Should I fall for the RTX meme, Yea Forums? I have more money than sense and those reflections look gnarly.

Who gives a shit what you do?
I bought a 2070 and haven't had a problem with any recent games like Metro Exodus or Anthem. But I don't notice any noticeable improvement in graphics with RTX on
Only reason I'd get a RTX card is for DLSS, wish they had cheaper cards that only had DLSS and no ray-tracing
>But I don't notice any noticeable improvement in graphics with RTX on
there are only 2 games that even have it though.
You get better quality with equal FPS through just downscaling.
It's just a shitty upscaler.
When are the fucking GPU prices going down. Im still runnibg a 670 that has 2gb of vram.
Not unless NVIDIA fixed the VRAM dying. Which they haven't yet. So no...
Considering there's bound to be another cryptoboom and artificial intelligence is just going to keep growing... never.
>i didn't notice the lighting being completely different in metro
are you blind
I got a 2080 Ti on the 20th February. It died on the 28th February. I'm now using my old 1080 Ti while I wait for a refund.
no
buy a 1060 6gb or 1660 and wait for new cards
You’re blind then. You must be. Also check out BFV. The game is garbage, but it looks nice with dlss and rtx
There's no real reason to buy it, only a tiny handful of games support it and by the time it's commonplace you'll be wanting to upgrade again anyway if you're the type to buy the latest and greatest
However if you've got money to burn, want to upgrade right now, and won't be feeling the expense anyway there's not much of a reason not to either. Unless you consider not wanting to support Nvidia's shitty market decisions counts.
Personally I'm waiting to see what Navi offers before deciding. At the very least there will probably be a panic sale at some point near release, like when AMD unloaded a pile of Vega 56s at 30% off when the 1660 came out
FPBP
>Just wait™
just get a 1060 and 144hz monitor, high refresh rate is a bigger deal than the raytracing meme.
>There's no real reason to buy it
People forget about the 30% performance increase the 2080 Ti has over the 1080 Ti, dunno about the others but that's reason alone to buy it for me
Epic reddit meme upboated
>Nvidia's shitty market decisions
I'm barely aware of what's going on in the vidya industry anymore, so I'm completely blind as to how the tech industry is going. Care to give me the tl;dr on this or some keywords to google?
Do you want high resolutions and more reflections?
If the answer is no just buy a 1660 Ti
>there's bound to be another cryptoboom
lol
It's fucking cool and looks great but it's completely worthless right now because the only games that use it are action games and who the fuck wants to sacrifice any framerate in one of those?
It'll be nice once we have fitting games and better performance but right now it's shit.
I suggest waiting for RPGs or fighting games and such that are locked at 60fps before considering RTX.
I have a 2080.
I have an RTX 2060. FPS dipped way below 60 with RTX on in Metro Exodus. Don't fall for the meme, but the cards are still worth a purchase if you look at raw performance alone. DLSS is shit, don't even use it.
No, it kills your performance for a barely noticeable difference.
>I have more money than sense
Yes.
Pic related is the only game you'll end up playing on Turing cards.
RVII is already shitting on 2080's and the FineWine hasn't even been poured in yet, and Navi is looking to completely dominate Novideo's mid-range market share.
why q2 and not q1? Q1 has so many better single player maps for it, and stuff still being made today.
i wanna buy one cause the box opens in a cool way
If Navi doesn't hit 1080 performance at the 300 dollar price range, I doubt many will care to upgrade
Are you that same faggot that's been posting this exact shit in threads on Yea Forums? Fuck off you pathetic cunt.
in 5 years maybe, until then its like buying vr in 2014
fpbp
It's already confirmed though? Plus the best Navi line card only barely trails behind a 1080ti if the leaks are correct.
By the time Ray Tracing becomes mainstream in games, there will be a new, more efficient cards anyway.
Right now they just don't have the processing power to use it fully, so they are cutting corners, using it for specific effects instead of all the lighting or half assing things.
