There's a much stronger focus on Neutral in this game, armor has been all but removed, and 50/50's have been virtually removed as well. On top of that, the krushing blows add a new layer to the competitive meta that's really unique and creates a different type of resource management during gameplay. The only thing "casual" about it is that inputs have been toned down, but MK has never been about tough inputs in the first place. You seem incredibly misinformed.

The Old Engine for MK 9 didn't have the ability to translate this exactly to the game. This new game could, sadly we'll never get to see it.

No one used x-rays in mk9 and mkx because it was smarter to save your meter for breakers and EX moves. Fatal Blows are going to be way more useful since they don't take away from your meter resource, also no breakers

No. The game still has a lot of the problems from MK9 and 10 but, so far, has shown less content and overall worse designs for all of the characters. From the response I have seen, it appears that I am not the target audience anymore so my money is better spent on games that value me as a consumer base.

X Rays were extremely situational at high level play, and NRS wants this game to have staying power at a high level. It's why a lot of the concerns they addressed in development were concerns from tournament level players.

It looks like some characters have different focuses for sure. I'm not sure it's "less combo", but actually "less 20 second Cyrax/Lao combos". If Tyler, a player as simple and uncreative as he is can cork out almost 38% on stream, I have faith with what the lab guys in the community can find when they have their hands on the game for more than a few minutes

I think it's an improvement to the gear system. No stats or moves being tied to magic pants is a very good thing in my eyes. And they don't sacrifice the character originality the old gear system had. Your character can still feel uniquely yours. I do wonder how they'll address the variation system for competitive play though. I know they're thinking about "regulation" variations for that, but that feels like a cop out and limiting high level creativity)

I think it's a very good change. I liked the run, but it was a crutch for me. I struggle to get in, and running was just an easy way to do it. It seems to be largely replaced by a lot of things (Characters having counter zoning tools, characters having more ranged normals, etc). It also helps create that footsie base they want.
