After the recent changes inside SIEA and the policies that are in place that have caused the censoring of various japanese games like DMC5 or even Catherine: FB, a game made by literally the same people that are working on Project Re Fantasy, Atlus has moved the development of the game to Switch.

The transition of Atlus towards Switch development will become obvious with the announcement of an updated version of Persona 5 for Switch this spring that will also be on PS4 since it was way too late to move development completely to Switch.

So there you have it, the game will take a bit more time than needed because of the development changes. Expect it to be officialy revealed early next year for an planned release for late 2020/early 2021 (for Japan at least, even though a potential involvement of Nintendo that I have no idea if it'll happen can result in a simultaneous global release).

No thanks. Dont need another JRPG on the nintendo tablet that runs in 360p in handheld mode even with anime graphics. The ATLUS game will be superior in every aspect and not held back by a tablet.

but it seems unlikely since pq2 is a non-event especially in 3DS of 2019 (which is pretty much dead)
the biggest indicator is that Joker was actually chosen by Nintendo managament and not Sakurai, because if it was Sakurai I would believe that he just picked a popular character for a popular series.
But it was chosen by Nintendo themselves so that tells me that there is a bigger strategy here.
We'll see in April I guess. I personally think it'll happen and I want to see the reactions of Sony fans (lmao) then or Switch fans if it doesn't.
