Is this game pretty much dead now?

What is this?

Just cause there’s no threads here don’t mean people aren’t playing it. The normies’ shit taste cannot be underestimated.

oh shit, what's this new bioware rpg? is it any good?

How can they play it when it kills their console lol

yes

Their fault for teasing me with alien cocks and stop delivering afterwards.

>PoE
>new league just started
>only 2,8k
Hmm..

Even a retard understands that there is a limited amount of looter shooters and battle royals you can do since they're endless or long time open end games and the bubbles only contain that many players.
Just do single player games again for fucks sake.

I have the choice of BFV, Anthem and Metro free with a new gpu coming next week, which should I pick?

That was fixed today.

Its more EA garbage. Who cares?

>judging games by how many people watch and not play

Ok

Yeah, development is clearly in a place more troubled than anything I have ever seen. Honestly. In 30 years of gaming or more.

They changed a skill yesterday and the patch says "Note: Skill description will be updated in 1.04"

So, that means somehow, it is difficult to change something as rudimentary as a skill description, or it has to go through a different team than the "balance team", or it has to follow a different process to integrate it in the game, etc.

It just doesn't make any sense. Twice they accidentally broke the game so that more loot dropped, the players went insane over it, twice they "fixed" it.

They just visibly don't have the development talent to make the game. It's sad as fuck. I feel like playing through ME2 because I'm genuinely sad they're gone.

This is a pull the plug scenario. Fixing the game would require tens of millions invested and will not happen. The roadmap will be abandoned and owners will be given some kind of Origin store coupon.

What makes me sad is that this game was in development for years and years.

I mean what the fuck were they doing for most of that time? Getting high?

Everyone's too busy playing DMC5

Metro is on Epic Store but even then it's still leagues better than BFV or Anthem.

There is no reason to make a thread about this. Making another one about how much of a failure it is it's just beating a dead horse, and the game has so little content and depth that people who actually like it already ran out of things to talk about.

Was this fixed? youtube.com/watch?v=OS7F_PVk0n8

Is it just me or the crystal looks weird?

Yes.

when a game is in development for a long time and then is not good, it means the game was restarted and years of work were thrown away

if you play Anthem, it is ENTIRELY OBVIOUSLY CLEAR that this was meant to be more like a mass effect or kotor type game. It was not a looter shooter. Period. There is absolutely no way.

So they were probably a year from finishing and EA said "make this like the division instead" and the rest is history.

One of the worst wastes of money in gaming history.

Most beautiful world/best graphics of any game right now. Nothing to do in it.

Flying Javelin and fighting and using abilities feels amazing. Two different enemies to kill and no reason to grind or play.

Characters are the absolute best performance captured characters in anything yet, hands down. It's not even close. But they're telling you a story that you don't care about (I'm going to go get loot right?) and the insistence on making characters ugly or weird looking on purpose is just asinine at this point.

this was going to be a GREAT game at one point. EA didn't let it happen.

GaaS (Games as a service) is fucking genius, you don't have to finish shit, just launch with a roadmap, outsource 2d/3d coding work to India/China/South Africa, pay the suckers like $2k each a month to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week, pump more budget into marketing, get Indians to rip apart any criticism on major platforms for release week or two. Boom, money money money.

Andrew Wilson is a genius.

EA found its true calling.

Those fuckers really are evil to the core.

games as a service is literally already over as a concept. it's failed. there were just several high profile failures

people only have so much time, money, and care.

the next wave is aggressive marketing: take a game like celeste for example. you'd be able to get a doll of the girl, the hipster guy in the game, plush of the girl, plush of enemies, backpack, hoodie, her shirt, etc etc

even for small little games-- 100% marketization of every factor of the game.

I was thinking of getting Anthem because Metro I can easily pirate, and BFV doesn't interest me, Anthem is the only game that's MP only, and being free I think it may be worth it in the long run. I'll decide between Metro and Anthem when the cards arrives.

Bullshit, GaaS games make money and costs you about 50-60% of releasing a "full" game, if you don't get bites you pull the plug, assign skeleton staff, keep Indians on board to shill the roadmap on major platforms, and start with the next project.

Consumers are retarded, and GaaS is the future.

Battlefield V was half a game, intentionally, just give Jackfrags $20k and he'll shill it to 500k-1m viewers, repeat that with a bunch of other morally flexible influencers and you can build hype to get great sales.

Pay a bunch of poos who can write English to fuck with perception hard on any major online platform, those cunts work 12 hours for pennies, all week long baby.

If sales are weaker, just pull the plug, assign some joke staff to "maintain" your GaaS, and get your purple haired faggot Swedes to start with the next big project.

Don't, I am the guy writing the long responses in this thread

It is 100% dead and your money will quite literally be wasted. Get Metro.

If you just want to see the shiniest graphics possible get Anthem I guess. It is graphically pretty special.

>if you play Anthem, it is ENTIRELY OBVIOUSLY CLEAR that this was meant to be more like a mass effect or kotor type game. It was not a looter shooter. Period. There is absolutely no way.
That's why big companies needs to get fucked. They destroy everything. Even the ME games suffered from a lot of bullshit caused by pure commercialism and a lack of time or too many retarded changes. Fuck everything. All games should be made by dedicated fans.

its not even worth getting mad over

true gamers are playing indie shit which is about ten times better than it ever has been in history

its so shit not even Yea Forums wants to talk about it

I always find it odd how the suits looked like the different species of Mass Effect. The Collossos is shaped like a Krogan for example, I recognize Turian and Asari too in the other Javelin types.

No, it's just so unremarkable, that the only people who pushed discussion were brown people paid by marketing departments to push it for the critical release window. That window is over now, on to the next project.

get what you want user. I would just get anthem though

>I mean what the fuck were they doing for most of that time?
Too busy virtue signaling about how diverse they are rather than hiring people who know what the fuck they’re doing.

in the course of this thread i have realized you were clearly meant to go

Colossus -> Ranger -> Storm/Interceptor

in the main game. You start out with a raggedy older javelin, get a nice modern one, and then get a top of the line specialized one depending on if you wanted physical or magic. Obviously you'd be able to use them all by the end.

>ME games suffered from a lot of bullshit
That's an understatement, their shift from ME1 to ME2 was almost as big as DA:O to DA2.

>All games should be made by dedicated fans.
That ship has sailed. Nowadays some indies can still get lucky and get somewhere but in five years when gaming-by-streaming is consolidated all indies will die and all that will be left are the huge corporations making copy pasted sanitized blockbusters.

ME2 is a better game than ME1.

>but it has less pedantic RPG features
oh well?

>true gamers are playing indie shit which is about ten times better than it ever has been in history
Yeah me too. Still sad over wasted potential and characters, concepts or settings that gut fucked up thanks to these idiots.
I always wonder if they even realise how popular indie stuff is and why it is popular. But the problem is probably that true gamers will always be a minority, and companies don't give a shit about them. They want the big masses of school kids that throw money at them for cheap merch or shitty costumes and loot boxes.

Are you retarded? This is just the beginning.

These companies need to just make better single player instead capitalism shows how lazy humans are in all medias.

Attached: tat.png (480x600, 372K)

Nothing wrong with spending less and making more, it's just business.

>Consumers are retarded, and GaaS is the future.
Same shit as with MMOs. It's hard to shove your dick into established market. You make a looter shooter and buy a bunch of ads, but your game can just die like Anthem did.

No, it's really not. games as a service is already reaching a limit.

People just don't have all day dude.

They released a MVP in times where other companies released games like RDR2, Horizon Zero Dawn or Zelda BotW and games that do the formula better like Destiny 2 and Borderlands already exist.
What did they expect? That the visuals carry the whole thing? Naïve.

It might have "died" to you, but I'm sure they made a decent profit. GaaS is fantastic for shareholders.

GaaS isn't just looter shooters. Fortnite is GaaS. Siege is GaaS. DOTA 2 is GaaS. League of Legends is GaaS. I could go on. They're everywhere.

Das right

I have Origin Premier because i need the sports game yearly when friends come over, I'm playing Anthem on/off but last week was full Dawn of Man, comfy paleolithic surviving

I am pretty sure that even the first game has suffered because of this despite being a good game and far superior to the sequels.
Some random detail that comes into my mind is the villain's design. I love it but it always pissed me off how we are supposed to believe that nobody ever realised something was wrong with a guy that basically mutated into an android in the course of a few years or so. I mean he had tubes all over his body and a geth arm. Considering that they actually planned on giving him some other design at first that made him blend in into the community I guess this was either bullshit caused by production chaos or some stupid CEO idea who doesn't know how writing works.
The general lack of models for NPCs were a bit of a let down too. You never saw any that were bigger, smaller, fatter or otherwise different than the rest. And we barely saw any inhabited places other than the citadel. Everything just felt like it could have been improved a lot of they had more time or less chaos and editor bullshitery.

Yeah, new mobas are not coming. New R6 Siege is nowhere to be seen...
Apex Legends is the only successful new entry in established BR genre.
But the future is so bright.

EA GaaS is the best though, Battlefront 2, Andromeda, Battlefield V, Anthem. You launch with the minimal requirement to pass as a "full game", you detail "roadmaps", and you assign people to those roadmaps depending on sales, or just straight up abandon it and start with the next GaaS.

It's clear consumers don't give a shit so why ever stop this when you get a nice rhythm going.

Do you actually like playing video games or just talking about stocks?

>It's clear consumers don't give a shit

Battlefront 2: Monumental failure
Andromeda: Monumental failure
Battlefield V: Monumental failure
Anthem: Monumental failure

EA's stock price during this time: Down 25% permanently, wiping out over a decade of progress and tens of billions of dollars of value

Yeah, nobody cares and consumers just swallow up everything. Except smart little kids like you.

All of that shit you listed made money not sure where you're getting at.

No, they didn't. Not one of those games made a profit.

No, it didn't. Anthem alone is going to lose EA over 200 million dollars.

These things are all built to make money, not for your fucking shit taste in entertainment. Who gives a shit about games.

>ASSFAGGOTS is GaaS
Not really. They amount of content added over time for those games is extremely small, and that's the expectation.

user, you're kind of not listing or purposefully ignoring EA's perpetual money-making machine, sports games.

wasnt what was being discussed try to keep up

i fucking hate how zoomer posters dont fucking follow posts back to see what was being discussed. you just have to insert your stupid fucking words.

>HoMM3 on that list
The hell

When they lose 25% of their stock price in one year due to these failures, what do you think happens to the money from those profits user?

Based seething retards not realizing there was a tech dip across the board and that EA is still making huge Dollars with all these services and casinos.

Andrew Wilson is a fucking genius, up there with Bobby Kotick.

just one popular streamer playing it.

What is the point of worrying about money other men are making? It's pathetic.

Battlefield V sold a lot of copes. Not as many as Battlefield One, but close to that.

It was not a failure, despite controversy.

Never seen a collection of so many terrible games in one spot.

it was a huge failure, as it tremendously devalued the "battlefield" brand

Battlefield is a normie franchise. These people do not give a shit and don't know about online flame wars between leftist devs and poltards.

Dogshit game that literally bricks consoles and bans people for exploiting all the bugs in it. Hard to imagine something could come out to try and top Fallout 76 so soon but here we go.

Your post has absolutely no content, meaning or value. It's not a rebuttal to anything I said. It doesn't provide insight or clarity.

Next Battlefield with modern weapons will sell 15 million copies.

people already moved past battlefield dude. why would anyone buy it when fortnite is free and apex is free

These are games for kids. Fat tired middleaged normies do not play highly competitive zoomer games, they want Battlefield chill.

>t. didn't play GoW 1, PubG, etc.

Did this release? Was it a small indie game?

AAA will keep publishing the same games over and over again untill people wont buy them

People are already not buying them user try to keep up

PUBG probably had a $1 million budget, not $400 million. These things are considered relative to budget and talent user.

Metro, it’s the only even decent one

Would anybody be surprised by now if it wasn't actually fixed at all?
