That first one is well made but it's intentionally overly difficult so it's not for everyone. The rest are either rudimentary beginner efforts or just plain bad.
Everything I didn't list is worth checking out (and keep in mind that these are only the entries to the latest fan mission contest, there's a shit ton more FMs beyond this).

This is a mod? How are mod maps compared to the original, anyway? I remember having shitload of fun with custom maps for MoH:AA a long time ago.

They're fan missions. There are probably over 1000 of them that have been made over the years so naturally there's a lot of crap but there's also a lot that I'd say are better or at least about as good as any given level from the originals.
The problem of course is that the originals were full games, with original cutscenes and voice acting and overarching stories so it's hard for standalone maps to compete with that. There are some FM campaigns but the longer ones are hit or miss (Thief2x is worth playing, and TBP - youtube.com/watch?v=wlUujCx_yoA - is pretty much guaranteed to be great whenever it comes out).

I may get into the scene if I end up having more free time. Wonder if we'll ever get a proper Thief successor though, The Dark Mod was kinda hit or miss.
