 CPU which is quadruple the performance per core over Jaguar clock for clock. Xbox One/X affords games 6 cores effective. It's shared threading, so its like having 6c/9t for games available. Zen2 gets you 4x perf per core and 7c/14t for games on top of the 12TFLOPs GPU. Factor in 16GB of GDDR6 and there's basically zero reason to release Halo Infinite on Xbox One.

Finally, Zen2 is a completely different architecture than Jaguar; like light years apart in difference. If they intend to optimize it for Xbox2, it CANNOT be released on Xbox One/X without significant time spent on optimizing that-way too.

This

>Infinite is a launch exclusive for Xbox2
Yes and no.

>IF
its not gonna happen retards

>system seller
Imagine being this stupid.

would john halo beat doom slayer guy

>implying they’d fight each other

They’d bro it up and kill aliens and demons together.

Microsoft doesn’t care about sales of physical boxes anymore.
