5G Game Streaming

So 5G is right around the corner, when the 9th gen consoles come out, what are you gonna subscribe to Yea Forums? Playstation Now or Project XCloud?

5g is mobile you stupid nigger
Its slower than wired fiber connections
Jesus OP at least do some research you drooling troglodyte

game "streaming" will never work due to physics, especially not in rural america.
imagine playing a shitty 2019 video game except with at least 50ms on top of your normal online bullshit.

light can only travel so fast, and using 5g internet (lmao) is even worse because sound travels retardedly slow in comparison to fiber

5G is a gimmick with 0 range don't touch that shit for 5 years

Pretty sure 5G is for mobile dude.

100mb/s connection can't even get you 1080p, 30 fps, with anything less than a metric fuck ton of input lag on PlayStation Now.

Streaming isn't the future of games, it's the death of games.

We're about to entire an era of even more cinematic bullshit games built around MASSIVE input delay and MUH CINEMATIC 24FPS and the players inability to actually interact with their games efficiently.

Nah senpai, games are gonna be aight. Consoles will still exist as is, it's just streaming is going to be a cheaper option for some.

>imagine playing a shitty 2019 video game except with at least 50ms on top of your normal online bullshit.

I've see many people praise games that struggle to run at 25fps and have input lag of over 200ms as being "great fun". I don't doubt for a second we'll get to the stage where online only anti-piracy measures means that is how ALL games will play and most people won't even care.

If it's "good enough", I wouldn't be surprised if some big games become streamable only in the future, so terrified of piracy that publishers seem to be, which will also kill off modding like nothing else.

I'm so glad download speeds are increasing so I can hit my fucking data cap on my HOME INTERNET faster

5G cancer streaming

>data cap
What's that?
Some third world shit?

THE NETFLIX OF GAMES! THE FUTURE OF VIDEO GAMES IS HERE
wow! you did you enjoy that game you played last year? wanna play it again! too bad lol we took it down. YES
do you wanna play video games on a bitstarved 1080p yify quality video feed? YES
do you want your isp to introduce new billing tiers because you streamed video games all day! YES

Get fucked.

Enjoy your subscription based streaming future where you have to have half a dozen $20 a month subscriptions just to enjoy games from different publishers.
Enjoy your no mods.
Enjoy your "always online".
Enjoy your "please insert your credit card details to continue playing" screens mid session at the end of the payment period.
Enjoy your "Online" fee in addition to your "Subscription" fee, I mean, you do want to play the games you're already streaming online, online, don't you?
Enjoy your waiting queues for server slots to even start streaming your game.
Enjoy your drop outs and failed to connects due to server load.
Enjoy everything being designed for the lowest common denominator gamer which was previously drooling console fucktards, but will now include literally EVERYONE who has an electronic device of any kind as the mobile and mainstream gaming space merge.

This is the future apathy and complacency will afford you faggot.

5G is currently just a meme to trick tech illiterates to buy another 1200$ phone, it has worse range and penetration than 4G even, all the high-bandwidth stuff only works at close range and in non-urban environments without complete spectrum saturation, and that's assuming there are towers nearby.

These. It's odd that some harpies clapped like a fucking monkey everytime any "new" tech comes out. It's every bit fucking obvious that publisher will jew the hell out of the new model. Like every fucking medical technological advancement. Why the hell do you think CORPORATE are so into trangender rights. Because pharma get boatloads of money by lying to mental ills that transitioning is THEIR only salvation. As if some kind of a rebound effect never existed prior.

>literally MMORPGs experience without the MMO experience
top kek. But hey at least pirates will get BTFO.
>despite the fact that pirates will ALWAYS finds a way

this. just as with current always online bullshit, pirates will continue to get the better experience while paying customers get fucked

Probably burgerlander internet, so yes.

It will *never* be truly accepted because the image quality and input lag are so inferior to the real thing

>>despite the fact that pirates will ALWAYS finds a way

Exactly how often do you find pirates "finding a way" with MMOs? Some things are just not technically feasible no matter how determined you are.

>one video game please

Attached: aaz.png (2970x1872, 1.76M)

Pirates won't exist, you can't webrip a videogame

It's a canadian thing

Do we really need this? Is gaming that expensive?

if streaming becomes the only way of playing games then it will be dead to me as a medium anyway. I don't see it happening. regardless of what people have said about plebs and latency itt, the most popular games are currently competitive shooters.

I used to play wow and didn't pay a single cent.

Will this prevent ISP from robbing you blind ? If not I'm not interested.

>Exactly how often do you find pirates "finding a way" with MMOs?
Literally all the fucking time?

In fact pirates are the only reason shit like Phantasy Star Online, a fucking DREAMCAST MMO is still alive.

Pirates are the reason Vanilla WoW servers have existed for years.

Pirates are also the reason as to why Demon Souls still has servers, and will always have servers on PC.

>So 5G is right around the corner
lol no it's not, lmao fucking phone slaves holy shit

Whoops.
>I don't see it happening. regardless of what people have said about plebs and latency itt, the most popular games are currently competitive shooters.

Your memory must be short, because back in the late 90's competitive shooters were the most popular games, and they involved going SANIC fast, having extremely fast reflexes, insane hand eye coordination and yet what followed? An era of Halo and COD, games that got slower, no longer involved going fast, no longer involved having insane hand eye coordination etc and were designed around using a controller.

And look at the state of "competitive" shooters now, they're more casual than even Halo and COD, oh and just to reiterate your "the most popular games are currently competitive shooters." point, no, the most popular games are currently Fortnite and PubG ON MOBILE.

If you think shit won't be dumbed again yet again to appeal to largest market, which will be people streaming on phones, tablets and televisions, then you're as dumb as your posts make you sound.

5G can be used to kill humans

just like SUN

Perfect example is RDR2. It has some of the worst input lag I've ever played with and it routinely drops to 10-15 fps in cities yet it has a 97 on metacritic

holy fuck you're stupid
electro-magnetic radiation moves at the speed of light
not that's it relevant when over the air is only a small portion of your connection and most of it happens between the base station and trunk network via fiber optics
just like LTE and 3G were gimmicks according to tards like you
another retarded nigger thinking 5G is a meme because it cant do things outside the scope of the technology
If you knew anything about the industry you'd know it is indeed the case, weve been developing and testing 5G forever now, including public small scale networks

no seriously, the government and tech firms are going to use it as a weapon against civilians

why do tech threads always make u guys so mad lol

yeah, i bet you read a ton of fake news shit about it killing birds in The Hague and Israel outlawing it. Go back to your low iq ghetto, poltard.

See I'm not actually worried because games that cripple themselves in the name of the piracy boogeyman will be at a disadvantage to games that don't

fucking MSM shill

>5G
How long til we turn the planet into a giant microwave oven?

Pretty sure the sun is doing that far better already than we'll ever be able to do.

And vaccines give you autism and radio waves gives you cancer.
Now keep on eating this 10 times processed food full of additives, the totally not poisoned bottled water in totally not degrading plastic bottles and do not forget to take a deep breath of the marvelous and pure city air.
You know who are the TRUE enemies you must fight.

Attached: honestmerchant.png (800x764, 237K)

5g has been used as a non lethal weapon for a while now. It basically burns your skin slightly (enough to be painful).
Imagine that just casually floating in the air.
I'm not saying that it's going to affect anyone in anyway when normally used in communication or whatnot, but in theory anyone with the skills can turn it into something painful.
Sun might be doing a good job cooking us, but we are definitely doing it to ourselves too at an increasing rate.

>It basically burns your skin slightly (enough to be painful).
>Imagine that just casually floating in the air.

Sounds a lot like sunlight. Does it give you cancer just like sunlight does too? If not it's not worth caring about and if it does it's still probably not worth caring about.

The difference is, you can't alter the power of sunlight, but you definitely can alter the power of the technology we created. Eventually we'll reach the 6g and 7g both of which probably can be used to kill or at least cause serious injury.
I don't think it causes cancer, but that's only my guess.
Also i don't think it's a good idea to create multiple "mini suns" everywhere, when the one that already exists is (mildly) harmful.

>Forget about the house being on fire, we can't do anything about that anyway, but you better put that cigarette out because you might burn your fingers on it.

What does the speed of sound have to do with streaming?

What i'm saying is why start the fire in the first place if you don't have water readily available.
Unless there's going to be something that anyone can pull out of their ass for safety at all times, it's gonna get abused like everything else.

you cant play games with latency, retard.

What you are doing is whining about pissing in the ocean and acting as if it's a world ending event.

If you didn't wanna discuss this in the first place why did you keep replying?
Go be a faggot somewhere else.

I am discussing it. Your are spouting off alarmist crap from a position of abject ignorance. You are telling me about this evil radiation in the air that can burn our skin like I should be shocked at the revelation. Welcome to fucking sunlight, you idiot. Even children are aware of sunburns.

nothing alarmist about the truth

Ill buy whichever console lets me play my games without an internet connection.

You could in theory build a system relying on quantum entanglement or something for inputs with 0 latency.

The human eye can’t see faster than 114ms

not an argument. You play at 50-100 ms input delay every time you play a multiplayer game.

>You could in theory build a system relying on quantum entanglement

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No-communication_theorem

No, you can't.

>like I should be shocked at the revelation
You are the only one who saw it that way. This shit CAN be dangerous if fallen into the wrong hands.
>sunburns
Something with military application is bound to be more than just a "sunburn".
52 degrees (celsius) directly to your nerves is definitely more than a sunburn.

this tbqh. I remember uploading hollow knight boss fights to youtube and wondering why it looks so shit compared to the actual game on my screen. I guess that is what streamed games will look like.
Thi is one vid btw youtube.com/watch?v=hSey7M2J9_U

That's not the case.

>Its slower than wired fiber connections

It’s actually not. Look it up.

If we were in Mass Effect universe, sure.

Hopefully never because I don't another cancer ruining gaming

>52 degrees (celsius) directly to your nerves is definitely more than a sunburn.

That's colder than the shower I take in the morning. This is not hot enough to do any serious damage. It's definitely LESS than a sunburn which is serious radiation damage.

shit

$5.99/hr?
Credit card?
You got it.

>directly to your nerves

Celsius you fucking mongoloid.

Yeah? That's how nerves work, genius.
I know what celsius is. It's what we use in my country.

You aren't taking 52 degree showers. That's the equivalent of hot tap water only.

>Yeah? That's how nerves work, genius.
>directly
Skin and flesh won't affect it like when sunlight "hits your nerves".

5G will literally be the death of us all.

4G was a gimmick not 3G nor LTE

>That's the equivalent of hot tap water only.
No. Actually 52 is illegal for a hot water system. The hot water system must be kept at 60-65 minimum to prevent bacterial growth. Mine is in the 70s so straight out of the tap is very, very uncomfortable but not instantly scalding.
How exactly do you think nerves work? By magic? They need contact with something to know about it.

Radiation -> nerves -> you feel ouchie
Hot water, sunlight everything you normally feel is softened by your skin and flesh.
Radiation penetrates both and affects the nerve directly causing a lot more pain than it would normally touching something with similar temperatures.

Retard

Technically it is slower than wired connections, but considering how cucked Americans are by ISPs and infrastructure , 5G would definitely be a massive increase in speed

No but even if you were right sunlight radiation penetrates the skin anyway, champ. That's why it gives us cancer. It penetrates and damages DNA.

It's also an Burgerland thing. Thankfully I don't have to deal with it but my friends who have Comcast do.

Yeah it was bad example since nearly all radiation penetrates skin.
But some do more than others, which seems to be the case with 5g.

Can you boomers please leave this site? The 2016 election seriously did a number on Yea Forums, holy shit, Jesus Christ, rip.

No dude, you can get a 1:1 1080p image with 55 Mbs bitrate. Try geforceNow if you wanna see game streaming done right

>that whole post
Americans, everyone

Attached: 15503422757125223.jpg (526x1950, 310K)

>having data caps on Wired Internet
ayyy lmao and they say North America is advanced, but not even my country Spain has data caps on any goddamn Wired connection sooooooo.... lmfao man

>The absolute state of mutts
Yikes, must be all that brown dna fucking with their IQs

5g uses two things, mmwave and sub-6ghz wave

the sub-6ghz is used for data and phone calls and whatever just like LTE, however mmwave is where you start getting into some real fucking problems.

mmwave is used for mapping, so you bring one of these devices into your home that uses mmwave and it will be able to see absolutely everything in there, what's moving, the layout, how many people, etc, etc, and it operates all the way from 30ghz to 300ghz that's the one you need to be worried about not the sub-6ghz wave.

Not him but i think he meaned that going from 4g usb key to 5g usb key will mean that the data cap on these (there is one in spain too) will be hitted faster.

oh, the mobile data cap.
well, to be fair I have 40gb mobile data per month and I never fucking manage to use them all. :^)

Yep. Just streaming to my Steamlink through about 80ft of CAT6 the latency is detectable and it's only like 15ms.
It's fine for slow or medium paced games but if you try to play twitchy or timing based games you can really notice the latency.

The tank water is over 60C. There are tempering devices which ensure that what is coming from the tap is around 50C as 60C will scald. Nice google fu attempt though, asshole.

The days of Shinobido being recognized as the greatest game of all time is soon at hand

>There are tempering devices which ensure that what is coming from the tap is around 50C as 60C will scald

Utter crap. The water comes out at whatever temperature it is and it fluctuates quite widely. For example, on a cold day you have to clear a lot of cold water from your pipes before you get to the hot water and on a hot day you'll be clearing a lot of warm water from your cold water pipes before the cold stuff starts coming out. There's no smarts there and there's no law saying there needs to be. To be scalded by hot water it's going to need to be above 80. At around 60 it'll make your skin go red for a short time, maybe be a little uncomfortable, and that's about it.

Fucking mutts lol

I use wifi and bluetooth all the time and it's all over my home in all directions.
But I am still not convinced that all these waves aren't actually impacting us negatively somehow.

Just dont buy into streaming platforms. No customers and it goes tits up. Simple.

Attached: 1290468401671.jpg (640x312, 75K)

Go listen to Gabe Newell talk about this streaming shit. It only works till it gets popular, then it goes to shit because too many people clog up the servers and make it worse.

I'm on wireless internet since a decade trust me it's really bad for online gaming you get random disconnections and the ping/jiitter is jumpy af.

Post yfw games will run at sub-10fps on next-gen consoles because of shit internet connection

>sound travels retardedly slow in comparison to fiber
>being this dumb
are you allowed to go outside without a helmet on?
