i think modern dark souls fags have forgotten what they ever liked about dark souls in the first place. demon's souls was so cool when it came out because it was innovative and those innovations were successful enough for them to reuse the formula. but dark souls fags are now rejecting innovation and want another demon's clone with a new pool of weapons and bosses to play around with.

I really liked Demon's Souls and Dark Souls for the atmosphere and attention to detail, the combat is kind of shallow and easily exploitable, I'm not sure why anyone says that the best thing about souls games is the combat.

Deflects for the majority of the time, and timing them will give posture damage to your enemy. The only parry system there is, is for thrust attacks (mikiri). R1 spam will be a bad method of play. Missing deflects severely damages your posture and hp.

There is caveat though: each time you die a world tendency equivalent is there to punish. Dying spreads dragonrot to friendly NPCs that inhabit the hub, changing their dialogue/behaviour (without interrupting their action function).
When an NPC becomes infected with dragonrot due to your repeated deaths, you get an undiscardable item in your inventory that represents the NPC's sickness. Dragonrot is known to kill, as said by the Busshi. Expect NPCs to potentially die, and that it may effect the overall narrative and ending.
Normally upon death, you have a chance of getting a little bonus that reduces the amount of experience and currency (they're separate things in this game) lost on death. For every Dragonrot item in your inventory, the probability of getting that bonus decreases.

Posture bar to compensate. When the bar is full, a critical strike removes all their HP. However enemies will still have additional lives, and the posture bar depletes over time. Hit and run tactics are thus not incentivized.

Hype as fuck for sekiro. Only beat demons souls and played half of dark souls and bloodborne but sekiro looks great. I will miss messages and phantoms the most. Invades I’ll kind of miss too but I get why none of these things are in sekiro

I like the OST.

It gives you NPCs super aids by making them cough in their dialogue and literally nothing else.
It causes you to get the random effect where you don't lose half your coin and EXP when you die less the more dragonrot stones you have, but that's not really a detriment to dying since that shit's random anyway.

I am excited for the game, but I’m nervous about the combat. It looks like you’re supposed to just stand still and do perfect parrys over and over until the enemies poise gauge is filled up and then you just do a critical attack.

The only parry you can do is for thrust attacks, mikiri it's called. Not sure how you can "parry" in midair.

Combat looks pretty boring, the game feels like a Dark Souls with no purpose.

what happened to "nearly every attack can be parried"? and "hit and run tactics wont work."? The little sweep move practically forces you to run away until it ends unless you can parry it (which this guy never did/demonstrate) I was hoping this game would be more like Niohs combat where if you were good and fast enough you didn't have to constantly be running around/away from the bosses waiting for openings.
