which 3 zelda games would u recommend someone to play who has never played a zelda game before?
Which 3 zelda games would u recommend someone to play who has never played a zelda game before?
Well it depends, you want the typical zelda formula, or want to experiance the whole spectrum?
OoT
MM
WW
Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, or Breath of the Wild depending on what style of Zelda you want.
Breath of the Incel
Ocarina of Onions
Discord Tranny's Mask
LttP
LA
OoT
Link: The Faces of Evil
Zelda's Adventure
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
idk, i guess whole is better no?
if they were on the fence about playing and i didnt think theyd get through OOT due to the age right off the bat, id suggest WW, then OOT, then BOTW. otherwise i guess then botw. and link to the past seems to be very popular, so if they were interested in the 2d games thatd probably be the place to start. out of 2d, ive onyl ever played the NES one to near-completion, but thats not a good entry point to the series these days
I'd start with Breath of the Wild.
There's a Link's Awakening Remaster on its way to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.
Then grab A Link Between Worlds.
If you're still into Zelda by the time you finish those three, there's an Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask remaster on the 3DS.
Zelda2 NES, probably Breath of the Wild and than you need something classic. Can be Link to the past, Link's Awakening or you check out the hype about Ocarina of Time.
But why only 3 games?
you can give more, but i think by 3 i can kinda get the idea of the favorite ones from people
Pretty much this
Well it's just hard because nearly all games did throw something new into it. For many zelda2 isn't even a real zelda. if you play the classic Zelda on NES you could in theory skip Link to the past, or vise versa. But of course Link to the past has way more items to play around and more freedom. The difference between ocarina of time and majorask mask isn't that big. Many items return puzzles are sameish, but adds that time travel thing. For some it's a turnoff, for some a feature. breath of the wild should, if you can, definitly be played because it is something totally new (open world).
It really doesn't matter as long as it's not SS or one of the DS games.
lttp
either oot/mm, depending on which setting you find preferable
twilight princess.
you get a really wide variety of the types of zelda games and you can determine which ones you'd like to play more of from there.
That's a tough question.
Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Breath of the Wild would give you a glimpse of Zelda overall IMO. LttP sets up the formula, Ocarina of Time perfects it in 3D, and then outside of Majora's Mask it's kind of the same thing for 20 years until Breath of the Wild, where it shatters the formula for better or worse.
I'd play the three I mentioned then go through the others if you enjoy them.
>All 3D
OoT
LTTP
then based upon those...
>Enjoyed OoT more
MM
>Enjoyed LTTP more
Seasons/Ages
Those are the most "pure" Zelda titles. All others either have flaws or gimmicks. Most of the latter titles suffer from significant pacing issues, and the older titles are less modern (but not bad at all, the NES and GB titles are excellent). Anyone suggesting anything other is trying to lead you astray. After playing those three, then decide whether you want to play more, OP.
>Anyone suggesting anything other is trying to lead you astray
>my opinion right
>everyone else wrong
Why play MM if he played OoT and is looking to get a glimpse of everything available?
Ocarina of time or a link to the past. Neither my absolute favorites but definitely the best place to start
The original, ALTTP, MM, TP. In that order.
Wait shit I did 4
This
He never said he wanted to experience the full spectrum. I offered him overall the "best" experiences in each of the two styles. I considered using WW or TP instead of MM, but I think if you were to literally only play three Zelda titles, you may as well avoid ones with big glaring flaws (and you're speaking with someone who thinks MM has issues, but the latter titles all have massive problems despite being good games). Ideally, he would play Everything up through the GC-era and then decide whether or not to continue, but three is three.

Original
A link to the past
Ocarina of Time
In that order, you'll get a good feel for the evolution of zelda. For something different, try Majora's Mask, Breath of the Wild, and Oracle of Ages/Seasons. The rest of zelda are more of the same with lesser quality
TO THE SHADOW REALM WITH YOU CHEATER!
Put that dog out of its misery.
OoT
LTtP
BotW
To get a taste of each style of Zelda.
Ah, my apologies. Okay, if he wants the full spectrum, then WW so he can get a full taste of gimmick and wasted potential in with the good and interesting.
How is BotW indicative of a "style" of Zelda any more than the Adventure of Link is?
Ocarina of Time
ALTTP
third one is either LA or Majora's Mask depending on whether or not you prefer 2D or 3D more
It's just me speculating, but I feel like future Zeldas will be based off BotW in the same way older 3D zeldas were based off of OoT.
ALTTP
ALTTP Randomizer
ALTTP Randomizer again.
Play LA if you enjoyed LTTP. Then Seasons/Ages.
