The strength required to operate a longbow isn't nearly as huge as you're implying. I think nerds learned that they have a heavy draw weight and now their "facts" are completely overcompensated. Any human male who isn't a reclusive beanpole will be more than strong enough for it. Your arms and torso might get a bit fatigued after rapid successive shots but so would anyone's. You aren't supposed to be speed shooting with a longbow.

Depends on the bow. Composite bows conquered the world on the hands of mongols, with same stopping power (if not the same range) as longbows, with less strength required. But since they were shooting arrows from horseback, Dexterity was definitely more important for them.

Obviously you don't wear it on your back if you know you'll actually need to use the sword. But when you're just carrying it around in a peaceful area, of course you can put the scabbard on your back.
And when you're in a battle, you carry the sword in your hand, with the scabbard or not. Did you know you don't have to wear scabbards, you can just carry them in your hand? Weird right?
