Well, not to spoil anything, but it's not that they ruined her character, but it's more that that her and mostly all other characters get pushed aside to focus on Rean's character and story, which isn't terribly interesting and his full backstory revealed makes the whole backstory behind Cold Steel seem like a complete asspull, to put it lightly.

Play the Trails in the Sky trilogy first, if you haven't. PS4 or PC is fine for Cold Steel.

at first i had some hopes but this is some Naruto shit, the MC has a sad past, mysterious power, everyone loves him, he keeps running after a guy and nearly every villain get justified one way or the other, not to mention the joke of a "war" and the absurd amount of holding back( beat them in the fight, they win in a cutscene), i would only recommend this to people that have nothing better to play and love generic shonen.

by setting i mean the empire and world building not the totally not-Japanese high-school, the politics and world building was the only thing the hold me to finish the series and it disappoint me beyond what i ever thought possible.

I'll be honest, this isn't the absolute best jrpg out there, however it's still fun to play.
You'll get various party members with different skills (Crafts, Arts, S-Crafts), weapon types, character bonding and a good soundtrack.
The PC and PS4 version have better performance, Turbo mode for faster gameplay and includes all the DLC.
