Kills thousands of humans and destroys their city

who gives a shit about humans?

V is his innocence, so in a very literal way he gains redemption only because he absorbed someone who atoned. It's retarded.

>claiming V atoned when even Vergil at his most human state is still a power hungry being full of evil who ultimately just fuses back with a demon instead of sacrificing himself

Vergil is less evil than Urizen so V created a net good. He instigated the DMC crew into action, he info dumped and led Dante to creating his Devil Sword. The dude did good, acted good, and sacrificed himself in the name of good.

In his defense, Urizen was the worst of Vergil, Vergils memories in V actively been busy trying to stop him and get back together.

So did V want to kill Urizen or return back as Vergil? He seemed to want to defeat Urizen pretty badly at the start

He was ready to atone in death through the last equal fight with Dante.
Dante already killed his nightmares and noticed that they wanted to atone with death as well.

They only fused back to fulfil the single thing both had in common and that's a desire to fight Dante again.

Humanity is a spook dante

>Vergil is back
But in DMC1 didn't he uh, die?

To be fair, Dante was kind of a dick to V

vergil just likes to be alive in general
v wanted to kill urizen but when he started to die without him, his meta-vergil kicked in and he ended up fusing with urizen so theyd both survive

Yet Vorgil shoots a demon fetus and suddenly HE'S the bad guy.

That was the best scene in DmC desu.

I fucking love air raider

V said he regretted everything he done up to that point for his pursuit of power as Vergil. He probably didn't want to do more, and knew his worse half was up to no good.

>the dude did good, acted good, and sacrificed himself in the name of good.
You glossed over the entire scene where V and Urizen were about to fuse or what? V himself says they shared one thing after all, their unfinished business with Dante; instead of letting Urizen die and himself crumble away V choose to become whole again to have one last showdown against Dante, if he really wanted to sacrifice himself in the name of good he would just have let himself and Urizen fade away.

It's not just that. Even after realizing all mistakes he made, V kept one trait from Vergil and that's his enormous grudge on Dante who he blames for what happened in childhood. Even then he didn't kill him despite the fact he could while Dante was unconscious.

It actually was. It perfectly encapsulates everything which DmC stands for.
I love the scene only because it's so fucking edgy even by DmC standards that you have to wonder which writer sat there and thought to himself. "You know what Vergil would do? He'd give a woman a sniper rifle abortion"

Nobody reprimanded him for that either.

Donte only went unga on him for saying, and I quote "The path is clear for us to rule. :] ". Vorgil did NOTHING wrong, he even was willing to share the throne.

I was partiall joking actually why was Dante such a dick to him but you make a good point. He probably could have seriously fucked Dante up and let Nero use Sparda like he originally planned but chose not to.

Popularity always find a way, plenty of characters in fiction who were previously antagonists with plenty of blood in their hands are crammed into a more sympathetic role if the audience resonates too much.

>why was Dante such a dick to him
He probably suspected his human half was still a dick. The only idiot ball moment for Dante was letting V approach Urizen.

>he was willing to share.
That is the least Vergil thing I have ever heard. Ninja Theory, what the fuck are you doing?

>The only idiot ball moment for Dante was letting V approach Urizen
Dante honestly thought V would put Urizen out of his misery, the thing about V actually sharing the same sentiment as Urizen regarding Vergil's beef against Dante did come out of nowhere.

>Don't give that to me. We have one each, brother. :]

>3 demons are a part of Vergil's consciousness, his nightmares
>Dante notices that they have zero chance of winning yet they still fight as if they want to atone for something with their death
>they are all ready to die and seem to go out in peace
>tfw Vergil was adamant that his life is going to be ended in his last duel with Dante but his son has appeared to give him the biggest FUCK YOU possible and force him to snap out of his suicidal mindset

Vergil is such a pathetic character at this point. I hope he gets some sort of victory eventually.

>I hope he gets some sort of victory eventually.
The whole point is that he is never going to win, his ideals were placed in the wrong.

he wont. he's the vegeta of the series

The rivalry doesnt really start in DmC until Dante beats him the fuck out.. Ironically the DLC is the same plotline as DMCV where Vergil gives up his heart for for more power.

V is proof that he has some good ideals in him. He can change.

do anyone know how to trigger scene 7 and 8 for mission 18? cant seem to find anything bout it

Killing griffon must be what having to put down your dog feels like.

Rest in piece little chicken. ;_;7

Does anyone have good screenshot of this middle finger moment?

- Full villain early on.
- Unexpectedly became too popular.
- Creators gave up on letting him truly die.
- Never fully answered for their crimes.
- Shifted their previous evil mindset into something more affable.
- Gets power ups handed to him after the protagonust got theirs, as not to be left behind.

Yeah, he checks all the Vegeta marks.

atleast he's not a manlet

Vergil never had an evil mindset.

In DMC1 he had no mindset, and in 3 and 5 he just wanted to beat Dante but accidentally the whole city.

Everything after the Urizen fight is fucking stupid and just pointless fanservice and pandering. It should have just ended on that fight with V finishing him off and crumbling to dust.

pic related to (you):

Now that I think about it, Vergil probably felt pretty guilty. Do you think he would have committed sudoku if he defeated Dante?

>accidentally
Yeah, I'm sure he didnt expect demons to go through the portal after opening the gates to hell just to gain spardas power.

Attached: 1543983220452.png (473x436, 240K)

That was a calculated risk.

He would've sealed the tree, then proceeded to fight as many demons in Hell as he could before dying.

>Sorry, Not sorry
Pretty sure he wouldn't lose any sleep over the deaths of any humans

>but accidentally the whole city.
How the hell is that "accidentally", Vergil knew too well what the Temen-ni-Gru was and what it did, and after it rose up he gave no fucks about it; in Urizen's case is not even arguable, he is Vergil's pure evil half so here he wasn't even indirectly killing people but downright seeking to kill them off to get oceans of blood for his apple.

>if he defeated Dante
they were using insane power levels at the end and going to kill each other with the last attack. There would also probably be a huge ass explosion after that killing even more millions.

His human part, V, spent the whole game trying to undo what Vergil does in the other games, kinda, through undoing what ergil does

So calculated and expected deaths for his selfish goal, undisputably evil.

it was a ruse so his full body could be reborn. thats why he made sure to tag along everytime dante or nero fights urizen just in case urizen were to die

I wonder if it's a coincidence that the OST reminds me about Devilman Crybaby so much given that the game would probably end in the same way (or a double suicide) if Nero weren't there to stop them both.

V gets many victories and ultimately completes his goal

Vergil is a cuck. Goes through all this trouble and effort to gain ''massive'' power just to keep getting BTFO by his brother who is just jacking off and eating pizza all the time. Also gets btfo by his son. Whata joke.

V is part of Vergil but he isn't Vergil. Much of Vergil's character is his pursuit of power and abandonment of his humanity, struggles that V didn't have.

He still pulled a last selfish act though, he wanted to be Vergil once again to fight Dante, his motives weren't 100% altruistic, if V just wanted to end it all he would've let himself die and leave Urizen to die as well.

come on bro, as if your evil half wouldn't do some wacky shit if it could, you can't blame him for that

Attached: meme_magic.gif (640x571, 73K)

V made it very clear they both have the same pursuit of power before joining with him again though.

>Much of Vergil's character is his pursuit of power and abandonment of his humanity, struggles that V didn't have.
All of that boils down to Vergil's eternal desire to fight Dante though, which in the end V said word for word is also something he has.

No, the thing they had in common is a resolve to finish the business with Dante.

He did change in 5's ending though, but he's being kind of an ass about it because of his autism

Urizen didnt seem to care much for dante. He was just sitting in his comfy chair while doing some demonic gardening. Even when Dante showed up he didnt seem much interested in defeating him and didnt bother finishing him off or searching for him when Dante engaged him and lost.

>Introducing DMC5 with three playable characters including the mysterious never seen before 'V'!
>Okay, so the V stands for Vergil, right?
>N-no, it's an entirely new character and--
>But he's Vergil, isn't he?
>P-please be excited for the newest demon hunter who has no connection to Vergil
>He was Vergil

Arkham Knight's script was a cautionary tale, not a guide, Capcom.

Memes aside, this, and I don't know why it's so hard for some people to follow. As if full autism Vergil would really give a fuck about fighting his son and win against Dante "by default". He was just fucking around and both he and Dante played along to not embarrass Nero during his hero moment. Nero was basically the special needs kid stopping a wrestling match.

That's because Urizen already believed himself to be superior to Dante early on, and he was since he did beat Dante down hard, when Dante went Sin DT and Urizen got his demon apple he wanted to kill Dante once and for all to prove his ideals were in the right.

He didn't have any of Vergil's memories but still knew Dante and as soon as he walked in, so he must still have a little bit of that autistic passion to fight his twin

Seriously Vergil, just tell you fucking son that you love him. Come on! Do it! No, don't just throw the book on the ground!

In my defence, I was still flabberghasted by everything that happened after the Urizen fight.

I mean they really were trying to kill each other before Nero intervened, it was him who made them have a change of heart, now they just fight because they really fricking enjoy fighting as seen during the end credits, they even started counting their own scores.

Thread ended here

V at least acts as a different character, Arkham Knight was Jason Todd in every way just with a new suit, also Matt and Itsuno dodged answering people who tried to guess V's identity meanwhile Rocksteady flat out said Arkham Knight was a full new character who had no previous connection to Batman.

He got better.

>I mean they really were trying to kill each other
The problem with your theory is that there's no proof that this is even possible. When have they ever held back?

They were on Sin DT, for what reason would they do that if not to actually have that be their last fight? They never held back but they didn't have that sort of power before either. Besides, they aren't even using that form during their fight in the post credits scene.
