Did Bayonetta 2 really deserve a 10/10 score?

If you don't mind the lowered skill ceiling it does fix the small handful of retarded design choices about the first game so yes and no?

Nintendo games never deserve their ratings.

Ocarina of Time obviously, nothing gets people more hyped then a new 3D Zelda game. BOTW is almost certainely the 3rd most hyped game ever behind TP & OOT. Since it literally broke the internet with it's trailer & is still hyped up as the best game of the century by Zoomers & journos

I hated Tropical Freeze when I first played it. I don't even know why I bought it, because years before I hated Returns, too. But then I saw a review of it, which praised it in a way that interested me, and I came back to Tropical Freeze with a fresh mindset. I accepted that while it was a platformer where you played as Donkey Kong, it played nothing like the original Donkey Kong Country trilogy. Once I got over that, I really enjoyed Tropical Freeze a lot and would rate it 8/10.

Bayo 2 has tons of performance issues, even on Switch.

The game is a clunky mess in so many ways, it's not even remotely as well designed as the first game.
Parrying is unreliable and doesn't give you magic, taunting doesn't give you magic, enemy wind ups are randomly different now but still have the same wind up animation and sound time.
Umbran Climax is a terrible mechanic that reduces to game to "Press L to platinum", there's no point not to use it whenever you have it and completely ruins whatever balance the game had going for it.

Also regarding Witch Time: People who think "bayo 2 is better than 1" sound like adults who prefer riding tricycles because riding a bike with training wheels wasn't as fun to them. Bayonetta's main mechanic is NOT witch time.
Kamiya intended for people to master Infinite Climax, where the players cannot easily rely on Witch Time anymore. Bayo 2 never let's you remove those "training wheels".

Most Bayo 1 fans who actually attempt to learn the harder difficulties of the first game are completely aware of its flaws,
but at the point where you play infinite climax they already became non issues or at least makes up for them with how well designed IC, its "late game", is.
Bayo 2 never gets to this point, it's overall more safely designed, doesn't suffer from 1's flaws in a lot of ways,
but there's nothing here that lets you even remotely remove those "training wheels" and the game never really gets good to a skilled player. It's often very shallow in design.

There is a massive lists of things that Bayonetta 1 did exceptionally well as an action game and 2 just changing almost all of them for no reason and not even doing it well.
It's like Hashimoto never actually played Bayo 1 in IC mode and didn't understand things like the combo meter on a fundamental level, yet he decided to ruin it anyway.

bayonetta 1 is a 100/10 - 90 for the finger breaking quick time events

LISTEN TO ME. I played Bayonetta 1 on the Xbox 360. I loved it. I adored it. I couldn’t put the controller down until the very end. I beat a damn action game. I don’t remember the story but still it was incredible.

I HAVE NOT played Bayonetta 2 yet. I plan on it but don’t feel compelled to pick it up on Switch yet. WHY IS THIS. What am I missing with Bayonetta 2 that Bayonetta 1 couldn’t deliver me with? Umbran Climax easily destroying everything was easily the worst offender for me combined with too many bossfights being against human opponents.
I know people bitched about HP sponge bosses or whatever in the first game but enjoyed destroying huge angels much more than fighting the same human sized bosses several times.
