Obvious signs that someone didn't play a game
>Tank controls were great! They enhanced the horror by giving you restrictive and imprecise controls!

tank controls are great cause they feel good not cause they feel bad

Tank controls are great because without them you'd be fucking around with the constantly changing camera angles. Silent Hill is better anyways.

>t.casual zoomer who sucks with tank controls

You do realize that's what I'm getting at, right?

I like both tank controls and modern controls.

They are made for digital inputs, they work best when you play with a d-pad so up always makes you go forward. Not defending them just saying that there's a reason for them (note how they only exists in console games), I think the N64 port has actual analog.

I dont get why people hate tank controls. I control with tank controls irl

Tank controls are not for brainlets desu senpai

tank controls took a while to get used to when I was 10. However they're perfect with the fixed camera point of view that the Resident Evil games used.

dumbfuck OP

No.

Tank controls are genuinely the only way to make a game with so many different camera angles.

>I am too synaptically unflexible to adjust to an uncommon control system in like five minutes
Everyone who criticizes tank controls is a brainlet. Prove me wrong.

how the fuck else do you play a game with pre-rendered backgrounds and manual targeting?

I can't.

By not making the game in the first place.

chekku meito

But user, you're right. Except for saying "unflexible."

The correct term is "inflexible."

Well, shit. English is not my first language, I apologize. In my language it is "un-".
Which leads me to the question - is there a rule for un/in? I mean, there's also e.g. uncool and not incool.

You're a fucking idiot. A good, intuitive control scheme is difficult to do correctly a bad one isn't just fixed by being super ultra smart

I'm not a fan of tank controls but you are right everyone who criticizes it just for being different to modern homogenized control schemes says more about the player than the game.

>a bad one
See, this is where you premise is wrong already.
Thus, your whole argument is worthless.

Probably, but it could just be one of those arbitrary nuances found in most civilized languages. The only reason I knew is because I have read a lot and have seen the word inflexible used many times and the word unflexible never used except by dipshits. Also, spell check is pretty reliable indicator of whether or not a word is spelled correctly.

>they're not bullet sponges!

>bad controls

Tank controls are perfectly legitimate and they function well within the context of the game. The fact that you can't appreciate this is pitiful and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I see. But I never use spellcheck because I am very, very sure in my own language and usually I don't need it for english. As if most of the people on here would even detect these kind of nuances. Would of and such...

This is how delusional resident evil fans are.

>Push stick forward
>Character moves forward
>WOOOOOOOWWWW

It's fine, user. You did well.

>Tank controls are perfectly legitimate
unless you're playing as a tank then no they're not

>haha kingdom hearts story doesnt make sense
>its for kids
>cringe dialogue
>bad voice acting

Clear as crystal

What would you change in early RE controls then

>implying Claire and Leon aren't tanks

Fucking idiot.

I love tank controls because they allowed for masterfully crafted set camera angles where you could intuitively continue going forward after a camera change.

1st person control was terrible for some games, specifically platformers

Attached: 20031_front.jpg (600x600, 75K)

>imprecise controls

You are talking about the remake right?

Took the words right out of my fucking mouth. Tank controls are the best, it's only faggots who can't adapt to different kinds of controls and want every single game to have the same style and button layout that complain about them.

Holy shit this is one ugly looking game.

I just don't get why people put tank controls in same category as other dated unintuitive stuff like pressing up to jump in a game with platforming.

I've tried playing 1, 2, 4, and I think 6 throughout different times in my life. Only franchise I won't touch anymore because the controls were so bad in all them.

The excuse of tank controls are acceptable because it's survival horror is horse shit.

Tank controls and fixed camera angles were only acceptable when you had enemy locations memorized.

Take a shot everytime Leon says ADA WAIT in RE2

>6
6 had amazing controls, here's how I know you're lying.

Underrated post.

They didn't get that you were mocking a poor argument for something that has an actual good argument, like tank controls which shows they didn't experience it themselves.
I got what you were getting at but you could have been a bit clearer.

I like RE:Revolution control better. Whatever it was called.

But the controls aren't bad though, they are different and once you understand that they are absolutely intuitive.

>6
>Bad controls
Go fucking kill yourself

yeah, exactly what OP is talking about. you haven't played them.

Not that retard, but 6's controls were the least responsive, they had a major delay not present in previous games and sometimes they would not respond correctly depending on the angle of the camera and space available to the character, also turning at anything other than very slow had this pivot that made the character unweildly, in smaller spaces where you needed speed it was nothing but a hindrance.
Given that, once you do acclimate to the controls they did have a lot of increased maneuverability to the point that it broke the game in many places and only enemies with powerful ranged weapons posed any kind threat.
