Convince me not to buy a prebuilt gaming PC. Way I see it I can get a high-end rig for a good price, all the work and assembly is done for me, and it will look way cooler than one I could build myself as a novice.

Actually, pre built pcs make sense economically now, unless something changed.

This what retardation manifests itself as

There's no reason not to if you are not familiar with pc's. Just make sure the seller specifies exactly what each part is (manufacturer, model etc), a lot of them will try to rip you off with cheap motherboards and stock coolers.

I got one on sale with a 2070 for 1200. Good price and I don't regret it

>look way cooler

If your PC has a see through side or any visible lights, you're a huge dumb gaudy faggot

if your intelligence is so low that you cant spend an hour building a PC to save $200, then do it

>this what
Pot meet kettle

Because building/assembling is fun and easy.

it's literally adult legos, i built my first PC at 15 and saved $2,000

Because most high end gaming pcs are far beyond what any normal person needs for gaming, let alone being overpriced on their own.

The work and assembly is relatively nonexistent, just make sure that you follow directions to the letter, and to not force anything.

Also, they can look real cool if you want them to.

"looking cooler" is something that's pointless.
A "cool looking" case might not have good airflow/noise management and your nice $2000 PC is running your CPU at 60 celsius while idle or has the spinning at full speed while it's only 30 celsius since it thinks the CPU is overheating

Cable management and generally "if it works" ability - open a pre-built PC and you'll be told by the spastic who sold it that "ohh geez no, you gotta pay $300 a year for our premium tip-top repair and upgrade scheme, if you open it, you void warranty".

Poorly made/cheap parts. Sure, it has a 1TB SSD but by who? Some 4th world country breathing in poison gas in a factory working 20 hours a day? That GTX 2080 ti, by what company? Is it slotted in right or loose and breaking overtime?

If you're in Europe then sure since the whatever the fuck EU law about electronics covers computers for I think 6 years (eg replace it or give me money you stupid fucks). But if you're in some place without that law, just build the fucking thing yourself. Even get the dickhead in IT who handles PC issues in your job to do it and throw them $50

Acer Predator 21 X
I dare you to get it.
DO IT FAGGOT!!!

I can't. I bought a prebuilt in 2016 from cyberpower and it's been the best PC I've ever owned and was just as cheap as building it myself.

I built my first PC at 8 and saved 4 billion dollars

No retard that was only true for a few months during the crypto bubble.

As for op enjoy your PSU blowing up and taking several things or with it. Especially if you go with cyber or Ibuypower
>but my warranty
Assuming it dies under warranty they'll replace it with an equally shitty PSU. Sometimes even refurbished parts and you'll be in the same boat a few months

Aside from a cheaper price to build, you'll avoid 100% of spyware and adware BS that comes with a prebuild.

Unless you install windows 10

>I can get a high-end rig for a good price
custom builds are still cheaper
>all the work and assembly is done for me
>it will look way cooler than one I could build myself as a novice
you won't get better if you don't even try, user.

another problem with prebuilts that isn't brought up often are the parts.
stores will go with the cheapest dogshit they can get away with, and sometimes flat out lie about specs because they know their target audience won't notice

You don't need to buy a prebuilt because you can just pick and choose parts. If you seriously don't want to build a PC yourself you can go to your nearest PC parts store and they likely offer a service where you pay them to build it for you.

I don't see the problem if you understand exactly what you're getting desu.

Building a computer is fun but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Also no LEDs/window bullshit is master race. It's not a goddamn nightclub in there.

I haven't done too much research yet but on Newegg it looks like an RTX 2070 would run me $550, and an i7 another $400-500. That's just two components, whereas I've found prebuilts that have the same card/processor and only cost about $1,300 total. Is that because the prebuilts are using cheaper versions of the same card/processor?

DON'T YOU MORONS REALIZE THEY CHEAP OUT ON IMPORTANT THINGS LIKE FANS, PSU, VENTILATION. THAT SHIT WILL LOL THE COMPUTER

BUT NO ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IT IS GPU

link me the prebuilt if you've "found" them on the internet

There's more places to buy than china-egg

Not really. Do some research and comparison. Sometimes you can find a sweet deal.

Since this looks like the gaymen PC thread, what's a good ATX case that doesn't have all the faggy LED bullshit and doesn't look like it's going to transform into a JRPG boss, but isn't just a flat box?

I built my first PC in the womb and saved 8 trillion dollars

look for yourself retard

This one is $1600, but it has an i9:
amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07J59V6PR/ref=psdcmw_13896597011_t1_B07J5RPC32

You're paying hundreds of dollars more for preassembly that you could do in less than two hours while getting lower quality components than you would get non prebuilt. If that's fine with you go for prebuilt.

Shitty materials used in prebuilts. And bloat ware

>Power Supply: 600 Watts Power Supply
I've heard that pre-built computers often come with low-quality power supplies, and that might be the case here, given that they're supplying no actual details except for the wattage.

huh, that does look cheaper built together, and the parts don't seem bad

I'm guessing they have some deals and connections that cut the cost down, this looks pretty solid to be desu.

goddamn burgers always get the good stuff.

enjoy your fucking CX Corsair psu faggot

>People still caring what their PC looks like
It's a little box you turn on to push data to a monitor, who the fuck looks at RGB lights all day when you're supposed to be looking at a monitor?
You have to be retarded to fall for the good looking PC meme. Just buy a cheap case and fit it with fans.

It's for showing off to other people. Nobody buys flashy shit so they can look at it themselves. They buy it so other people see what they bought.

>Nobody buys flashy shit so they can look at it themselves.
Says you. I love having something nice to look at so I can appreciate its design whenever I look at it.

>Hey, want to see my RGB lights?

I usually game at night and I like the idea of my room being dark with just enough low light coming from the LEDs in my PC and keyboard to illuminate my immediate surroundings and create ambience.

Never built my own PC as ALWAYS been cheaper then making it myself. Always had zero issues getting the exact gpu/cpu/motherboard with whatever else far less than building it myself. Change anything I don't like, still cost less then building it myself.

Seen the "PC prebuilds/PC build your own and buy" is retarded since 2000. And yet. I've never spent over 1100 for a single PC and always had zero issues, ran the latest ash fad games at ultra settings. At the same fps or better than people spending far more "building" there own.

But dumb shits will do what they do. Their money, their stupidity. Doesn't affect me, shouldn't affect you,

pic related seems like a good one, I don't personally have experience with it tho

you can also use pcpartpicker to look for more

>bought parts
>had a small computer store build it for me for 50 bucks
best of both worlds to be honest

Building your own PC literally takes an hour and you can use a part picking website so you don't even have to think about what you're buying.

To me it's worth the effort to save a good 20-30% on your computer.

So it's basically something like this + case?
pcpartpicker.com/list/tXcw29

I’m building my first pc later this year. Seems pretty straight forward, nigga.

nice try shlomo

Throw windows ontop of that and it's basically the same price. This is one of the few cases where I would actually buy the pre-built because it has a better warranty.

Tempered glass, LEDs and such are tacky as fuck and owners of such machines should have them confiscated and melted.

Except you can just pirate Windows.

Consoles are superior as usual :)

>missing windows, keyboard and mouse

Fuck
Can I still do this if I’m 25?

Attached: 1517341897714.jpg (558x845, 215K)

cant.
there are literally websites today that sell prebuilts as cheap as selfbuild (its really just 50-60$ cost for the work)

All depends on what parts they have. I know most will try to give you some off brand.

Getting a power supply that won't blow up on you.
All the reason you need.

pcpartpicker.com/list/dCNtfH
just saved you $100, you can save more if you opt for the cheaptastic parts like did
>not buying a $40 greymarket key
the prebuilt doesn't come with a keyboard & mouse either brainlet

>graphics card starts on fire

>why should i buy a prebuild and get told what i want vs getting to choose what i want myself

gee i dunno

>iBuyPower
Second only to CyberpowerPC in shipping damaged / dead on arrival systems
>That case
No airflow or pre-installed water cooling, you're going to have heating issues.

It does. Check the page.

This wasn't meant as an actual suggestion for a build. It was more of an illustration of what the prebuilt promises in terms of parts.

If you're okay with lower-end hardware, go for it. You are essentially paying top dollar plus labor for a non-certified psu, a lower end mobo and chipset, a non-overclockable cpu, a possibly-refurbished gpu, and nothing will be to your spec without paying out the ass.

I wanted a titanium psu, asus mobo and gpu, an unlocked intel, and a 240mm aio. My pc cost me about $2100 all said and done, and if cyberpower or whatever the fuck built it it would be around $2800 for the exact spec computer and I wouldn't know how to do my own maintenance on it. Gonna be doing a delid on monday because the 8700k runs way too hot for a 240mm rad, so wish me luck bros.

my friend wants to join master race but has too many strict requirements

-prebuilt
-3.5 or higher i7
-8gb of memory
-name brand psu
-cost $800 or less

seems impossible to find

Unless you're retarded it literally takes an hour to build a pc if you follow a tutorial. It's not that much work.

>no description of what monitor he is going to game on

difference between buying a 1060 and a 2080 ti is if you want to game at 1080p 60hz or 4k 144hz.

tell him to suck your ass and buy a fucking xbox one x or go with amd parts like the other little budget faggots.

>If your PC has a see through side or any visible lights, you're a huge dumb gaudy faggot

I agree, but practically every 'custom' case comes with this shit now. They are really pushing this LED shit as the default by trying to make it seem 'uncool' to not have everything light up.

he already has a gpu he's going to use, and some drives and a monitor. he's just too lazy to build it himself.
I told him to just get a switch but he wants a PC to game on. don't know why he's so damn lazy.

>go into aura
>set leds to off
>no gay leds

Anyway, how's your sex life?

Attached: sex life.jpg (1280x720, 46K)

26 y.o. virgin.

>even full size cases don't have even 1 5.25 bay anymore
Fuck casuals and zoomers, I stocked up on cases with 3+ 5.25 bays because of this shit

>muh fractals,muh lian li's
>muh professional look
fuck you

don't listen to some of these faggots some of those units are pretty solid just make sure you're getting your money's worth on the build don't do retarded shit like paying $1.5k on an i5 or 1060

just spend an extra 60-80 for a high end one

What if he just replaces the psu

not sure if prebuilt is doable with those, but you can scrounge around with custom

Any chance Microsoft will unfuck itself and release a non-garbage OS by the time 8.1 goes away? I'm still on 7 right now on my main PC and I'm gonna put together a new build by the end of the year.

If you get each part by yourself, you at least have the option to get a warranty for any part. If you need to replace something you'll always know exactly what you need.
Don't be a lazy fat chode

What's wrong with Windows 10 that isn't wrong with older versions?

there's a lot of sales for 600-800w gold-plat rated psu's from seasonic, corsair and evga for 60-90 what's stopping him from just getting one of those? and paying some nerd to install it?

>japanese prebuilt prices

What the fuck 200k for a computer?
I could buy a fucking house with that kind of money

It's yen, in USD it would be around 1.7k.
