I've never taken advantage of emulation as a PC fag. What do you recommend I play Yea Forums?

I was inspired to emulate gen2 by a thread yesterday and want to dive in. My Western games are simply a testament to my failure to Branch out. Which is why I'm doing this now. I would love to play some Japanese games but don't know where to start. I owned every final fantasy game on PS1 and PS2 but never beat any of them because I didn't understand the mechanics when I was a stupid kid. I think the closest thing to a Japanese game I've played to completion is MGS which is another favorite which I forgot to mention. But even that is made by a western fetishist.

Try the SNES classics. Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, Super Metroid, DKC2, A Link to the Past, etc.

There are some pretty good recs here, I second Castlevania because it's basically classic western horror through a japanese lens. Also don't skip NES games just before they're old, there's good stuff in there. Always check this wiki to decide what emulator you should use
