Name a better roster
UMvC3
MvC 2
Mortal kombat 9
only problem I had with MK9 was Freddy Kreuger instead of literally any other MK character. Tired of fucking guest characters in EVERY fighting game
Samurai Shodown V Special
>2 dmc characters
why
umvc3 best way to handle cuts from previous games
>cut the sf2, darkstalkers and xmen bloat
>added a fuckton of main faces (deadpool, dante, chris, thor, dr strange, zero, wesker)
>cool inspired side picks (modok, taskmaster, she hulk, firebrand)
>no captain marvel
DROPPED
Infinites is better
>2 dmc characters
>Dante, Vergil and Trish
>all that literal who shit on the marvel side
>bionic commando, viper, okami, trish, and whatever the fuck the thing on the bottom left is
TRIPLE ARROW
Tekken 7.
I haven't played Okami but Amaterasu was a cool and unique addition just by looking at the character desu
>Saying that Marvel Infinite is better in a ROSTER thread
Sigma is more fun than any character in Marvel 3 and Jedah/Panther/Venom are pretty cool too but it doesn't excuse utterly gutting 3's roster in the process.
In a world where the MCU was basically not a thing yet (I think only Hulk and Iron Man were out by then) that was a pretty solid roster. X-23, Super Skrull, MODOK, and Taskmaster were the weird choices there, but the latter two were Capcom choices for the sake of having fun characters (a good thing), and Skrull was a way to get the whole F4's powers in there in one spot. Then there's Shuma who was a legacy character that Capcom basically begged for.
Capcom's fluff is worse to be fair, but there's literally nothing wrong with Ammy, Spencer, or Viper. Hsien-Ko should've been Talbain like they planned if they wanted a third DS character, and Trish was only in because Itsuno and team insisted it, otherwise Vergil would've been in Vanilla 3.
POISON TIP
marvel 2
Pretty much can't. If you can't Smash Ultimate maybe that, but I think MVC3 hit a great balance of representing a ton of different series, more importantly representing them very well, and having a huge variety of different playstyles and strategies.

Xmen vs street fighter
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max
you mean TRASH
>no MODOK
>no Taskmaster
>no Iron Fist
>no Phoenix Wright
>no Wesker
>no Frank West
>A3 Max
>Add Ingrid, the worst character Capcom has ever designed
>Dude time-traveling Yun lmao because Capcom refused to add 3S reps to things other than Yun for a while for some reason
Nope. I'd honestly rather regular Alpha 3, even though I like Eagle & Maki.
It really is a good roster. Capcom needs to take this roster, add a few of the Infinite characters, and even out the sides for 4 and it'll be fantastic.
>Venom, Capt. Marvel, Black Panther, Ultron from Infinite
>X, Jedah, Monster Hunter
>Add Loki for Marvel
>Add PTX-04A and Arisen for Capcom
Last good fighting game Capcom made. Do people still play it? I could get back into it. I actually never delved as much into Ultimate. Nemesis looked really cool.
They wouldn't bring back the Hunter. They did that behind the MonHun director's back when he turned down the idea for 3 because he hates portraying one particular armor/weapon combo as "THE Hunter". He was apparently really mad when Infinite added her. Keep Sigma instead. He was a ton of fun to use.
>PTX & Arisen
100% based.
There's still tournaments and I'm sure you can find games on the recent PS4/Bone/PC port. Nemesis is actually a lot of fun, one of my favorite characters in the franchise to use. I get the impression he was designed to have a lot of synergy with Wesker, because they compliment each other insanely well. Nemesis/Wesker/Hawkeye is one of my main teams.
were people whispering about MvC4 later last year? Or something like that?
Capcom's shown that they can actually make good games again within these last 2 years and it seems like they're back on everyone's radar
Fuck that guy's autism. Hunter should be in the next game.
>mfw Gene was considered but didn't make it in the end
They also shifted people around in Division 2 (who have been making the fighting games since SFIV) so now Ono isn't at the helm. They also have Itsuno in their back pocket down the line since he wants to make a fighting game again, even if he'll probably do another Dragon's Dogma first.
Hm, good to know. I'm one of those autists who can't use just two characters from the same series, though--it's either a full crossover or three of the same theme. I liked Chris a lot and played an OK Dante at vanilla launch... Sounds like a cool classic RE/nu-RE/psuedo-RE team, but synergy might be a little wack. I just always liked how Nemesis looked like a zoning-focused heavy, pretty rare archetype.
>tfw Doc Ock was almost in 3
I wanted it so bad but it's a wonder we even got two Clover reps, and Joe and Ammy make more sense.
Yeah, that's why I like him too. He's got all the armor of a big body and the command grab resets as well, but he trades some damage output for insane range on his tentacles and his rocket launcher.
Look up a player named Scamby. He ran Nemesis/Chris/Wesker and made the team look really synergistic and smooth. I just personally can't play Chris myself.
>Niitsuma talked about X & Gene being the next on the list if 3 got another update, along with Venom, due to doing well in every fan poll
>That lead to X & Venom being stuck in Infinite, Venom not even being base roster
Fucking IMAGINE if Gene's return was in that game. Holy shit.
There's always some MvC rumours, remember Uncanny edition? The latest one if you can even call it that is Filipino Champ teasing MvC 4 in Twitter
Chris gels for me just for having a braindead babby mode BnB that starts well from his high priority cr. M. I have no earthly idea why they nerfed Zero f+H, the assist was a decent extender off OTG that stopped working in Ultimate.
Mah Freddy was based, same with Jason and the rest
They shouldn't have even made Infinite. Just make another MvC3 update. Add in Black Panther, Ultron, Captain Marvel, Venom, Monster Hunter, X, Sigma, and Jedah. Maybe do some crazy shit like Green Goblin or Gene. Would have sold like hotcakes
I can't help but be biased with the Slasher guests since I love that shit.
It's good but not perfect
>Jill is back but make it a shitty version when all people wanted was MvC2 Jill
>no Gene
>no BoF character
>two Megaman characters, NEITHER is a actual Megaman
>Akuma and C. Viper when they could have pulled far more interesting and unique SF reps
>no Cyclops
>no Venom
>no Punisher
8/10 roster though.
Akuma was a lame choice to represent SF3 (this was the dev's intention anyway), but C. Viper was great. She was basically a watered down Marvel character in SF4 already.
I think NRS games play like shit but they do their guest characters right. Jason was easily the most fun thing in MKX for me, and they really killed it with Hellboy and TMNT in Inj2. I really wish I didn't hate how the games play.
Mike mains rise up
>Keep Sigma instead. He was a ton of fun to use.
I hate that Sigma is more fun and a better offensive zoner than X, the one character I actively wanted in UMvC3. MvC:I is a mistake and doesn't represent X very well at all.
>street fighter and friends vs x-men and friends
No. UMvC3 is objectively the best representation of both marvel and capcom in a fighter to date.
Mulan a best. Stitch secondary.
I miss watching mahvel at evo even tho it was kinda shit
>Akuma was a lame choice to represent SF3 (this was the dev's intention anyway)
Really? I've never heard this but considering how many actually interesting characters SFIII had that's sad. In TvC they had Ryu for SF, Chun for SFII, and Alex for SFIII. I feel like it was the perfect relresentation for the series.
I think people are just biased for MvC2 since the "and friends" characters were at least a lot of fun. Characters like Jin and such were fun to have.
Can we agree that while it's a great game, CvS2 had a pretty poor roster?
>Okay, our side has 24 characters. Who should we put in?
>Just add World Warrior's cast and bosses, Cammy, and the new shotos from Alpha (Dan/Sakura/E.Ryu). Oh, and use that Morrigan sprite again plus add Yun and only Yun from 3S.
>How about new characters?
>Okay, take them from Street Fighter 1 and two SF spinoffs
>and the boss?
>Akuma again
>Also don't put in enough grapplers to make a full team in our 40+ character game
Thoughts on this guy being included?
Post dream picks
>Nero
>Gene
>Arisen
>Asura
>Robbie Reyes
>Gwenpool
>Ant-Man
>Moon Knight
He punch fast
I think it's pretty universally agreed that CvS2's roster was bullshit. Like I get it, they wanted to keep it to fighting franchises only, but even then you still have series like Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Cyberbots, and others to pull characters from. For tbe SNK side it'snot as bad, a few more SamSho characters and such would have been nice is all.
Marvel 3 is the only game in the entire Vs series that didn't primarily reuse assets. There's a small handful of characters on Capcom's side that were similar to their Tatsunoko selves, but their models and attacks were quite different, especially in Ultimate when characters like Ryu and Chun got a bunch of brand-new shit.
I think that's why the game is so good. The game was built from the ground up to be a revival of a loved franchise and the team both at Capcom and at Marvel really cared about making it great. The only truly disappointing thing was that god-awful "comic" that shipped with Vanilla 3 that made absolutely zero fucking sense.
TvC was also a primarily original-asset game and it was also fucking great.
There's two SamShos and a Last Blade rep which is solid, but I don't really care about Nakoruru at all and Hibiki is just okay. I do main Haohmaru though, he's my anchor.
Personally the game would double in quality if it had more grapplers. Raiden is great but I just can't play him well at all and Gief feels really limited by the systems in some ways when I use him. I would've loved Maxima, Alex, Clark, Hawk, Tizoc, and/or Hugo. Alex reps 3S, Hugo reps 3S and FF, Tizoc reps Garou, Clark reps Ikari Warriors. It would've worked. I just really like Maxima.
1992 US men's Olympic basketball team
He'd be pretty cool
TvC and Marvel 3 is peak Shinkiro. All the varied art designs among the games' casts forces him out of Clooney mode.
cvs2
>CvS2
>Good roster
The only good thing I can say about it is that the characters it added on top of CvS1's were a lot more interesting.
>He was apparently really mad when Infinite added her.
Where's your source?
>Maki will never be used again ever
Such a shame, she's amusing in CvS2. Her quote when dying literally just her screaming "SHIT" in Japanese is hilarious.
Cable, Venom, and Megaman were weird omissions and I would have liked B.B. Hood, but other than that it's pretty much perfect
Anyone shits on MvC3's roster because of quantity needs to McFuckin' kill themselves. There were some glaring omissions sure, I won't deny that, but the overall variety and presentation is fantastic. It's a god damn shame what happened with Infinite.
I wasn't shitting on it
>MvC4 eventually comes out again
>It's just Morrigan again to rep Darkstalkers
Morrigan is hot but god she's just not that interesting, and pales in comparison to the rest of Darkstalkers' roster. Ideally, I would like for Jedah to be in the game, but that was probably wasted on MvC:I. Bishamon maybe? Anything is good really.
I'd expect Jedah in MvC:I to only make him more likely for MvC4
>They add another Darkstalker rep
>It's Morrigan again, but with her original sprite
Nah, they'll pull a MvC1 and add "Lilith", who is just Morrigan with Lilith's colors.
Based, tho I'ld rather go with MKD or MKA
is it true they wanted another update to Umvc3?
smash bros ultimate
UMvC3 would be first if it had Jin, Megaman,Gene and Asura
pic unrelated
>not maining gaston
shiggy
I fucking hope so
Sure but characters like Haggar, Hawkeye, Nova and Phoenix Wright are pretty damn fun in their own right.
>Akuma instead of M. Bison
To be fair, while Morrigan keeps on showing up, the Darkstalkers series gets a lot better coverage than most other non-headliner Capcom series.
Honestly though, I'd like Lord Raptor to show up in one, but he's kind of unlikely but whatever. Why Anakaris was in MvC2, I'll never know.
Wrong, Akuma was chosen because he was the first Capcom crossover character ever. He's secretly in X-men: CotA
while I'm all about having more diversity in the Capcom side of the roster, there's nothing wrong with filling the Marvel side with X-Men
>In a world where the MCU was basically not a thing yet
Son are you serious Capcom used to Marvel Super Heroes videogames since the snes like holy fuck nigger
