Wireless networks still have plenty of inherent drawbacks and a proper FTTP setup is essentially objectively superior in terms of everything but setup cost. The main deal with 5G is that it essentially enables ISPs to get really stingy with setting up wired connections (adding new connections to a radio tower is essentially free compared to physically wiring up a house) and just cram wireless bullshit down your throat if you want to get away from your shitty twisted pair that only gets ADSL.

Actually 5G is plenty difficult and costly because connections need to be focused in a specific direction from the towers as opposed to traditional 4G/etc. or else it won't penetrate air and walls enough to maintain connection.
