You have zero idea what happens behind closed doors with those games. They show you slices but only they know the suffering happening to make all that shit become functional. The concept probably never worked out as they planned to.

I thought it was 'secretly' DD2 anyways with a name like Deep Down.

The gameplay was just an advanced dragon dogma. If anything deep down was cancelled and the gameplay developed reused and edited to make dragons dogma 2 which is coming out next year.

I'm hoping with the last few successes they've had, they'll be a bit more bold like they used to with releases. The fact they are porting DD to nearly everything gives me hope that they at least know people like the game. Just need to see what they have planned come E3 and beyond now that DMC5 is out.

How haven't Sony/Capcom been sued for this? It should be illegal to announce any game that is not above 75% of completion

They were just holding off until fromsoft stops making souls games so people starve for it. Next year or this year it will be announced at e3 or something and they will catch all the souls refugees

But Sekiro is coming out in a few weeks, and later this year Nioh 2 and The Surge 2

my PS4 has done nothing for years

It was supposed to develop their panta rhei engine. But then they never used that engine for anything, released stuff made with UE4 and now RE2 remake and DMC5 were made with the RE engine(not sure if that is just a heaviliy modified UE4 engine).
I think the game died with that engine.

That's what you get for putting it in the hands of Ono.

Hopefully they can move past all this and actually make a decent fighting game, but it looks like they're in for the long-haul with SFV, so it might have to be with a different one to move forward with.
