I just built one in the swamps. Not going to lie I've been LOVING the shit out of this game so far before the base building but now that I've started a base I'm not enjoying it. It's nothing but frustration and cursing because the AI is so shit and I can't get any of the jobs to work properly. So far I think the base building is the worse part of this game

I was really into this game a few years back and I am trying to get back into it now that its out of early access and people are talking about it. But how the hell do I get myself out of the initial wanderer start grind? I feel like all I can do to get by is mine copper and every time I try to start a base I immediately get my shit kicked in by raiders.

How do I get the ball rolling in the early game?

Kidnap a starving bandit, then fight and heal him continuously to train. As you get more party members, you can expand this a bit.

but it all works perfectly. are you building storage containers for your inputs and outputs?

I have that down, but how do I turn these higher combat skills into a tangible source of income?

I built my Skeleton Dojo in the grey desert because of the 200% copper and iron

I'm still moving my guys around.

Yes but my engineer keeps doing the "ditching-resources" thing and putting the building materials back into the storage instead of building it and my archers won't attack someone breaking down the gate unless I manually tell them to because apparently attacking the gate doesn't make them hostile. They also randomly stop and become aimless even though they have jobs qued and don't start until I notice they're not moving and manually move them closer to the machine the jobs at. Just feels like I have to individually tell them to do everything and it's frustrating the hell out of me

Bounties, install this mod and go hunting.

Dont forget an xp multiplier mod to ease the grind

Do you need a party to be viable? Solo play seems more fun.

You're best to build for weapons that hit in an area like choppers and boards.

you can just open game editor and change your own stats if you want to go god mode

Any one else like the bugs? I currently have a squad of 20 bugs and it's robot limbs galore. Feels good

There any rape/breeding in this game?

Just south of the band of bones exile camp thats south of the waystation closest to the shek city thats built in between big stone walls.

It was right on the border of the swamp.

Only thing that ever bothered me was dust bandits, starvers, and the occasional krals chosen (who were capable of fucking my shit up easy.)

lots of stone, water, iron, and copper.

do you have some kind of reshade or mod? my game looks like shit.

thanks a bunch

The fastest way to get out of the early grind is just to steal expensive shit and then sell it elsewhere.

If you want to steal shit easily, go to shark, enter the bar, and wait for a semi scripted fight to start, often it leaks out and the entire town starts fighting endlessly and you can just loot easilly.

the best way to play is just to fight humans and get your ass kicked until you can kick ass back. Don't fight animals though, they'll eat you.

These dumb motherfuckers never learn. Built my first base in the desert then moved into Okrans' Valley when I got bored of hunting for food all the time. Attacked the first H*ly nation patrol which came knocking and locked them up to be punching bags/pincushions. I think they're dead now though. I captured the phoenix and see only stray paladins now with shitty armour

I always make a base not far away from a neutral party hub like tech hunters
My first ever base was in the in desert near the shek kingdom, it was a fucking mess because I was getting bombarded by Reavers, krals chosen, dust bandits, starving bandits, cannibals (somehow), and the holy faggots.

Where do i get cages for captives?

same desu

i love the game but the base building stuff just isnt for me, it just bores me and id rather be doing anything else

>started as a slave
how long before i can start assassinating these guards?

My base is in a valley between Squin and the waystation to the south east, right up against a cliff to make defending easier. Shek's Chosen, Band of Bones and Dust Bandits must've taken over a dozen times before I got enough lads and defenses together to defend it perpetually. Now I'm making hashish, cactus rum and grog by the hundreds, smithing masterwork armor and Mk.II weapons, and sending my main lads out on missions all over the continent. It's cozy as fuck mane.

>a few years back
Didn't it just release?

a while

it was out in early access since like 2013

So I have 5 people and have a bunch of tech researched. When should I go set up a base? Also if I pick the trader start can I just make a public base and have a shop going?

Built my base in the swamp hoping that, between the fucking spiders, raptors and ninjas, I'd get a lot of work out of my fighters but none of the local gangs are sending out proper raids. Later on I thought joining the Hounds would set the other clans to war with me but it ended up just meaning on top of no attacks, I also have a bunch of Hounds loitering around my base

Where's a good place to build that gets attacked a lot without having to piss off your nearest town faction? Preferably something not in the ugly, rocky desert

Downloading this right now, not gonna bother with any guides or tips for maximum fun. Wish me luck, lads

yeah I tried to play it in 2013 and the shit was so primitive and janky it was practically unplayable, so I uninstalled it after 30 minutes of playtime.
Is it worth giving this game a second chance??

it's cheap but you can abuse mounted crossbows and enemy pathing through built objects to make your base completely impenetrable. Once you do that you can dedicate resources to your armor and weapon smiths and make infinite money.

for sure, its mostly a fully functioning game

A nice central position near Black Desert to dump all non-masterwork armor that was crafted.

I like to wonder, loot, and buy property.

My character and my wondering team of waifus have a real-eastate empire atm. Been a bit hesitant to start a town because it seems like a pain in the ass when you can literally just buy out existing towns with free guards. But my play style is probably retarded and i save scum the shit out of this char for good outcomes.

My other characters basically mine and farm shit while staying at hotels and looting stuff until i can buy a house to store my things

I always thought hobbs was trying to lure me somewhere to kill me with a fairytale. Tell him to fuck off usually, whoops

Build one in your home or town

>mine some copper and trade it for enough materials for half a shack
>make a campfire
>instantly raided by 20 bandits that kill me for not giving them twenty thousand credits
I did that for 7 hours on a few characters, I guess I'm too much of a brainlet to play these games.

SHONKERS

I built in Sinkuun, right on the peninsula, allied myself with the Farmers. Since I somehow avoided getting completely hated by the UC i'll hold off on all out war for now. My main group has been picking up AI cores for a couple weeks now, and I basically just have the skele limb research to do.

Is there no way to learn how to craft edge type two? Do I have to rely on critsuccess's?

Attached: 20190302163722_1.jpg (1600x1024, 340K)

Its because there is no mid game at all. You are either a shit 1 in every stat grunt or you are a god with enough resources to set up a bustling town and have enough money to pay off any bullshit taxes or mercenaries you need to pay to defend your base (Assuming you need them by the time you can do this). Im going back to mount and blade

We playing the same game?
>Early is shit 1 grabbing allies, small controlled engagements as you move from town to town
>Mid is buying a town house, traveling to and looting second empire libraries, research
>Late game is First empire ruin looting, second empire armory looting, base building
>End game is wiping out the factions that piss you off.

How do you ally with a faction? Is it just raising your reputation with them or can you actually formally join up with them somehow?

The ones I know of are
>Big three
Raise rep through bounties, conversly joining the traders guild will ally you with UC, Traders, and slavers for 100000 cats
>rebel farmers
send one starving person to their base, if you aren't hated they'll let you in, talk to the boss and ask to join up. He'll even give you some bread.
>Hounds
Can't remember who you talk too, but you gotta do a smuggling run for them. Basically sprint down to Clownsteady, or just have the amount she wants. Not like she knows where the money is coming from, long as she gets it.
