I'm curious about who your favorite vidya character is, user. Tell me when and how you realized it was your favorite. Tell me what resonated with you in that character, why you love it the most.
I think mine is Vivi. I think i knew it in the very beginning of the game when he is scammed a fake theater ticket, it was at this very moment i felt like i wanted to protect that little dude's innocence, and then he goes to see the play and there's this cinematic with him and his big round eyes, applauding. He had already forgotten he was scammed because he's just so pure like that. I might sound like a pussy but he's very special to me.
That part made me smile. At least he made many friends in his travels AND beat his dark side.
Josiah Bailey
don't really have one I don't think. I liked Peter Stamatin from Pathologic.
Ethan Scott
Damn that game sounds amazing. Is it actually as great as it seems?
Ethan Diaz
It's true, Ventus' visit to Olympus Colosseum is my favourite part of the game. Also the best equivalent to the wide eye moment is when ventus gets frozen in the kh2fm secret ending
it lives and dies by its writing. it really is a matter of taste in the end, the writing is a certain way and if you like that then it is as great as it seems. the video game is a pretty tense survival game/walking simulator, the combat is technically ass but I didn't really mind.
in short: it's a bad game, but it lives up to what it seems to be.

Not a popular opinion, but I really like Noel from FFXIII-2. It's funny because I didn't expect to like him as I'm naturally wary of new characters added to a series. He had a hard life, being one of the last of humanity and lost his only friend. Instead of complaining and being angsty he takes steps to change his future and save humanity. The way he just carries himself as optimistic and how he never complains about his lot really inspired me.
Hunter Myers
Well thanks i'll give it a try and judge for myself
Tommy. He was struck one bad hand after another but still rose to the top and got the best of everyone. Shallow, but I don't care much for protagonists or stories, I'm in it for the gameplay, and Tommy was the perfect lunatic to embody. also >Ray Liotta your voice actors can sit.
Hey for what it's worth i liked Noel too. Concerning the FFXIII trilogy isn't it Hope who gets shit on the most, anyway?
Luke Rodriguez
Fuck what they say, I really liked Hope. That kid had it tough, but grew up to save the world and became an avatar of God.
Christopher Young
13-2 is the best of the trilogy. Lrn has the best gameplay and 13 the best story.
Lucas Lopez
Hope is my favorite character of 13, thats how a 13 kid would react in a genocide for crying out loud, but dumb people want their mc shounen in their vidya apparently.
Benjamin Carter
And he gets one of the best eidolins: Alexander.
Jonathan Walker
Leon Kennedy.
James White
Damn, i couldn't agree more. I was just saying that because i always see everyone mocking Hope for being a pussy but he literally saw his mother die before his eyes. Considering this fact, i'd say he's pretty resilient throughout the game. He's hurt, dealing with grief, but still gets shit done with the team.
Sebastian Bennett
Exactly. I can't help but feel that people shitting on Hope...and maybe even FFXIII itself, is a forced meme.
Mostly yeah, i think. Nonetheless, it's a subjective matter and i'm sure some people are very honest when they say they didn't like the game and i'm fine with that, but hating on Hope clearly shows a concerning lack of empathy. A spineless crybaby can be annoying, but when a character has it rough it's only legitimate to deal with trauma and strong emotions, at least for a certain period of time.

I'm gonna marry this rat! I will restore her smile.
Right? He's just a little concentrate of kindness and goodwill with nothing bad in his heart. When he was bullied in Dali i was so angry, such a pure little boy.
William Brooks
FFIX has so many great characters.
Kayden Green
I- i'm sorry... but furries are weird
Gabriel Howard
When I first tried out WarioWare, I immediately liked 9-Volt because he kinda reminded me of myself when I was 9 and a huge gamer like him. It wasn't until FFIX came out on the Switch when I tossed him aside in favor of the pure black mage.
FFIX had a great cast but Vivi still has the best character arc in the series imo.
I preferred Roxas ignoring 3 of course. Days isn't the best game but the characterization for all the members of the organization is fantastic, especially Roxas and Axel's stilted friendship.
Thanks! It's not just the Nintendo themed microgames that bring back the nostalgia but his character and personality overall felt like I was looking into a mirror and seeing myself back in the 90s. Even his Gamer/Sneaky Gamer minigame felt like a blast in the past because I'd try to play after bedtime without geting caught as well. Except that my mom had the chancla instead of jumping through the window or the TV.
Samuel Lopez
I literally just beat this game on switch. It was well worth the 20 bucks. Probably my favorite story in a final fantasy game.
Jayden Barnes
Despite what happened to him in a lot of later titles and it becoming the Zero show, I liked his arc in the first game a lot, and that's the one I owned as a kid. I like his ideals on paper too, and they have been executed well in Maverick Hunter X. My nostalgia also inextricably ties him to fast paced 2D sidescrollers. Also love his design.
She makes me happy and I can't wait to do the same for her!

Oops, was meant for

Time sure flies. It's a weird feel, reading you i remember my childhood and it feels like i dream, like something i didn't really live, it's so distant.
